This 1864 two story house was once the home to a railroad clerk and his family. It was restored maintaining the original hard pine floors, fireplaces and decorative trim. Plus, it has off street parking. It’s in an excellent location, 3 short blocks from Forsyth park fountain. But it’s been given a modern touch by its current owner–an artist and graduate of Savannah College of Art & Design.
There are so many cool paintings and creative touches (the standout yellow front door among them) that we’ve taken to calling this the “Artist’s House.”
The home is a top/down duplex, and this listing covers the rooms on the lower-level apartment. The larger bedroom has a queen-sized bed, while the other bedroom holds 2 twin beds.
There is one bathroom.
The small kitchen has all the appliances you’ll need during your visit. There is a large living room with smart TV and seating for eight. The walls are decorated with the owner’s artworks. Through the windows, you’ll see the streets of Savannah’s historic district beckoning.
The walled-in backyard has a shady patio and outdoor seating. This area is shared with guests living in the top story.
You won’t find a more picturesque corner of Savannah to stay. Forsyth Park, with its fountain and oaks draped with Spanish moss, lies just blocks away, and historic downtown Savannah is fully accessible with the DOT shuttles running every 10 minutes.
The house were recently painted and decorated.
Lockbox for self check-in.
Parking area with outdoor security camera.
There is a laundry room next to the stairs outside the living room.
