Melissa, thank you for your 5-star review! We agree, spending an afternoon on the back deck while watching the changing tides and relishing in a pleasant breeze is truly a relaxing experience. Our location is suitable to explore all that Stonington/Deer Isle has to offer while still being close enough to visit Acadia National Park and Belfast. We're happy to hear that you ventured out to enjoy those two great Maine attractions. For sure, if you love kayaking, paddling amongst the various scenic islands is a must!

As stated in a previous review, “the house is lovely and well cared for,” so after reading your review, we were mystified as to what you were referring to when you stated, “it could have been a little cleaner.” Thanks for responding to our inquiry and sharing that you noticed a cobweb. Our normal procedure is to do a “walk through” inspection of the work performed by our cleaning crew. However, your unexpected early arrival thwarted such an opportunity. We have since reminded the crew, that given high ceilings, it is imperative to always look up (lol)! We look forward to earning that “extra star” during your next visit.

Since your visit, we did extensive trimming and removal of storm damaged trees. The view from the deck is even more spectacular. We have also constructed an additional "lower deck" with a staircase heading down to the shore. It's just another of the many relaxing spots to enjoy the view and scenery.
