Come visit and see our gorgeous 2024 room renovations! Beds, furnishings, art, decor - everything is ALL NEW. The amazing ocean front view remains the same ;-)

Hale Kai Hawaii Suites offers four oceanfront rooms (booked individually) and a spectacular, panoramic view of the blue Pacific Ocean and Hilo Bay. We overlook the popular Honolii surfing beach in a peaceful location just 2 miles north of historic Hilo Town. Revel in the best views in Hilo while at our pool and oceanfront lanai!

The Moana Room is a large room with king bed, small table with chairs, desk, WiFi, SMART TV, private bathroom with shower, small fridge/freezer, microwave, coffee maker, hot water pot, toaster, dishes and utensils, ceiling and portable fan, no air conditioning and sliding door to lanai. Continental breakfast items are stocked daily and we invite all guests to swim in the pool or lounge on our oceanfront lanai.

A few NOTES: One parking spot is provided per room in this quiet residential neighborhood. All Guest Rooms are facing the ocean on the lower level of the property and there are over 30 steps down (pictured) to traverse to the rooms. Guests are responsible for carrying their luggage to their rooms. Bookings limited to 2 guests per room (age 13 years and over). Quiet hours are 9pm to 8am for the comfort of all of our guests, Mahalo!

While at Hale Kai (House on the Ocean) Hawaii, enjoy watching surfers, dolphins, and seasonal humpback whales during their annual migration to the Hawaiian Islands from the north Pacific. Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Stayed in the Moana room for two nights! We had an issue with our door, but staff was very responsive and professional. The view was amazing, the room was clean and the fresh fruit was a nice, welcoming touch! Overall great stay!

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: No air conditioning which we knew, but room very muggy. Lacked privacy. We had to pull heavy drapes across our screen door for privacy therefore blocking any air flow. Room was dark. Asked for ice and we were told not part of the contract. Had to buy our own. Nice view. Difficult to drag luggage into room ... have to go down a set of stairs and then up. Parking available but very tight.

The only thing I would like to see is air conditioning. The ocean breeze is nice, but without cross ventilation, (a second window) the room can get stuffy.

Great space next to the ocean

We had a nice stay at this space. The only cons were the hot tub didn't work, and our door wouldn't lock from the outside with the key provided, but the space was secluded and we felt very safe despite. We would certainly stay in this beautiful space again. Mahalo!
