Stay @ Mermaid Cove - Opal

The City of Folly Beach has scheduled beach renourishment for this spring. The project will start at the West end of the island at the county park progressing towards the pier in blocks. The completion is slated for August. While this is welcomed news given the recent erosion from storms and high tides, we realize the potential for disruption based on the project’s timing.

We are committed to ensuring your vacation experience remains enjoyable. While most of the beach will remain publicly accessible during the construction, there is a possibility that certain sections of the beach, typically about 500 feet at a time, may be temporarily closed off. The active work area moves every 5 to 7 days on average.

Due to so many external factors, we have no way to predict an accurate timeline for when the project will be at any given location. However, if we anticipate in advance that the project may affect your stay, we will be reaching out to you.

In the small chance the project directly affects your beachfront vacation, we will work closely with you to discuss options.

Opal is a new first floor oceanfront vacation home available in the spring of 2022! You are sure to enjoy the ocean view from your deck, living room, dining room, kitchen and one bedroom. Both bedrooms have a king bed and ensuite bath. Mermaid Cove is a fully renovated 6 unit building located just off of Center St. and all that Folly has to offer.

There are two parking places per unit.

There's also one Electric vehicle charger for the building. If you would like to use it, please inquire.

Each condo has an adjoining door with the unit next to it, meaning you can rent two units to create a full 4 bedroom condo, if your group needs more space! | Opal (1B) connects with Pearl (1A)!

If this vacation home is not available for the dates that you need, try one of the other five in the building.

NEED MORE WARNING ABOUT LACK OF ELEVATORS

My wife and I are both over 80 years old with health issues. lack of an elevator is a MAJOR issue for us. We needed help to get our bags up to our room. If this was pointed out in the information on the unit we certainly did see it. Poor sound insulation between us the floor above. Seems the folks above us were getting their steps in for the day.

Great Stay on the Beach

We had a great weekend staying at this property. It’s close enough to walk to all of the restaurants and loved that it’s right next to the pier.

We had a great time! The room was great! The only problem is the bed in the master bedroom. It’s broken and could not sleep on it.

Great location and property

We had a great time while staying at this property. The kitchen has everything you could need, the house is very clean, and the view of the ocean is amazing right outside your back door. Any questions were immediately addressed and the property is in a great location. You can walk to local restaurants or drive into downtown Charleston which isn’t to far. We would stay here again.
