Just a short 7.5 mile drive to downtown Lewes/ Lewes Beach, Cape Henlopen state park, and 10 miles to Rehoboth Beach!

Enjoy a leisurely bike ride to historic downtown Lewes or explore Cape Henlopen state park with easy access to the Georgetown Lewes bike trail directly across the street! This is a paved bike trail that will lead you right into town bypassing any major road or highway.

After a long day of soaking up the sun, treat yourselves to the best ice cream at the Delaware shore located at the Hopkins farm creamery only 1 mile up route 9. For my fellow winos, directly across the street is THE BRIMMING HORN MEADERY an Award winning purveyors of Mead (honey wine), Fruit Wines and Cider.

Dogfish Head brewery is also located in Milton and is only 5 miles from the Coastal Cottage!

The meadery’s Scandinavian vibe, made complete with antler adorned chandeliers, will make you feel like you’re entering a Viking stronghold but after your first taste, you’ll see mead is not just for Vikings, it’s a beverage with creative components and complexities that every beer or wine connoisseur can enjoy.

Also only a few miles up route 9 is Nassau Valley Vineyards an award winning winery. Located just a few miles from Delaware’s bustling beach resorts, the winery is nestled among verdant fields on a quiet country road. One turn off the highway and you are a world away.
