Ik heb bijna 100 jaar aan de waterkant van Morro Bay gezeten. Ik ben een romantische gast schuilplaats voor liefhebbers ... liefhebbers van natuur, kunst, gedachte, boeken, wijn, avontuur, ontdekking, eenzaamheid en ziel, maar vooral voor degenen die houden van en zichzelf graag verzorgen.

Er zijn geen rinkelende telefoons, schetterende tv's, verkeersgeluiden of andere inbraken. In plaats daarvan bied ik je de zeldzame kans om jezelf onder te dompelen in de natuur en rustig. Je hoort het geluid van de golven op het strand en de kustvogels die naar voedsel voor mijn dek zoeken. Ik ben je toevluchtsoord en je toevluchtsoord voor het verkennen van alles wat om me heen is, en alles dat in je is.

Elk huis heeft een verhaal. Ik nodig je uit om te bezoeken en een deel van mij te worden.
Terwijl je de eerste keer nadert ... kijk je naar mijn kleine groene gevel en begin je te denken aan het potentieel dat nu net buiten het zicht wacht. We staan allebei, jij en ik, aan de rand van transformatie ... want we staan op het punt een onvergetelijke ervaring met elkaar te beginnen.

Ik heb een verhaal te vertellen, mijn eigen ... wil je niet even naar binnen komen en me helpen mijn lied te zingen?

Ik ben misschien maar een klein strandhuisje, maar stap door mijn paarse binnenkomst en je wordt verwelkomd door een eclectische mix van kunst en antiek verzameld door mijn familie gedurende drie generaties en liefdevol getoond om een romantische en intieme omgeving te creëren om je te inspireren tijdens uw verblijf.

Ik heb veel dingen gezien en gehoord in mijn vier partituren en 15 jaar. Zoals alle plaatsen waar mensen wonen, is hier een geest die gevormd is door de persoonlijkheden, gesprekken en het temperament van degenen die tijd binnen mijn muren hebben doorgebracht. Ik ben bezig geweest met kinderen, ouders en grootouders.

Mijn familie heeft hier gestudeerd voor examens en toelatingsexamens en meer taarten gebakken dan je je kunt voorstellen. Mijn bezoekers waren reizigers, avonturiers, beroemde auteurs en liedschrijvers, gerenommeerde schilders, een van Amerika's meest gevierde buitenfotografen, natuuronderzoekers, pasgetrouwden ... en door de generaties kunstenaars en levensliefhebbers van mijn eigenaars. Al hun aanwezigheid blijft hangen in de lucht en nodigt je uit om deel te nemen aan en je eigen essentie bij te dragen aan mijn evoluerende karakter.

Ik ben halverwege tussen Los Angeles en San Francisco, rustig zittend tussen de Stille Oceaan en de glooiende heuvels van open ranchland, in het kleine stadje Los Osos. Genesteld langs de zuidelijke getijdenmonding van Morro Bay, zit ik aan de smogvrije kust van Centraal-Californië. Ik ben slechts 20 minuten van San Luis Obispo door een weelderig landbouw- en veeteeltlandschap.

Ga weg van uw snelle wereld. BEZOEK - Haal diep adem van schone, heldere zeelucht. VERBLIJF - Het leven is te kort om erdoorheen te haasten. SPEEL - als een local: dartel op het water, wandel door de heuvels, proef een paar geweldige wijnen en blijf gewoon rustig zitten en kijk hoe de natuur zich om je heen ontvouwt.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the Green Cottage. It truly is a wonderful place to get away and relax while watching the nature all around. Sioux and Pandora are great hosts who had a little extra something waiting for us upon our arrival. We look forward to another visit.

A very thoughtful setup with all of your basic needs available (extra blankets, basic food/spices, etc.). The scenery is fantastic and everything in the cottage compliments that makes it a memorable stay.

The perfect bayside retreat!

I have stayed many times at the Green Cottage on Morro Bay, and I will be coming back again! It is a perfect place to enjoy the many activities in the surrounding areas, or just veg out on the deck and soak up the views across the bay. Heaven!

We love guests who tell us something about themselves, that way we can make recommendations about things we think they might like to see or do. Sometimes their personality and sense of humor come through their words then it's fun to be a bit playful. So many of our guests return year after year and it all starts with the communications before they ever arrive. So whether you are going to stay with us or another vacation rental tell your hosts about you. What do you like? What interests you? Do you have a passion for mystery, history, art, hidden secret beach coves, or old ruins, or forgotten barns that haven't been used in 100 years? Or if you are a photographer and would love to see a slice of local history, tell your host. They just might know a Hearst and get you invited to a round up and branding; or to a grape harvest on one of the 300 local wineries. Hosts are there to be your guides. We know our areas and we want to help and it's fun to help! Talk to us. Lisa told us it was their 1st wedding anniversary. How romantic. Of course "bubbles" were going to be in the refrigerator for them! They were planning on going to one of our favorite wineries, obviously they'd done some research and have good taste! Beautiful and peaceful location. We enjoyed five nights at the green cottage which is located at the end of a quiet peninsula on Morro Bay in Los Osos. Absolute tranquility was experienced as we listened to the sound of little waves on the shoreline and the calls of birds on the shore and flying by. We enjoyed an incredible view of the bay with Morro Rock in the distance. We spent a great deal of time just enjoying the views and the sounds from the cozy deck or from the dining area. Everything was perfect inside and around the cottage. We were able to launch our kayaks directly in front of the cottage, and there is a convenient hose for rinsing the kayaks after an excursion. We were able to take some great hikes in Montana de Oro State Park, which is a short distance from the cottage. Our host, Pandora, was extremely helpful and always responded quickly to any messages we sent to her. We hope to book another stay at this wonderful cottage in the future.

Our stay was excellent! We spent a lot time on the back porch enjoying the magnificent view and all the wildlife. The cottage itself was immaculate and had everything we wanted for taking care of ourselves, for cooking and enjoying. We will likely be returning.

I've lost count - six or seven times we've stayed here. The fact that we've stayed here so often is testament to how well we like it there. Clean, quiet, always fresh flowers in the kitchen when we arrive (from the owner's garden!), and the view! Wow! Magic....every time.

We love our return guests. It does say a lot about the Cottage, but even more about the guests who love the quiet and the surrounding nature. We get to know what our return guests' like and can suggest cool things for them to do or see when they're here. Sioux (our Cottage Keeper) and I work hard to create a perfect welcoming atmosphere, and as long as the roses are in bloom, the fresh flowers do come from our garden. The views, well they go on forever.

Peaceful beauty

Pandora is an amazing host, and everything about the cottage was perfect. It was spotless, and the kitchen has everything you need to make great meals. The views of the bay are really lovely…lots of good birdwatching. We loved the artwork and personal touches. We hope to return!

What a wonderful couple! And, high praise from them since they own a vacation rental on the other coast. The were excellent communicators, fun, interested in the area and appreciative of the bird displays. They also were excellent guests and left the Green Cottage spotless. We would love to host them again!

wonderful, special and immaculate

As always, the cottage felt like our special place. We love to walk everywhere and there is so much beauty and peace in the area that we never get tired of returning. Pandora and Gary have taken care of every need and more and the cottage is immaculately kept. We love our annual visit.

We love our return guests! They love the Green Cottage as much as we do. Once we get to know what they like: the kinds of foods they love, whether they are hikers or bikers, or art gallery visitors, we can make suggestions that might intrigue and entertain them. For the history buff, we have Hearst Castle of course, but we also have the Pozo Saloon where you can experience California as it was in the 1800s. It is also one of the finest and most authentic examples of how the west used to be. With its rustic, cozy interior and surrounding countryside, the Pozo Saloon continues to offer locals and the curious traveler the hospitality and frontier friendliness of a bygone day. Sundays they usually have live music and the food is great. Come see why so many of our guests return again and again.

A fabulous place to stay on the bay in a fabulous place.

I really loved the cottage. I stopped in Morro Bay on a road trip. Taking pictures all over California. From the deck of the amazing cottage on Morro Bay I got some great pics. The host is amazing. The attention to detail of the cottage stood out. If you want a beautiful secluded place you can't beat The Green Cottage.

Randy is a photographer but this area is so filled with beautiful places it's hard to narrow photo opportunities down to just a few places and have the perfect light. I enjoyed pointing him to my favorite photo sites, but there are so many. He'll just have to return and stay longer. It was fun to talk with him. There have been many photographers who have stayed at the Cottage, several famous ones. It's always interesting to hear about their approach and what they shoot with. We have such beautiful golden light, and lots to see and do between those times. If you love beautiful, unique places, the Central Coast is the place to visit.

I'd like to claim that the Cottage brings out the artistic and creative sides in our guests, but I think it's the other way around. Great little cottage great views.

Spent our 25th Anniversary in this cozy little cottage. They have thought of everything in this place. Well supplied kitchen, great reading on the area and many fun suggestions for your time spent in area. The view of Morro Bay from back porch is very peaceful. Enjoyed watching the birds. Definitely exceeded expectations.

We love it when our guests celebrate special occasions at the Cottage. This couple didn't tell us, so we weren't able to surprise them with a fabulous bottle of local wine. Next time! The Cottage is romantic, is very, very private, quiet, peaceful and the bay entertains our guests with changing tides, colors, birds and sunrises and sunsets. A perfect spot to celebrate!

Bayside Beauty!

This cottage is such a lovely find. Beautifully appointed and cozy, you can't beat the location on the shores of Morro Bay, and it's close to San Luis Obispo with lots of things to do nearby. Quiet and peaceful, its the ideal place to restore your soul and commune with nature. I'll be back!

The is one of our "champion guests!" She has visited for years and books a year in advance for 3-4 trips each year. It is so nice to know the Green Cottage provides the peace, quiet, privacy and calm that people are seeking. It says a lot about the Green Cottage, and even more about our guests.

So Lovely!

We celebrated our 30 anniversary at the green cottage! And it was spectacular! The property itself was amazing. The views were fantastic, but I think the thing that was most important during our was the attention and support we received from our hosts. They went above and beyond the call of duty. We will be back.

Happy Hearts

Absolutely wonderful peaceful place. Like living inside a piece of art, Green Cottage is lovely in every dimension. Perfectly clean with a thoughtful assortment of dishes, cookware, books, puzzles and games. Beautiful view of Morro Bay with a resident Blue Heron. Surrounded by parks with interesting hiking trails and beaches. We will definitely return to Green Cottage.

We have been guests in other VRBOs and have developed a long list of all the things that need to be in a rental to make it comfortable, convenient and accommodating to a guest. So, that's why we have several sets of dishes, wine glasses (champagne flutes and martini glasses too), sharp knives (and lots of them) and enough pots and pans to cook a Thanksgiving dinner for 12. Since we often don't know our guests we want to ensure everything they could want or need is in the Cottage, waiting for them. The Cottage has been in our family for two generations. We have lived on the bay for almost four decades and love it, and love to share it with others. The Cottage was originally built to shelter the duck hunters and fishermen who were attracted here, but it was soon bought in the 1950's by our parents and was used as a residence while they built their dream home next door. The Cottage has been our family's guesthouse since then and we've recently made it available as a vacation rental. The charm as a family retreat has been retained through the complete refurbishing received in 2009. We have designed the Cottage to provide our guests with the perfect opportunity to immerse themselves in the Central Coast experience. We are not the Hyatt (on purpose!) -- just the opposite. We provide a unique EXPERIENCE to our guests. We want them to feel they are staying in their favorite aunt's beach cottage while she is away sailing through the South Seas, and she left them the keys to her special place and her prized possessions. What our guests won't find here are ringing phones, blaring TV or fax machines, or lists of rules permanently affixed to the walls -- all by design. We we do provide wireless internet service and a 38' HDTV for watching DVDs, plus over 400 DVDs to choose from. We want the cottage to provide guests with the ability to ESCAPE the fast-paced world.
