Prime Waterfront Long Pond Modern Cottage met Dock

'Windiana' is een woning aan het water op 12 hectare op Long Pond het grootste meer op Mt. Woestijn. Long Pond is vier mijl lang en we zijn op het puntje van Northern Neck in het centrum tegenover Acadia National Park. We hebben uitzicht op het meer. Zorg ervoor dat je onze video ziet die op de VRBO-foto's staat. De video wordt afgespeeld wanneer u bij de 3e foto komt. We zijn op de eerste plaats op Long Pond tegenover Beech, Mansel en Bernard. Het moderne huisje ligt op een minder dichtbevolkt deel van het meer met direct aan de overkant het ongerepte Acadia National Park.

Windiana III
Het grootste huisje is Windiana III. Het is 75 voet van het water. De woonkamer heeft een kathedraalplafond en een bubbeldakraam in het midden van het huis. De woonkamer is omgeven door ramen met uitzicht op het meer en pijnbomen. Het heeft een grote bank die kan worden omgezet in een volledige slaapbank en rieten stoelen. De grote slaapkamer heeft een queensize bed, schuifdeuren naar het dek en uitzicht over het meer. De tweede slaapkamer heeft een tweepersoonsbed met uitzicht op het meer en de steiger. De derde slaapkamer heeft twee tweelingen. Er is een kleine, goed uitgeruste keuken en een grote badkamer met een wasmachine / droger. Dit huis is gemaakt voor binnen / buiten wonen. Het dek is 36 x 12 aan de voorzijde en loopt rond tot een 8 x 28 dek met een grill en stapt naar het water. Het huis bevat ook adirondacks, chaises en een eettafel met plaats voor 10.

De studio
Een andere kleine studio cottage kan op aanvraag worden gehuurd. Windiana II is een hoofdkamer met uitzicht op het water van alle kanten. Het heeft een queensize bed, rieten bank en stoelen, kleine koelkast, gootsteen, een complete badkamer. Deze kamer is ideaal voor een stel of grootouders. Het huisje heeft ook een terras en uitzicht op het meer.

Over Long Pond
Het kost je een week om alle edelstenen op Long Pond te zien! Kano naar Duck Rock voor een picknick. Duck Rock is een prachtig rotsblok dat geleidelijk in het meer snijdt. Perfect om te zwemmen met alle leeftijden. Je kunt zelfs een proef van Acadia National Park ophalen op de loodlijn op Mansel Mountain. Picknick naar Rum Island en verken dit prachtig gelegen eiland met uitzicht op het meer. Snorkel en vind de rotsblokken zo groot als rotsen voor de kust. Het is een kristalhelder zoetwatermeer. Het is perfect voor zwemmen, varen en bas vissen. Kajaks, paddleboards en kano's zijn verkrijgbaar via de National Cano Rental op Long Pond @ 207-244-5854.

Word één met de natuur op deze unieke plek
Geniet van het spectaculaire uitzicht vanaf de dekken en kijk uit voor Loons en adelaars. Maak een vroege kajaktocht terwijl het meer als glas is. Zon en zwem op het privédok en verken een zoetwatermeer. Kano naar Rum Island of Duck Rock voor een picknick. Vis voor zeebaars en zalm. Wees één met de natuur. Zie de maan boven Beech opkomen en zich 's nachts in een deken oprollen. Luister naar de roep van de Loons en geniet van dit unieke pand omgeven door tien hectare bos. Dit is het paradijs!

Fantastic stay for the week, close to many hiking trails. Beautiful, quiet lake with dock to enjoy when you need a break from the crowds . Home was clean and had everything we needed. Mostly appreciated the wheelchair accessible features which are very hard to find in a rental. Diana is a great host, she was available for anything we needed throughout our stay. This cottage will always hold a special memory for our family as our daughter and future son in-law got engaged on the picturesque dock during our stay!

This property is exceptional—we loved it so much that we booked a return visit before we even got back home. The setting is beautiful, with gorgeous lake views and a quiet lake that's perfect for swimming, paddling, and relaxing. We rented canoes from a local outfitter that the hosts recommended, and the drop-off and pickup made everything effortless.The house is comfortable, thoughtfully equipped, and stocked with so many practical touches, from a well-appointed (if compact) kitchen to useful extras like a collapsible hamper and drying rack. The outdoor space is outstanding, with a large deck for both dining and lounging, plus a private dock right on the water.The hosts struck the perfect balance: warm, responsive, and full of great local recommendations, while also giving us complete privacy. We couldn't have asked for a better stay and can't wait to come back.

The home was great. The lake was amazing. Acadia park and Bar Harbor is approximately a 25 minute drive. The entire family had an amazing time. Would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful home in beautiful private setting

My wife and I went to Acadia to hike and bike for 5 days. This is a beautiful home on a beautiful, quiet lake, convenient to all activities on the island. We had a wonderful time!

It's 23 minutes to Bar Harbor, 15 minutes to Southwest and just 11 minutes to our Freshies in Somesville which has gas, food, and other essentials. Tree house over the pond

This charming well appointed little house has wrap-around views of Long Pond through the trees and lots of natural light. The loon calls and breezes add to the joy. Diana is a responsive and responsible host. It was a true pleasure to stay there.

Perfect lakeside house

We love this house!! It's so livable and comfortable, with very thoughtful details throughout. The location is beautiful. You feel so remote yet you're not. We loved being able to swim and fish off the dock and being able to keep our boat there. The neighborhood around the house was also picturesque for running and dog walking. And our hosts were so very kind and generous. They really made the vacation extra special. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful and tranquil gem on Long Pond

This was our family’s second time staying at this house, and we plan to return again. The house is in an ideal location! It’s on a little island in Long Pond. The house is beautiful and well maintained, and Diana is very responsive and helpful in addressing any questions and offering information and suggestions for the area. There’s a beautiful deck, and the house has its own dock on the lake. I highly recommend staying there!

Stunning property and location!

Incredible property and beautiful home with a spectacular view! Such a special property with an amazing history, and Diana, the host, was absolutely lovely and welcoming. She made our family of 4, 2 adults, 2 children ages 12 and 9, feel right at home. The home was bright, clean, comfortable, beautiful indoors and out, and had everything we needed for our week exploring Acadia. The kitchen area was stocked with everything to easily prep and cook all our meals, and the home also had a full-size washer and dryer that worked perfectly. Our family is looking forward to coming again soon for another visit! Thank you Diana for sharing your stunning home!

So quiet!

So quiet!!! The house is at the SW end of an island, with no traffic noise nor nearby neighbours. The owner's house is adjacent but distant enough to enable privacy. The dock was great, and completely private other than passing canoeists. The pond was warm enough to swim (late June). The house is new and in good shape. The kitchen diner lounge room is snug, with limited storage options for groceries. The best place we have stayed in Mt Desert Island.

Long Pond Cottage

The listing description accurate. Cottage is in quiet woods with direct water access. There’s a small dock for kayak or canoe if you rent or bring your own. Kitchen is well appointed as are the bedrooms and bathroom. Common area is small but comfortable for three people. Not in the description is that you must bring your own water for drinking but the tap water is fine for cooking and bathing. Saw stars at night as well as an asylum of loons right off of the dock. Quite peaceful there. Slightly far from anywhere you may want to go but not horrible. I was content to stay put and swim with my dog : )

I love it when renters don’t leave the property and really enjoy our water views and dock and the crystal clear water. We have added seating in the open plan common area which now seats 8 comfortably. Our large L-shaped deck is made for outdoor living. We have two chaises, two Adirondacks and a large table which seats six and a gas grill. We are upgrading our water treatment system for the 2024 season. It’s great you and your dog enjoyed swimming on the lake. Thanks for your suggestions!

Perfect Location!!

This lake house was great!! We had our family of 4 - My son, 21, and daughter ,19, and we all fit comfortably with own space & had everything we needed. We went May 17th-21st & were looking forward to kayaking on the lake & just made it in time for opening season!! That was a close one, we didn't think about on/off season but fortunately our first day there was opening day - for most of Bar Harbor too. The Kayak place down the street was So accommodating and friendly and we were able to Kayak right up to the dock in the back of the house. So much fun!! Location was perfect! You're literally right in the middle of Acadia! Cadillac mountain, Bar Harbor, restaurants, bars and gift shops are all close by- within 20 minutes!! The 4 of us got up early for sunrise at Cadillac Mountain & it was a Amazing! Can't wait to go back!!

Going to the top of Cadillac is one of my favorite adventures in the early morning. I also like to see the Ovens these hidden caves on Rt.3 and go out with Diver Dan to see the bottom of the ocean! My 30 page guide has lots of adventures and I hope you will come back.

Amazing location!

This is a small, bright and cheerful house overlooking Long Pond. A wood chip path leads down to a dock overlooking a pristine and extremely private portion of the lake. To say this is a good spot is an understatement--the location is incredible, at the end of a peninsula and surrounded by acres of woods. Our three kids (aged 13 and 10-year-old twins) swam every day in the warm water before and after all the many activities we did. Bar Harbor and Southwest Harbor are a short drive away and there's so much to do in every direction. One thing that's not clear from the ad is that the owner's own house is set not too far away from the rental property. (She happened to be away during our stay.) That house has its own dock and is set far enough away so that it's still a private house rental, but just know that you're not entirely alone. I've stayed on Long Pond before and I think this is a special house and amazing for families. Highest marks.

We had a wonderful stay at Diana's cottage! It was close enough to all the sightseeing, yet still felt secluded and private. The cabin is about 20 minutes from Bar Harbor and 15 minutes from Southwest Harbor, making it an ideal location for exploring Acadia while enjoying a peaceful retreat.The cabin was exactly as described and pictured. There was plenty of room for three adults, two small children, and our dog. We especially appreciated being able to bring our dog, as Acadia is incredibly dog-friendly.The cottage had all the modern amenities needed for a comfortable stay, including a dishwasher and an excellent washer and dryer. The beds were very comfortable, and the beautiful artwork and tasteful décor made the space feel warm, welcoming, and relaxing.Diana was a gracious host. Her recommendations for activities and restaurants were excellent, and we loved every dinner spot she suggested. If you're visiting during the summer, be sure to make restaurant reservations well in advance.We made so many wonderful memories during our stay and would highly recommend Diana's cabin to families or anyone planning a trip to Acadia. We would happily stay here again!

Excellent Getaway

Snaps to Diana and the opportunity to stay in this beautiful contemporary VRBO. The property is off the beaten path in a beautiful setting with all the amenities one could possibly need. Diana provided information prior to to our arrival that was extremely helpful. Thanks to her email we reserved times to go to Cadillac Mountain, lunch at Jordan Pond, and a nice anniversary dinner in Bar Harbor. She truly goes above and beyond what I have experienced with other hosts. We enjoyed our Fall visit so much we hope to reserve a week in the Summer to go kayaking, swimming, biking etc. Mt. Desert is truly a magical place!

Peaceful

We arrived well after dark, exhausted, and got settled. The next morning we awoke up to a glassy lake with male and female loons out front making their indescribable call. This was the dream beginning for me. Serenity defined. The house/cottage/cabin is a very modern construction with large picture windows and sliders, and with a great deck. Amenities such as shower and washer/dryer were better than at home! The area was lovely with fall colors at their peak. Communications with then owner were great. Recommend!

Nice Stay!

Very cute place right on the water! Our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 young children) enjoyed our stay here and it had everything we needed. There were some little things we had to figure out but overall it was great. Beautiful area, and about 25 minutes to everything. Also really close to Beech Mountain hike which is part of Acadia!

Dream vacation

What can I say? A beautiful location, kayaking in the morning, dips in the lake, stargazing in the evening, and all that Mount Desert Island has to offer. Wish I was back there!

As a young child, my parents brought us to Mt Desert as my grandmother was a Somes. I have always been in love with the island and wanted to capture its magic. I have a masters in Art History and Museum work and worked in the Smithsonian before raising three children. I have always been in love with the quality of light in Maine. I am an artist and paint on the island in the summer.

In 1761 our ancestor Abraham Somes settled Mt. Desert. This property came down to us from our grandmother who was a Somes. The land was originally part of an island on Long Pond. In the 1950's a causeway was built over to the island. Today this area is now called Northern Neck. The Northern Neck Road is great for walking or running. This is in the best spot on Long Pond picked by the original settlers on Mount Desert!

Built on a point on a fresh water lake about 75 feet from the water's edge, decks on two sides, Private Dock for swimming. One of the best views on the lake and on Mt. Desert Island!!! Windiana III is well maintained modern house.
