Enjoyed our stay. Everything was comfy and cozy. Appreciated the separate up and down living spaces. Kitchen was well equipped. Pics on listing might be a little outdated but everything functioned well. There is a fairly busy road at the bottom of the property so you hear a little road noise from the deck. But the spectacular views more than make up for that. We saw beautiful double rainbows, sunsets and alpenglow from the windows.

This house was wonderful! The view is amazing! The house had lots of extras like dishwasher soap, laundry soap, etc.

The house was was very clean and the description is very accurate. Host was very responsive to queries. The view was absolutely amazing! We watched a herd of Elk straight out from the house every morning and evening. There were at least 100 elk each time.

Views! Views! Views!

This was a last-minute getaway for us and we are really happy we found this gem just outside of Fairplay. Hands down, our favorite thing about this property were the views. In addition, the home is very clean, comfortable and well stocked. Early one morning, my husband saw a large herd of elk in the open valley area across from the house. Would definitely recommend this place!

Hawks Nest Stay

The house is beautiful with incredible views! It was fully furnished with everything you could possibly need to make for a comfortable stay. The kitchen had everything needed including an expresso machine (used extensively) and an excellent set of knives. The owners were very responsive whenever we reached out to them. The location of the house was great for getting to Buena Vista or Breckinridge in about half an hour. We will definitely look at staying there again if we travel to that area!

Great Rural Getaway

Stayed here a week to get away. They say 'luxury' cabin and I was skeptical but it was indeed really nice! Hosts were easy to communicate with. Just know, there's no a/c and while everyone in the surrounding area will say "eh you don't need it," the house routinely got up to 82-83 during the day before it could cool down at night.

Amazing Place

Our family of 6 stayed for 2 weeks. We were very impressed with the house. Everything was thought of and provided. The views of the mountains are amazing. They had children's tylenol in the medicine cabinet. We couldn't find it at any local stores. We would definitely stay again. Esther was very responsive if we needed anything. Thanks

Such a beautiful place!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hawk's View!! The most impressive thing (after the views, of course) about the stay was how intuitive the kitchen is laid out, every time we went to look for something it was right where we thought it might be! We are Denverites just spending the weekend in the mountains, the place is perfect for that but it would also be great for a week long stay too. I will for sure be checking to see if Hawk's View is available the next time my in laws are planning a visit! We did not have kids on this trip, except our furry children. And it did not go unnoticed that this place would be great for a family with children! So many possibilities! THANK YOU

Excellent Mountain Home for Family Adventure

We rented Hawk's View for a 6-day fall mountain getaway with our son's family. It provided an ideal location and accommodations for our needs and desires. Perched up on a ridge, it features magnificent views of the river valley and of the mountain ranges to the west. The first morning we enjoyed viewing an elk herd of perhaps 100 through the home's spotting scope. The location was convenient for a variety of wonderful hikes in aspen groves and on mountain trails. The house was beautifully decorated and very comfortably furnished. The kitchen was the best-stocked kitchen we have ever had in a vacation rental. Meals at the extended table with full window views were a highlight. Sunsets can be stunning! The porch was ideal for grilling dinners and stargazing at night. We definitely plan to return to Hawk's View.

A wonderful week long escape!

The husband and I brought our two small dogs, hoping for a classic Colorado experience. This home did not disappoint! Sitting over the highway, the second we walked in we were greeted by a sprawling view of the valley below us and the mountains in the distance. The entrance on to the top floor truly kicked off our stay in style. With just the two of us humans, having the entire property to ourselves offered plenty of options for enjoying the weather and our base of operations. Downstairs was a cooler space with great seating for late night movie watching, and the rooms looked cozy and comfy. The master bed and bath upstairs were phenomenal, with the walk-in closet giving plenty of space for us to unpack for our stay. The home was clean, and all the amenities worked perfectly for us. We jumped off from this location to enjoy FairPlay, Breckinridge, Conifer and the adjacent trails and forests along the way. Would definitely recommend this for a family headquarters to explore the area, or a couples get away as we did!

The cabin was beautiful the view was amazing and we love the location. Some downsides we encoutered during our visit was the lack of supplies. We were supplied with 4 wash cloth for 8 people and the 3 bathrooms had one roll of toilet paper each. No extra was found anywhere. Which normally wouldn't bother us but we found this out about 2 in the morning when we were completely out of tp. Super frustrating. Then we had a hot water issue. Only 2 people could shower in a 90 min window. Now imagine 8 people outside in the heat doing all sorts of sweaty things to come back to shower so they can go to dinner just to find out that only TWO people could shower. That was our number one complaint. Maybe that's why they only supplied 4 wash clothes? No bathmat was in the downstairs bathroom so the floor became very wet when getting out of the shower. The downstairs bathroom sink wouldn't drain either. The floors are very squeaky. I am a early riser but every morning I woke everyone up in the cabin because the floors were so loud!!! We couldn't do anything without the floors giving us away. The worst part was in the kitchen by the pantry. Floors squeaked all over the cabin though.
