Very quiet and private with beautiful views of the landscape and wildlife. It is a wonderful place to visit year round for a quiet get away or to enjoy the great outdoors. In the winter there is snowmobiling, snow shoeing, crosscountry and downhill skiing within 30-45 minutes of Grand Mesa Haven. Spring and summer offer fishing, rafting, paddleboarding and more on the Gunnison River and Grand Mesa which is the world's largest flat-top mountain, bursting with over 300 lakes sprawled across 500 square miles of striking terrain. Thousands of trails for hiking, mountain and road biking, horseback riding, ATVing and sight seeing all over the Western Slope. A few must sees... the Black Canyon of the Gunnison just outside of Montrose, The National Monument in Grand Junction and of course the Grand Mesa. Fall brings the turning of the aspens, with Color Weekend on the Grand Mesa the end of September and Applefest in Cedaredge the first weekend in October. Cedaredge Applefest has been celebrating area fruit growers annually since 1977. Festivities include live music, art, craft & food vendors, 5 Alarm Chili Cookoff, Golf Tournament, Car, tractor & motorcycle show, Pinup Competition, a 5K run, and tons more! The event brings together local businesses, apple orchards, artists, musicians, 160+ vendors, and over 20,000 event attendees.
