We didn't pay enough, so we got bumped to a crap property under foreclosure.

TL:DR Leslie gave our booking to another for more money and placed us in a foreclosure followed by lies and gaslighting. Booked this luxury property 11 mo in advance. I received a new listing discount. When some of our party arrived into town, Leslie told us that the booking was flooded and she had to move us, ironically, to an actually flooded place. She said it was in the same building, then it was in the same complex, then it ended up 4 miles away. If you don't know, never except the replacement with out calling VRBO. Because I did, they have zero recourse and refuse to help. We checked the original houses and they were occupied with guests. Leslie told me that because of the event, I couldn't get a place now for the price we paid last year and for these reasons, I am confident that she rented out the original place for much more money and left us in a barley habitable. The place was filthy, dirty sheet, blood on pillows, no towels or soap, broken doors, broken AC (water pouring from ceiling), wouldn't sleep the same accommodations, had broken furniture, broken glass, burnt outlet, burn marks on the floor, no pots and pans, no laundry, no blinds anywhere. Leslie said that she would fix everything, but after our continued dissatisfaction she threatened to throw my family out. She left and immediately responded to the VRBO chat with lies. She told VRBO that this was an upgrade and caused damage.

Terrible Communication with Property Host

The property host was probably the more difficult people I’ve ever worked with on a rental service app. I had this property booked/fully paid for months. The day of my reservation, I was messaged last minute saying that my reservation was being moved to a new property. She waited until members of my group were physically at the original reserved property trying to drop off luggage. To make matters worse she refused to answer my calls and explain to me why our reservation was being moved to a new location. After an hour of people in my group standing outside of the property, I finally was messaged me saying that she was “upgrading” us to a new location - that she chose for us. Obviously we went to the new location - because where else would we go?? Once we finally checked in to the new property - it was quite obvious that this new house was “cleaned” very quickly as she was trying to place us anywhere she could. There was half eaten food in the fridge, crushed up snacks in one of the beds, and also dirt and hair all over the floors. Also - the trash cans in the garage were full and smelled bad. It wasn’t clean. But the host claimed we were “upgraded” just because the house was bigger. Once I voiced my concerns - I was accused of making false accusations and then was ghosted. I couldn’t get an apology - let alone a small discount. Lastly, she still has not provided me a reason as to why our original reservation got canceled the DAY OF!
