3100 sf 4 bedroom 3 bath updated farmhouse - the "Red House" - on coveted Mere Point, Brunswick, about 8 minutes from downtown and 40 minutes to Portland. Nicely furnished. Working gigantic stone fireplace. Huge wrap around porch with screened in portion. 3 rear decks. 9 acre lot with farm pond and several hundred feet of oceanfront (tidal cove with excellent clamming!). Acres of lawn. Serene spot off the main road. Expansive ocean views from almost every room. Walking distance to public boat launch for trailered boats up to 24' and Paul's marina for larger craft. Double sea kayaks onsite, though note that able bodied people will need to be available to carry the kayaks down stairs to the shore, across rough terrain to the water, and back up the stairs. If you need a full service kaykak outfit, there are rental places nearby.

downstairs: 2 car garage with lots of sports and outdoor stuff and large second fridge/freezer; mudroom; full bath with shower; large kitchen with breakfast nook; piano room with slider to back deck; formal dining room with 8 person shaker table; large living room w/ fireplace, office area, window seat; large screened porch w/ darts and patio furniture. All first floor rooms have lovely ocean views. 2nd floor (see room descriptions for bed details): south bedroom aka "bunk room"; full bath; middle bedroom; master bedroom; master bath; guest suite; sunset deck. All rooms but the master and baths have ocean views.

Oceanfront farmhouse family gathering

The property was absolutely beautiful with access to the waterfront a short walk down from the house. Beautiful sunsets and fun rock collecting. The house itself is charming with a wrap around porch and a well stocked kitchen. Additionally the beds were comfortable and all was clean and fresh. I would stay here again. Plenty of room for more family to come next time. The property owner was very receptive to questions and comments. Thank you.

Very spacious and well-appointed!

The house and property were very spacious and we really enjoyed all the balcony/patio space. Check-in/check-out was smooth, plenty of linens, lots of recreational equipment including three tandem sea kayaks which could be launched from the property's waterfront. The owner was very communicative via text messages.

Great, cozy getaway!

My family and I had an awesome time at the farmhouse! It was easy to check-in, there was plenty of space for us to spread out, and it's in a very quiet, serene location. The kitchen was stocked with all of the essentials for us to cook, and Brunswick was a short 15 minute drive if we wanted to go out to eat. We spent many evenings on the back porch watching the sunset. Will definitely be back if we're in the area!

August 2023 Stay

This property was a delight for our family. It is beautifully decorated and comfortable for hanging with folks, sleeping and eating small or large meals. It was spacious for our group and the outdoors are a great compliment to the home. Terrific views and plenty of lawn games and kayaks to use.

Red House Stay

We loved our stay in this Red Farmhouse. Everything about the house is in pristine condition. It was perfectly comfortable for our family with small children. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed to prepare meals. The front porch was especially enjoyable. We had easy communication with the owner and appreciated meeting him. He also had great suggestions for outings. Our only downside was that a beach appropriate for small children was a distance away.
