Great little getaway!

The location was perfect! Close to some stores, 2 minute walk to the beach and a great neighborhood. My family enjoyed their stay.

The house was clean and ready for guests! The only issue we had was the bunk bed/queen room was not connected to the kitchen/master. We had littles for the bunk bed and having them in a separate building was an issue. Other then that the walk to the beach was short and simple.

The place was a small bungalow near the beach. However, the place was very musty and needed to be aired out. Even after running the dehumidifier, the smell of stale moldy air would not go away.

Cozy and clean

We really enjoyed our stay at this cozy and clean beach house that was stocked with all the essentials and more. We were in town for a graduation so unfortunately did not get to spend much time enjoying the beach that was just a short walk from the house. We did enjoy sitting outside at night watching the stars and hearing the waves. The second bedroom on the ground floor ended up being a great advantage for adult kids. Overall a great trip and a great place to stay!

Gorgeous Beach Proximity

We enjoyed a relaxing weekend near the beach - the deck had a beautiful view of the water and was only about 2 blocks from the beach. However - make sure you get check-in information in advance. It was not in the app instructions and the owner didn't respond until an hour after check-in (multiple calls/texts/messages in the app) with this information as we sat in the hot sun outside. Despite the start, we enjoyed our time and it is a nice, quiet neighborhood.

An AMAZING vacation. Just book it!

My wife and I decided to come out from California for an island vacation in Galveston and we are glad we did! We stayed at John's Pelicans Soar only one block from the beach and loved it. The home had everything we needed to cook and entertain, in fact all of the bedrooms and living areas had smart tv's and the wifi was super fast. The furniture was all very comortable and the beds were especially nice. We loved the view of the gulf and the sound of the waves and the Pelicans flying by was awesome! The outdoor entertainment area was cool too with a big screen smart tv.They even provided a beach wagon with beach towels and toys for the kids! The home is located on the west shore only about 10 minutes from the Galveston seawall the shopping grocery stores and gas within minutes. If you’re into working out, there’s a gym about a half a mile away which had all the basic necessities. Galveston exceeded our expectations with great restaurants and a really fun music/ foody scene downtown and along the seawall. So many things to do we could have stayed for a month instead of only a week. We will be back and we highly recommend this home and John was an excellent host!

We are just finishing up a 5 day stay in this beach house and it was just what we wanted. The house is an easy 5 minute walk to the beach through a friendly neighborhood or similar homes. The amenities were exactly as noted. Some of the outdoor spaces looked more weather-beaten than how they appeared in the photo and some aspects of the interior looked a bit worn (for example, many of the miniblinds were on their last leg or were missing parts that allowed adjustment) but the place overall had a well-loved feel. Communication with the hosts prior to our arrival was initially lacking but it turns out that an unexpected health issue was to blame and they were very responsive during our stay. The unusual setup of having essentially a one-bedroom apartment upstairs and a separate-entrance room downstairs with a queen bed, a set of twin bunk beds, and a bathroom/laundry/extra fridge/TV/coffeemaker, turned out to be great for a trip with older teenagers. They had their space and snacks downstairs and the soundproofing was pretty good between the units. We would definitely stay here again.
