Immerse yourself in the soothing coastal breezes at this large, recently updated oceanfront home nestled along the pristine Cape Hatteras National Seashore. This island retreat has it all, which only comes around once in a Blue Moon. The home is oceanfront with panoramic views from the top level and has a private pool and hot tub, a game room, movie theater and an elevator. The house sits close enough to the ocean to enjoy the soothing ocean waves, and you can see dolphins frolic in the surf while you have your morning coffee. Make a splash in the pool by day, stargaze from the hot tub at night, collect seashells in the morning under the ethereal pastel sunrises. These are just a few of the things that guests love to do at The Blue Moon.

The large, three level, 4,200 square foot house features seven bedrooms, six full bathrooms and two half bathrooms, two pull out couches and an elevator for easy travel between floors. The home can comfortably sleep 22.

The open living area sits beneath a cathedral ceiling. Curl up and watch Roku TV or connect to your favorite streaming services (including Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime and others) to any of the seven Smart TVs throughout the house or watch a movie in the theater room where you can stream movies or select from our collection of over 150 movies.

Cook a meal while not missing any of the fun, or the view of the beautiful blue ocean. The open concept kitchen has an expansive island and plenty of countertop space. This kitchen is fully equipped with assorted glassware, silverware, spatulas, cutlery, coffee makers (Keurig and Regular), toaster, blender, bakeware, pots and pans and more! You’re sure to have everything needed to enjoy meals at home while staying at The Blue Moon.

Between the two large dining room tables and island seating - up to 24 guests can share a meal in the same space.

The lower level features a movie theater, six new leather reclining seats with built-in back massagers. The movie theater has a 90 inch 4K projector, which is connected to a Blu-ray/DVD player and has surround sound. The retro game room on the lower level has a pool table and a kitchenette which includes a refrigerator, microwave and icemaker.

There are seven thoughtfully designed bedrooms for relaxing and restoration – four of which are master bedrooms, all connected to an ensuite bathroom. The bunk bedrooms and twin bedrooms are perfect for kids to create lasting memories in, and both are situated next to a full bathroom for convenience. Each room has its own character and benefits to enjoy, four bedrooms are theme rooms, including an 'Under the Sea' room, featuring a large painted mural on the ceiling, as well as characters throughout from Disney and Pixar films.

There are several decks off the home - three facing the sand dune and ocean off the back of the home, where you can relax in one of the many chairs, while listening to the waves or watching the kids play in the private pool. The 7-person hot tub is situated near the pool, so that you and your family can relax in the cool pool or the hot tub, while keeping sight of everyone. You can also relax in the hot tub and star-gaze at night. Pro-tip – turn off all the lights in the house to experience pure serenity from the hot tub under the moon and stars!

The private pool and hot tub are serviced regularly. The pool has the option of being heated to 88 degrees, to help make it even more enjoyable, the cost for having the pool heated is $70 per day. The pool is open from the last week in March and can be open as late as mid-November, if requested. Pool heat is usually only needed in the Spring and Fall seasons, but if you like to have the pool water nice and warm, it can be turned on anytime in the summer.

Follow the pathway off the back of the home that leads up to a serene beach, which you and your family may have all to yourselves sometimes, during the day or night. Cape Hatteras National Seashore is known for its undeveloped pristine beaches which stretch for miles in either direction. There is plenty of space to sprawl out and enjoy a day at the beach. Keep an eye out for dolphins which occasionally visit. Rinse off in the outdoor shower under the home to get a nice refresh before going inside to relax.

Recently purchased High Chair and Pack and Play are both available at the house and free to use.

The owners welcome you to the Blue Moon Beach House on beautiful Hatteras Island, North Carolina.

After a long day at the beach, head to your pool area for more fun! Relax in the bubbling hot tub or cool off in the large, private pool. A covered porch is ready for entertaining and near the pool you'll find an outdoor shower with hot and cold water as well as an

Level 1:
The first floor offers a 50's style Retro Game Room with a pool table, air hockey table, wet bar/kitchenette, full size refrigerator with stand alone commercial ice maker and microwave. There is also an elevator on this floor with easy access to the other two floors.

When you need a break from the sun, enjoy the adjacent private home theater room with a 90" 4K High Definition TV with Cinema surround sound and a Blu-Ray player. We provide a large collection of other recent Blu-Ray and DVD movies. Two bedrooms, one King bedroom with a private bath and the other bedroom with two sets of full over full bunks with its own bathroom, are also found on the first floor.

Level 2:
The second floor has three king bedrooms and one bedroom with queen over queen bunk beds, as well as the bonus sitting room with a comfy queen sleeper sofa and a large flat screen TV.

Level 3:
The top floor features an impressive great room with ample seating and a convenient half bathroom. In the Living Room, there is also a pull-out queen sleeper sofa. The master king bedroom suite is also found on the top floor complete with a large en-suite bathroom.

Linens and towels are provided for every bed and the beds are made before you arrive.

The location of this house allows you great privacy, but is still close to shops and restaurants, charter fishing, and all of the local Hatteras Island Villages.

Blue Moon will make your beach vacation a memorable one for the entire family and your favorite dog. ($150.00 pet fee per dog).
