Best spot for a family get together. There is a huge back yard where we played volleyball, corn hole, badminton and footballs. It’s minutes from Galice for live music. We had the most wholesome memorable weekend.

Great family getaway to disconnect and get outside

Great location, plenty of room inside and out. Spent lots of time playing badminton and exploring the river. Walking distance to the Galice store for food and live music. A bit dated and could have been

Overall a very peaceful and beautiful place to stay. Plenty of room to take a break from one another

Just about everything we needed was there minus the food. Our family was very happy, comfortable, and relaxed. The power went out on our last night and could have provided a couple flashlights for emergencies. Our family had a wonderful time :)

Best Raft Trip Ever

A great option for a group. Ample space indoors and outdoors to cook and socialize, the grill was a welcome addition. Rooms were very large and the carriage house was extremely comfortable. Great location on the river to stop in for lunch during your raft trip. We will absolutely be booking this location again for another year of rafting.

Thank you, Darla, for a wonderful stay! We loved your house, the backyard, the river, and the views. What a wonderful space for a gathering of family fun! Our group was three friends of 30 years plus their families (kids aged 3-12). We will be back!

Peaceful spacious home on the river

This home was plenty spacious for the 9 adults in our group. It was bright and airy and incredibly cozy. There is river access from the house but it’s rocky. We enjoyed the hot tub and the large outdoor lawn. Parking was great too. We’ll be back!

Has it all!

It was perfect for our Cali-Oregon family reunion. Lots of space inside and out, great big windows looking out to gorgeous views, kids were safe to roam, hot tub, river access, bird watching, a bed for everyone... it had everything we were looking for and more. thank you so much!

Beautiful location

Spacious home and overall clean. The location was perfect. Next to the river and close to other public river access that made it easy to go fishing. Day use areas within 5 minutes were great for barbecuing next to the river. My kids and nieces enjoyed it very much. Great kitchen and new dining table that seats 8. If we go back to the area, would stay here again.

Amazing stay

Me and some of my friends stayed at this property for a bachelorette weekend. We had so much fun enjoying the river which is right in the back yard. We also enjoyed playing yard games like volleyball with the volleyball net that is set up. The house was very spacious and clean. Finding the house and getting in was easy. 10/10 recommend!

River fun!

We loved our stay here. Plenty of space for our group of 7. We played volleyball and racquet ball and fished from the bank of the river at the house. We thoroughly enjoyed the Galice store that had food trucks and music on the weekend. We went swimming in the Rouge at Indian Mary park. We stargazed in the hot tub at night. We rafted the rouge with the whitewater cowboys in Merlin. It was a fantastic family vacation and no one wanted to leave!

We will be back!

Darla’s place is absolutely wonderful. It boasts amazing views of the river and plenty of space for the whole family (including a separate cabin). We could not have been more happy with the house. Darla kept and touch and was easy to get a hold of throughout our stay. The only inconvenience was that there were tons of ticks in the yard. We did visit at peak tick season, but it’s something to keep in mind when going outside with kids and pets. Overall, we were very impressed with everything and will definitely be back again very soon!

Great view from the deck

The location and view from the property is great. Deer, wild turkeys, eagles, geese visit every day. Ways to improve the customer experience: Better communication from the host. Email questions would go unanswered for days. Perform some deferred maintenance on the property. The inside is in need of painting, dish washer needs attention, shower valves are loose, you can't lock the sliding glass door. This is to name just a few. Check supplies before a new guest arrives. No dishwashing soap and no kitchen trash bags..we had drive to Merlin to get them. A positive is that the host let us check in early and she was pleasant to deal with.

Barry, Im very sorry to have known about the issues of the dishwasher and shower valves. We have purchased a new dishwahser and tightened the shower valves. Location, Location, Location!

The check in process was easy to follow & we were able to check in on time. If you’re planning a stay, we recommend that you bring your own knives, towels & pillows. All of those items could use replacing. Also, bring plenty of t.p., paper towels & such, as those items are supplied minimally. We know it is not expected for the host to supply those items, but some hosts are more generous than others. The location of this home was spot on & it can sleep a lot of people comfortably, though not necessarily privately. Three couples can sleep privately. We were able to walk to the Galice store & inner-tube down to the house easily. Just hanging out in the river & on the large grassy area in front of the house is lovely as well. We took advantage of all of the amenities the property had to offer, such as the basketball “court”, volleyball/badminton net & hot tub. The hot tub was a little slimy & could have used a good cleaning & treatment. And of course there are many other fun things to do near by such as white water rafting & Jet Boat tours. The property could use some time with a handyman but nothing too serious. We did have two exterior lights that were burned out upon our arrival. It’s our fault that we didn’t address that with the owner right away.Overall, we had a great vacation & enjoyed our stay.
