The Cottage is adorable and was perfect for our family of four. The lake access was incredible; swam, kayaked, and just floated. Close enough to towns for an easy trip with plenty of time left in the day to enjoy the house. Hosts were great too!

Both the property and the hosts (Mark & Deb) are wonderful! Not only is it situated in a beautiful lakeside location, but the house has everything needed for a comfortable stay. The bedrooms overlooking Cayuga Lake were clean and romantic. Certainly a family -friendly getaway that we look forward to returning to in the future!

While the outside of the house appears simple and small, we were very impressed by the great indoor space and the even more incredible view of the lake. The ground floor has an open design with a beautiful lake view. The best part was the variety of outdoor seating, including the two chairs out on the dock by the lake. The kayaks were in great condition and made for some fun paddling out on the lake. We found this location to be great: close enough to easily get to Ithaca, Watkins Glen and vineyards, but also private and on a not-so-busy area of the lake.

This cottage was very comfortable for our family of 3. It is exactly what the listing describes. We found the home very clean and the kitchen well equipped. The beds were comfortable as well. Check in was super easy and when I had a question the host responded immediately. The Lake views are spectacular, we enjoyed the sunrise without leaving our bed. This was a great home to relax and enjoy time away with family. We took the kayaks out a few times and enjoyed fishing right off the dock most days. Great location to explore many wineries, waterfalls and hiking spots. The hosts are very friendly. We will not hesitate to return again!

Great place to spend a long weekend on the lake. The house was clean and had all amenities needed for a comfortable stay. Canoes and swimming in the lake were enjoyed by the whole family. Nice back area where we enjoyed the fire pit in the evenings

Beautiful Lake House

We had everything we needed and if we didn't the hosts made sure we had it. 10 out of 10. Beds were comfortable, the shower was wonderful and the decor so perfect. I loved having my coffee on the upper deck in the morning and the campfires at night. You couldn't ask for a nicer lake house or hosts to assure you have a fantastic stay. We were able to use Deans Cove to launch our boat and it was right next door. Couldn't be more convenient. My grandsons loved being able to swim right there and it was so relaxing hearing the water right outside your door Worth the stay for sure. Thanks Mark and Debbie!

Best trip ever!!!

When we got to the house, we went in the side door and thought only the top level would be where we would stay. However, once we discovered the stairs to the lower level, we were utterly captivated by the sheer spaciousness and beauty of the home. The abundance of windows flooded the space with natural light, and both bedrooms featured sliding doors that opened onto a deck with breathtaking, unobstructed views of the lake. Everything about this house was flawless—spotless, modern, and fully equipped with every amenity you need. There were windows everywhere. Both bedrooms have sliding doors to a deck and a full lake view. Everything in the house was perfect! It was spotless, new, and had everything we needed. Believe me when I say EVERYTHING! This house is not only stunningly beautiful, but also so comfortable and cozy. There is a backyard with a fire pit that makes you feel like you are ON the lake and a beautiful dock to fish off or lie in the sun. The owners are wonderful, accommodating people. They were there to assist in any way they could and were so fast to respond. My daughter and I plan on returning at least once a year to enjoy this house's peace and serenity. I cannot say enough about how perfect this property is. It is AMAZING!!!

This was by far the cleanest, most well stocked and most newest appliances in a Finger Lakes home we have rented!! The house and grounds were beautiful and all the furniture inside and out was extremely comfortable. Our host Mark answered all questions very promptly and the views from the house are stunning. You will not be disappointed staying here. Convenient to many wineries, beautiful state parks and waterfalls as well. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!!!!

The Next Chapter

After years of hard work, raising a family, and countless early mornings, we found ourselves standing on the front porch of our lakeside cottage, looking out over the calm waters of Cayuga Lake. Retirement was here, and with it, the freedom to finally slow down and savor life at a different pace. But we weren’t quite ready for full stillness—there was still a spark of adventure left in us.

The idea of what if we could share this piece of paradise with others? We wanted others to experience that magic, too. So, we took a leap and decided to transform our beloved home into a short-term rental.

With some careful planning, a little paint, and a lot of love, we made our cottage into a cozy haven, blending comfort with rustic charm. We created a place where guests could wake up to the sunrise over the lake, sip a glass of local wine as the sun dipped below the horizon, and enjoy the quiet serenity that we’d come to cherish so much. Every corner of the house told a story—whether it was a hand-carved piece of wood from our early days, a vintage find from a trip, or a photograph of our family’s adventures.

Opening the door to guests brought a whole new kind of joy. We got to meet people from all walks of life—families escaping the city, couples seeking a romantic weekend, solo travelers looking for peace. We shared our favorite spots on the wine trail, recommended hiking paths, and often ended up sitting by the fire pit with our guests, swapping stories about life, love, and the beauty of slowing down.

Retirement wasn’t about sitting still—it was about starting something new, something that allowed us to continue living with purpose. Every guest who stepped through our door became a part of our story, and in return, they left with their own memories. Our little cottage had gone from being just a home to a welcoming space for others to find peace and joy, just like we had.

View Aurora has just been renovated from top to bottom, including all new furnishings. This little cottage has every thing you need for a comfortable stay. Upper level has 3 cozy bedrooms, full bath, washer and dryer and a main entrance making it easy to drop off your luggage. Don't for get to check out the upper coffee bar that makes it convenient to step out on the deck and catch the sunrise. Lower level offers ceiling to floor windows allowing for the perfect lake view. Kitchen includes full size stove, refrigerator and dishwasher. We'd love to hear your feedback.

The cottage is a 3 bedroom, 1 1/2 bath 2 story house. The Master bedroom has a King bed. The Guest bedroom has a Queen bed. The Bunk room has one bunk bed that sleeps 2.
