We enjoyed the beautiful view of the lake, toes in the water, evening fire on the beach. Only a short walk into downtown Alpena where we listened to live music and sampled from the local breweries. Restaurant recommendations in the welcome and review book were very helpful

Great stay with a great central location! The toys for our toddler was a huge plus. Thank you for being so kind during a difficult time for our family as well.

This was the perfect place to stay at for our family vacation. The location was great, the house was clean, and there were extra little amenities in the house that added a nice touch. The downtown was either a quick couple minute drive or a nice 15ish minute walk by the water. I would definitely recommend this as a place to stay!

This house was the perfect getaway destination for someone who was just looking for a rest from busy life. Walking out the back door onto the beach, feeling the breeze, and listening to the waves was beyond peaceful. The house was beautiful and had everything we were looking for. Jennie was super responsive to messages and was a great host! I hope to stay again next time I'm in Alpena!

Amazing house on the shore of Lake Huron. Very comfortable. There were many items provided (beach towels, sun tan lotion, snacks, water in bottles). Great deck to look out at the water. Amazing sunrise.

Wonderful place on the beach front

We had a great stay. The house was cozy and the location is wonderful. Direct access to the lake. The kid had a blast swimming in the lake. There were plenty of complimentary snacks. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need. The only shortcoming is everyone needed to share one shower, so it takes a bit of coordination if need to get out early in the morning.

Fresh Breath of Air

Absolutely beautiful property. So relaxing and refreshing. Anything and everything you could ask for they had available. Close to everything but you would never know while enjoying the beach. Charming but modern. Would highly recommend.

Overall, we had a pleasant stay. The house was spacious and quite comfortable (although I wish it had a coffee table!). The beach toys were a huge hit with our kids, the walking distance to a splash pad and playground was a pleasant surprise. It's located right on the main road, so quick & easy access to everywhere we wanted to go.The listing failed to mention that there is a massive industrial complex (one of North America's largest cement-producing facilities, as it turns out!) just a few hundred yards down the beach. Having that constantly in the background really took away from the peaceful and picturesque beach vacation I was expecting. The house also has a musty smell, which made me wonder about mold/mildew. I wish a few more details in the house had been more closely tended to - the grill had no propane, the shower curtain should've been replaced a long time ago, we found the dryer stuffed with wet towels.Jennie was very responsive to messages but I didn't want to spend my vacation managing requests so we just focused on the positives during our stay.
