Drew and Carly are amazing hosts! They accommodated our son that is a paraplegic in a wheelchair greatly! Plenty of space for our huge family get together of 5 kids 4-12 age and 12 adults. Kids stayed occupied between the huge yard, river and game room. It was an amazing stay and will be back. Love Yancey County area for the small towns and the slow down! Support local shops and more!

The whole place was clean and welcoming. Everyone in our party had a great place to sleep. The kids enjoyed the grounds and the adults too. The kitchen accommodations were perfect as well as the dining room. The host was kind and welcoming and willing to do anything to make our stay comfortable. We would definitely go back and recommend this property.

We had a mini-family reunion at Drew's home and could not have had a more pleasant stay. Everytime we thought we had seen it all, there was another surprise (like the climbing wall). We especially loved spending time around the fireplace (s'mores!) and in the gameroom. There was enough space to spread out but also plenty of room to be together. The weather was sunny and warm and we had two days of tubing down the river. We only spent 1 day in Asheville, which we could've passed on, and the rest of the time we just chilled out. There were a number of close trails from easy to strenuous, but Mt. Mitchell was closed for repairs. We also got to spend time with Drew and Carly and got to milk Blossom the cow and hold some chickens. They were amazing hosts, the home was super-clean with almost every amenity you could think of, and just an all-around superb stay.

Our family of 13 (with kids and grandkids) loved our time at this property. We had a rainy weekend and had plenty of fun at the house and grounds.The house itself is complicated with regard to layout. The bedrooms in the guest house had their own bathrooms as did the king bedroom. The other three bedrooms, all in the main house, have a separate hallway with several bathrooms and toilets that serve the whole house. This actually worked fine but might be difficult for elderly or children under 5.This is a great destination property with so many ways to enjoy your stay. Highlights were the hot tub, a great gameroom (which doubles as a theater room), fantastic outdoor fireplace with chimney (with ample wood on hand to burn), access to the Toe River on the property. I could go on. There was a lot of open field space around the house which our 6 grandkids used constantly for soccer and volleyball. There is a lot to do in the area, but there is plenty to do if you want to stay put. The hosts/owners were always quick to respond to any needs and we felt a deep sense of welcome. We hope to visit again in the future.

This was a perfect location for our group. It had plenty of clean rooms and open space for us to spread out. The back fireplace was especially popular with our group - just a great place to hang around and relax.

We had a wonderful experience here! Prior to our trip Drew was very responsive and helpful in our planning. Upon our arrival Drew and Carly were so hospitable and kind! Our group enjoyed the game room, the cozy fireplaces, and the outdoor fireplace during our rainy stay.

This place is really as good as it gets. What a fun weekend. Super easy, huge property, and just the most funky unique spot you can imagine! We have been twice and will be back again soon!

We enjoyed our second stay

We have now stayed at this property twice and had a great time both visits. There is plenty of space and they have made some nice updates. We particularly enjoy the outdoor fireplace.

Wonderful large home

This house was perfect for our family reunion. There are so many places to gather - inside, outside with lots of amenities. Highly recommend this home if you need a large place to gather.

Wonderfully Unique Experience for Families

Stayed with 6 kids (all under 10) who absolutely loved this place - between the slide, swing, hot tub, game room, and million places to explore the kids never once got bored and were sad to leave after a full week. A wonderful place to connect with family.

Space for Our Large Family!

We had a wonderful stay! We chose the best weekend full of snow! We loved the huge fireplace, the hot tub, the very well stocked kitchen, the playroom building where we watched the NFL playoffs, and plenty of comfortable sleeping quarters! Great weekend!

We enjoyed this property so much! The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed. The neighborhood was quiet. There were plenty of common areas in the house so we could spread out and we enjoyed the separate game room on the property. All the bedrooms were comfortable and well stocked with extra blankets. Our host was very responsive and went the extra mile to answer questions and even send pictures to make sure we had what we needed. Would definitely stay here again!

Drew’s place is incredible! Perfect for a multi-family gathering. From the slide to the fireplaces to the hot tub to the game room - not to mention the expansive property within walking distance of the creek. There are ample spaces to hang, and lots of room to spread out. Kitchen is well stocked and bedrooms are comfortable and well-appointed. Drew was very responsive when we needed him. 5 stars!

Mountain Golf Trip
