Een korte 30 mijl rijden van Missoula, Trouthaus is een klein huisje met een groot gevoel ... 2 slaapkamers, 1 bad met een grote keuken opgezet voor de persoon die koken geniet. De wenteltrap, gemaakt van log, is het middelpunt van dit huis leidt naar de master slaapkamer op de vliering. De open haard is een kunstwerk, uit door ramen ingesteld aan beide zijden met een prachtig uitzicht op de bergen. Slechts een korte wandeling langs de stenen trap en door de bossen zet je op de beek vissen ...

Beautiful cabin and home base along lower Rock Creek. Place is in great shape and has everything you need with great views and privacy. You couldn't get into the river at the property with the high bank and fast water, but access points for wading are close by.

Trouthaus is a very cozy log home along the Rock Creek. We arrived to a very clean and very comfortable home. There is no air conditioning but using the "Mountain Airconditioning" guidance posted we were able to keep the house comfortably in the high 70's at most while outside temperatures went into the mid 90's. Sleeping in main bedroom/loft with the windows open allowed a cool comfortable cross breeze while listening to the burbling waters of the creek. Breakfast on the deck couldn't have been nicer. Surprising absence/low amount of pesky flies compared to home(Wisconsin). The kitchen is easily the best appointed one amongst all the VRBO's I've rented. I like to cook and this is a cook's kitchen. I do fish but didn't this trip because I was with my wife and we had a full menu of shared activities. That said you can see that many come to Rock Creek to fish. There is a fishing access point on the other side of the fence and a gate in the fence to facilitate access. Waters were clear and looked easily wadable, but I'd always recommend a wading staff just to be safe. There are easily 3 or 4 pull over points on Rock Creek Road that also lend themselves to local fishing. Rock Creek is rated by many as one of the top fishing destinations in the area and you're staying righ at it. Tons of wildlife in the area, we saw deer, big horn sheep and moose. We used the home as a base for day trips in the area and it worked out great. We plan on returning.

Great place to relax or fish

Comfortable, very clean, and well supplied. The deck is fabulous and the property managers friendly and helpful. If you plan on using the top bunk bed, beware there is little room between the mattress and ceiling. All else is great.

Beautiful Cabin

First of all, Debra the property’s host was a very kind human. She stopped by to make sure we were all settled in. Wonderful person, thank you Debra. Overall, the cabin is very clean and well stocked with nice appliances, dishes, pots and pans, etc. The most stocked Vrbo I’ve ever stayed at. Everything around the property was amazing, river, trails, etc. We brought everything for our entire week stay and took advantage of everything the property offered, fire place, home cooked meals and all. Thanks again Debra we had an amazing Christmas week at the cabin.

Awesome Cabin, Awesome place to fish and hike.

Had a romantic fishing getaway to Trouthaus and loved it. The weather was great, Rock Creek was beautiful and fun to explore and fish. The cabin is very comfortable, the kitchen is well appointed with nice cookware, dishes , glassware, etc. We used the upstairs bedroom and the bed and linens were great. Wood burning fireplace was a must when we got in from fishing, so cozy and warm. We saw mountain goats, moose, deer, eagles, a couple of cute raccoons in a tree out back. You can walk directly out to the river and fish. We also drove up stream about 11 miles. Fishing was OK, we finally got some Cutthroat and rainbows using dry files. Very FUN! Hope to get back to fish Rock Creek again. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Great long weekend stay

We stayed here over memorial day weekend with myself, my wife, my 4 year old boy and our dog. This was a new area for us so we booked with no idea what to expect. The cabin was perfect for a getaway. It is very cosy, wood burning fire place, the property is right on the river. The cabin is maybe 150 yards off the river. The beds are all comfortable, the cookware was very nice, the appliances are also really nice for a vacation rental. It is really well stocked with paper towels, dish soap, sponges, cooking oils etc. The Weber grill is hardlined into the larger on site propane tank. The area was beautiful, whole we didn't fish (actually didn't know this was such a popular fishing area), the river was very high anyway and moving swift, we really enjoyed exploring the area and trails. The wood burning fire was perfect to relax. And the property was plenty big for the kid and the dog to burn off energy while we relaxed. We would definitely return here and are happy we found the place for future visits.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 4-night stay at Trouthaus. This cabin had everything we needed and served as a great central spot for exploring all the fishing spots along Rock Creek. The kitchen was fantastic, fully equipped for cooking every night. I’ll definitely recommend this place to others!
