As part of our departure/check-out instructions, we note the following: "TRASH: Remove trash. Rural Ashe County does not have trash pickup. Trash should be taken to local convenience centers using the decal provided. The garbage/convenience centers are not open on Sundays and most federal holidays. Should you leave BAGGED trash, use the proper receptacles and compensate your housekeeper for the extra work with a tip; otherwise, charges may occur." We understand this process may be different from what you've experienced elsewhere, and we appreciate your feedback. Regarding the back door, thank you for bringing your concern to our attention. We have not received any other reports of the door failing to lock. The home was professionally cleaned prior to your arrival, and no issues with the door were reported during the inspection or cleaning. Even so, we appreciate you letting us know and will continue to monitor it to ensure everything is functioning properly. Thank you again for your feedback. We’re thrilled to hear the cabin, kitchen setup, porch, and peaceful setting helped make your anniversary getaway special. It means a lot to know you felt comfortable and well-equipped during your stay. We also sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding regarding the unexpected water issue. While we’re grateful we were able to get things resolved, we completely understand how stressful and frustrating it was to experience that interruption—especially on such an important occasion. Unfortunately, getting a plumber out quickly can sometimes be challenging, but please know we were doing everything possible behind the scenes to restore service as fast as we could. We were happy to compensate you in an abundant way to show our sincere remorse to you. We’re especially thankful for your kind words about the owner’s responsiveness and care, that was actually our property manager, Sherrie. At the same time, we’re very sorry that your communication experience through the VRBO messaging system did not reflect the level of hospitality and support we strive to provide. We are happy to report that the plumber replaced the well pump so water has been restored. Thank you again for staying with us and for your graciousness throughout a difficult situation. Thank you so much for taking a moment to leave a review. The roadway is a secondary private gravel road but it is in excellent condition as well as the gravel driveway. Yes I can see that it being leaf covered in the fall could cause a bit of questioning. The home is supplied with starter paper towels, bathroom tissue, trash bags, sealed individual shower soaps, hand pump hand wash, dish detergent, laundry detergent and linens. We do not provide shampoo and conditioners as most persons have specific products for their hair. We have checked the solar lighting since your stay and found it to be working as did other guests after your stay. We are available to be reached 8am to 10pm with our phone number for guests. We are very responsive to emails as well. We automatically email guests their check in information and cabin information as well as provide an easy guest app to find all info. We are always here for our guests.
