Any review we receive that is less than ideal is very upsetting to us. Our review score over the past 20 years speaks for itself. However, we fall short, and big or small, these shortcomings must be addressed. There are two issues in this review, cleanliness and HVAC and I'll address them separately. Though it had just been cleaned, our renter was unhappy just after arrival. We have addressed the issues. We apologized and have returned some funds for the cleaning she felt was necessary. In a text to me, she self-described as a "clean freak" & here, stated "it had not been properly cleaned in quite some time". We had guests the weekend prior and the 3 days prior to her arrival and no one had an issue with the conditions. Standards for 'everyone' can be hard to meet. Anytime you experience a major system failure (HVAC, water, power) it is going to be difficult to provide a completely satisfying rental experience. We made this guest aware of the situation within 20 minutes of our finding out. Told of the situation and options they elected to stay anyway. We should NOT have allowed that to happen. Even though temperatures were mild it was a bad decision on our part. Due the to the time of year, getting a tech out to remedy this situation in a timely fashion proved impossible. Again, we are sorry and obviously we refunded the renter for the nights they did not stay at our cabin.

I'm disappointed to read that our cleaning crew left some things in a less than acceptable condition. We will strive to do better. Especially in the kitchen area. Thank you for your remarks and we hope that the rest of the stay was pleasant.

It is our policy to provide general condiments to the guests so they don't have to purchase these items if needed. Other foods left are to be removed by the cleaning service. We will make certain that is clear with them. We also attempt to provide bottled shampoos and soaps. Again personal items are too be removed. The bridge work is new to us also and we should have updated that in our packet. Great suggestion and hopefully it will be finished in short order. Thank you for your comments.
