Great Space on the Lake

Great place to have a family vacation, right on the lake. Plenty of room in the house and well equipped for cooking and grilling. Had a great weekend.

Overall this property is a hit ✨️ The location is great, its not too far from restaurants & stores, neighbors are nice and the home is spacious and beautiful.

Lake house

The lake was beautiful and very quiet. The kids loved the slide which was a bonus. The house was also within driving distance to south haven and saugatuck so we took advantage of that as well.

Great house in great location

We thoroughly enjoyed this roomy vacation house. While Temps were not suitable to enjoy the lake (Michigan's problem, not the houses) we would love to come back to enjoy that part of the property. The host was great and super responsive to the minor issues we encountered.

WMU Spring Graduation

We really enjoyed our stay in this awesome beach house. We celebrated our daughter's graduation from WMU. The location is very close. Jeff the owner, was very flexible with a couple of requests we had. It is a large house to gather with family and friends. We may be back when it warms up. Thank you again Jeff!

Enjoyable stay

We had an enjoyable stay. The lake was great. The house was good. The pictures confused us—there was a bed in a hallway we weren’t expecting (we expected it in a room). Our biggest complaint was the cleanliness. It look us a lot of time to clean the house to make it more comfortable for us. There was trash in the can when we arrived and it took us a long time mopping the floors to get them clean. There were also a lot of ants the first night and they seemed to go away. We had a good experience with the lake and we had fun at the house. The house had all the things we needed.

Perfect spot for family vacation

We enjoyed a long weekend at this property with my parents, siblings, and all our kids (6 total ages 4-11). It was the perfect location, close enough to Kalamazoo for dinners out and city conveniences, but tucked away on a quiet, clean lake. The beach and back yard were wonderful with lots of outdoor seating and the raft/slide was a hit. The kids loved the beach and the soft sand of the lake. The house had everything we needed. It was nice to have paper products provided. The kitchen was well appointed to cook for 12 people. We loved the open concept with the kitchen, dining room, and family room. Laundry was a huge plus! For our family, the sleeping space was a bit tight with three kids sleeping in the daybed area that lead to the master, but it is completely fair to say it sleeps 13. (We didn't use the pull out couch in the family room.) Highly recommend this rental to others! Jeff was great to work with - very responsive and wanted to ensure everything went smoothly. Thank you!

Our graduation getaway at the Lake house

Overall we enjoyed our stay at the Lake house~ Jeff G. our host was extremely responsive, kind, helpful and sincere in doing everything he could to help us before, during and after our stay at his Bnb home. He happily answered dozens of my questions, apologized for any inconveniences and generously shared many family things to ensure that we enjoyed our visit to the fullest!!:-) Pros~ The property, though set pretty close to the neighbors, is a nice and well kept property with beautiful lake views and not an overabundance of noise or business There was plenty of bed space, some family games to enjoy, a nice table to eat at and Enough sitting space The kitchen was stocked fairly well We seemed to have plenty of hot water and lots of towels, soaps, toiletries etc. Jeff and his wife were super patient when we had a family emergency and had to check out much later than planned Cons~ I was not pleased with the cleanliness of the lake house and had to spend a lot of extra time cleaning before settling in and during our stay. For example, the floors were not mopped, the kitchen cupboards looked like they had not been cleaned in a very long time, and the carpets were pretty stained up. Early in our stay, A repair man had to fix the fridge and look at the washer We could not use the fireplace since the key was lost and the buttons would not work for us Parts of the stove did not work Even so, Jeff did his best to make this stay as comfortable & fun as possible!!

Great for families with kids!

This was our yearly family lake house vacation and we had 7 adults and 5 kiddos ages 1-6. The house has a great sandy beach area, the water was nice, most of the kids could go out to end of pier, and the kids caught tons of fish one right after the other from the pier and back of docked boat. The 4 and 6 year old found a play tent upstairs where they slept at night, which was fun. Beds comfortable. Seating for our large group was eh....we made it work. Gas grill a plus. My biggest negative was definitely the kitchen. There was no storage space at all for food...so the boxes/bags were all in the bedroom by kitchen. Cabinets were all full of stuff. Three weeks prior to our stay we were lead to believe there was a second refrigerator for use in the garage because there was a new one for house. Garage was unlocked when we arrived so we used that for drinks, meat, extra eggs...until Tuesday when we were told not for renters use. Then we had to use coolers and buy ice. Trash wasn't picked up as scheduled so we were storing trash bags in a storage closet until we left. We were also told would get a message late Sunday morning with code to get in. Had arrived and it took close to 45 minutes for a response with a code and no instructions. We've been doing this for 15 years now and for the money we pay I expect a WOW factor when I walk in. Needs some updating and some maintenance and some cleaning, but we had a FABULOUS week and that's what matters the most. Thanks for mailing magnet!

It was as stated on VRBO so no negative surprises when we got there. Very nice property.

We really enjoyed our week at Eagle Lake at this property. There were 10 adults & 2 toddlers with room for all of us. Very kid-friendly home & beach. We did rent a pontoon boat & were really glad we did so as the lake has a great sandbar where we spent a lot of time. We would definitely go back!

Wonderful Relaxing Vacation

Jeff was an excellent person to deal with. Very professional and his property exceeded our expectations. As parents of small children, we were very happy to find toys for them to play with, including toy car for my 3 year old zoom around on and a pop up tent to make a fort in the living room. Outside, we had snow ball fights and really enjoyed exploring the property which was peaceful and lovely. Looking forward to future visits.

Quite private getaway

We were looking for some lake property to get away and relax, yet close enough to the city to find some good restaurants. After labor day the lake was near empty affording us some quiet pristine walks around the lake. Jeff and his family were great host, and assisted us with a few items we desired to make the vacation complete Thanks

Review of cottage stay

We loved staying at this cottage. The water was clear, fishing was good, and the beach was perfect for our 5 very young grandchildren (4 yrs & under). There were ample beds for everyone to sleep (3 families), was close to free Children's Museum in Kalamazoo, wineries, shopping, etc. A very nice cottage, lake, and friendly neighbors. We had a GREAT time!

GREAT VACATION!!!!

We had a great family vacation! This place worked out so well for our family. We loved the wonderful house, beach and fishing (our 5 year old grandson caught 59 fish, mostly off the pier). The beach had a gradual slope that was great for the grand kids (ages 3 & 5). Jeff was easy to work with and very helpful. Brent the boat guy was very accommodating. We had a full house and had plenty of room for everyone. We ate almost every meal outside and had a fire every night. It's been about a month since we were there and we're still talking about all the fun we had!!!
