My siblings an I spent an amazing weekend at this charming and historic home. The location couldn't have been better- close to the beach- on a quiet lovely street with friendly neighbors, but what is most striking is the porch where we ate breakfast, lunch and supper and spent evenings conversing and catching up and making memories. The house may have a few quirks- but we loved everyone of them. We honestly can't wait to come back and hope this will be a gathering place for years to come!!!!! We have so much yet to explore in the area- if we can ever pry ourselves off the porch. We truly hope to be able to able to go on a lighthouse cruise which sounds amazing!!! Perhaps we'll simply have to try to book a longer stay :)

Quick Family Getaway

The house was a great size and location for what we needed. The location was amazing and the place was perfect for our family. The rooms were great and the Jane was right there to answer any questions.

This quirky older home had everything we needed for a terrific multi-generational stay. The glorious wrap around porch became the hangout, entertaining space, and an office. I don’t think we turned the TV on all week since we all were drawn to the porch. We watched a storm roll through, enjoyed the ocean breezes and celebrated together. Well equipped with plenty of beach chairs and towels to hit the nearby private beach. It is not a fussy, high-end place, which suited us well for relaxing comfortably. It was welcoming and beachy, and the hosts were great.

We loved the house and the closeness to the beach. We walked the beach every day. The house was quirky and unique and we had a great time. So grateful for the extra showers in the basement. That made so much sense.

Memorial Day weekend getaway

My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The giant wrap around porch was our favorite hangout spot. The neighborhood was great for walking. The proximity of the beach was great. Plenty of space for group. Everyone left with big smiles ❤️

Fantastic location

This house is amazing. It has a wrap around porch that has a continuous breeze. Located one block from the entrance to the main beach but also has private beach access. The house has it quirks but that just adds to the charm. One of the few houses with air conditioning. Jane and Dave are awesome to work with!!

Great long weekend

The house is lovely and just as described. The beach is close and even in October it’s a nice beach walk to take in the sights. The owner was very responsive when I had a question due to my own confusion. We will definitely come back!

Easy check in, plenty of linen and kitchen products. Plenty of space for the family to spread out and have family fun time. Private beach was the highlight of the area. Only issue was other private beach goers once gave us a hard time for having a sun shade and not all the other visitors were polite but we guessed they were also renters so probably a one off. Plenty of provided beach chairs and fun one person kayak to use. Lots of fun local spots to checkout, places to eat, and easy access to historical and attractions. We were busy all week!

Classic Beach Property - Wonderful

Everyone in our group enjoyed this property. Owner was responsive to our questions. Private beach is very close, and very scenic! Two basement showers made beach-to-home transition very simple (especially nice for kids)! We spent much time enjoying the porch - it's a great feature. There are also great activities located within a short distance. We will keep this on our 'do it again' list!!

USCGA Grad Week

Perfect spot for my family to stay for my daughters college graduation. The beach was beautiful and a short walk to the house. The house itself has a large porch with chairs to enjoy coffee in the morning. The inside was classic New England charm. We hosted a small family picnic, with plenty fo space for our guests. The hosts communicated well throughout the process.

New London Ocean Beach

Our stay was wonderful! The host could not be more accommodating. The location was perfect, just a very short walk to either a private beach or Ocean Beach Park. We enjoyed eating breakfast of the lovely porch and being greeted by hummingbirds every morning. The house was lovely, typical of 1900's. Being so old, it had some idiosyncracies but they made for great stories! I am so happy we chose this rental for our family vacation.

Once again, our family enjoyed the hospitality of this host! We had stayed there last year so we were prepared for the idiosyncrasies of a house of this age. The wrap around porch was our favorite "haunt". We could watch the fireworks from Ocean Beach park while relaxing with a glass of wine. We ate breakfast in the morning on the porch while watching the hummingbird. The beach was maintained beautifully. And, not to be omitted, our host was so very responsive..a true delight! Thanks

Wonderful week

Great location, short walk to private beach. We met people from the neighborhood, who along with the owners made suggestions for dining, ice cream, activities which we really appreciated. The house was spacious and had practically everything we needed. The living room is very comfortable with plenty of seating, the dining room large and bright and we just loved the porch. Lots of furniture to eat outside or just sit and enjoy the breeze. Our grandkids loved looking for crabs and exploring the rock jetties on all the beaches.

Perfect location - pictures do not do it justice

What a lovely stay in Neptune Park! The photos do not do it justice - the inside is freshly painted and new furniture in the family room. This very spacious home has tons of character and everything you need to enjoy your time there. Jane was so responsive and we all had a wonderful time in this very special home. The kids loved the close access to Ocean Beach Park, but they also loved the rental beaches accessible through the rental. We are so happy we found this gem!

A great place for our family vacation

We had a great time. We enjoyed the private beach and some great restaurants near by. The traffic on Sunday heading to Ocean Beach Park took us by surprise and forced us to find back roads to get back to the place in a timely fashion. Owners were very responsive to our needs, place is very well equipped, internet was good. A little upgrade to some acc units in the bedrooms would make it even more perfect. And an all around shower curtain in the upstairs bathroom would be very nice. Gunther

Glorious graduation weekend

We loved this home which we rented while attending my sons graduation weekend at Connecticut College. It is absolutely charming with spacious rooms, beautiful, woodwork, and tons of personality. The property was just as advertised, communication with the owners was top notch, and the house was spotless when we arrived. Though we spent much of our time over the weekend at the college, the time we spent at this home was lovely. We enjoyed gathering for breakfast on the large, wraparound deck, a couple of morning swims from the beautiful Neptune beaches a mere block from the property, and some short walks in the neighborhood. Altogether, a delightful stay!

Perfect location

This is a must stay home. It has the charm of a historical home with a gorgeous wrap around porch. It has some quirky attributes, but it just adds to the ambiance of the place. There is always a wonderful cross breeze. Located on the corner and a 5 minute walk to the public with added access to the private beaches. The owners were wonderful to work with. Quick to respond to messages and provided personal phone numbers to contact them for anything! They also provide extra beach necessities so that you don’t have to pack them in your travels. Already booked again for next year!

Unforgetable!

This home provided the perfect place for us to gather and celebrate our daughter’s USCGA commencement. Be ready for some New England charm! Indoor and outdoor seating was plentiful. The kitchen was well equipped for meal prep and serving a group. Beds were comfortable with plenty of extra blankets and pillows as needed. We all enjoyed neighborhood walks and trips to the beach. Jane was immediately responsive to all our questions. A week was not enough time to enjoy all that this home had to offer. We would definitely stay here again.

Graduation Weekend

This house was great for a weekend in May when our daughter was graduating from Connecticut College. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, and the full bath area in the basement makes the house much more functional for larger groups. On a big beach day, expect traffic around the house, but it's a block or two to the beach, which is really beautiful and provides access to Ocean Beach, or 4 smaller private beach areas to the East. The kitchen is best for dealing with largely prepared foods, although everything is there to cook simple meals. Supermarket close by, and plentiful take-out options as well.

A Old Timey home on the Connecticut Shore

This is a very delightful place, with a wrap around porch which is perfect for long conversations. The living room is also wonderful for paying games, and having conversatons. The kitchen, while small, had everything we need to cook and clean. One thing to be aware of. The downstairs does not have curtains, so there is something of a fishbowl effect. All in all, we were very happy with the house, and the Neptune Beach neighborhood.

Quaint Home a Block from the Beach

This VRBO experience was outstanding. Our communication with the property owners was superior. They answered all of our questions and helped us with additional information about the area (i.e., Restaurants, local attractions, bracelets to get into the private beaches, nearby, etc.). The home was immaculate. The wraparound porch with furnishings was absolutely the “cherry on top.” The home was furnished nicely, had games and beach items to play with, and all the amenities a home would need. The neighborhood was very nice, and the neighbors were extremely friendly. I highly recommend that anyone staying in the New London, Groton area for any occasion stay here.

Great for 7 adults having a family gathering.

We had a lovely time in New London and the house was all we expected. Owners were very accommodating and the neighborhood was really nice, only a short walk to lovely beaches. We were glad to be informed of the dip in the porch floor but I don't recall reading about it affecting the 3 front bedrooms (maybe I missed it). It wasn't really a problem although we had to be careful as one of the party is handicapped. The rooms were all quite spacious and it was nice to be able to have everyone in the dining room together for meals and everyone was able to have their own room. (We were 2 couples and 3 singles). The only downside was having just a single bathroom on the second floor with a shower that had a huge tub. As we are all senior citizens, climbing in and out of the tub was problematic so that meant going to the basement for the showers. But for a weekend, we made do and had a lovely time.

This house was the perfect location for visiting the beach and the other house our extended family rented the same week. The wraparound porch was especially lovely for morning coffee and evening chats. We would definitely stay here again!
