Cozy Maine Cabin near the beach

Great location, close walk to beach, loved the canoe and paddle boards. Our dogs had fun too!

Beautiful property. The house was set up for both comfort and entertainment. I really appreciated that there were plenty of games, toys, confortable couches, and a ping pong table! The mattresses on the beds were amazing. Best sleep I'd had in months!

The stay was great! The location was very good. The firepit was so fun each night. The game room was excellent! We had two little ones and they were so entertained with the Lincoln logs, wooden train set, leggos and more! It was so nice they were not on their devices all night! Thank you Tim!

Cozy and Quaint with Space

Such an eye pleasing place to stay. Well appointed kitchen and tons of things for the young adults to do in the evening. Super easy choice for 6 of us versus hotel rooms. Will be back;

Quiet and convenient location

We were up to visit family. The house is very conveniently located to a lot of great places in the area. Plenty of room to move around in the house. Note to self, if they tell you to conserve water, heed their advice.

Acadia Vacation

The house was great and well appointed! We had everything we needed. We especially loved the fire pit and ping pong table. It was the perfect size for a family of 6 plus one dog. The distance to Acadia was a bit longer than we expected -- only 25 miles or so but this translated to 45 mins to an hour - depending on the time of day.

So great to have you stay. We have found a somewhat convoluted back way from Water Street, the right over the bridge in Ellsworth which turns into the Bayside Road, to a left onto Goose Cove Road, and then left on Oak Point Road can cut 5-10 minutes vs Rt 3 from Ellsworth - although you would think that our phones would help us find the fastest way... so maybe traffic has just been a bit heavier this summer. :)

Cozy family cabin in the woods

This property was great for our 2 families. 3 adult and 8 children. This house had everything. There was so much for everyone to do. The location was perfect for us. The kids love being able to take a short walk to the beach and enjoyed swimming in the water daily. My only wish is it was a little closer to Bar Harbor/Arcadia but thw almost hr drive went by fast. I would definitively come back to this home in the future.

Central location for family fun

Positives: Quiet, rustic location-central to all of our activities. Access to beach with kayaks and canoe for sailing was a plus. Well-stocked with needed supplies and activities/games for all ages. Very responsive communications with host. Comfortable beds. Negatives: Unreliable water pressure issues, although host was responsive to plumbing concerns. This is a problem that needs to be addressed before future rental.

Glad so much other than the water pressure drop was to your liking. And yes, we jumped on this with the plumbers, which at first indicated it was sprinklers at the other house that runs off the same well. But then the when we experienced another drop in pressure a few weeks later we decided to install a full primary fresh water supply on top of the well. That 2,500 gallon tank has been working fantastically and leaves the well only as a back up second system to that. It's a fabulous and bulletproof solution! Mother nature has a way of maturing wells over time, or the water table may just be a little lower than usual, but regardless this was the right solution to alleviate the reliance on it. It's been flawless since the change and we are really glad to have a failsafe system in place now. Thanks for your patience!

First vacation in Maine

The house was beautiful and convenient to the private beach. We saw Acadia National Park, Bar Harbour, took a sunset cruise, sampled beers, wines and ice creams! The house had basketball and ping pong as well as plenty of games and puzzles which we used with my adult children. We had plenty of room to gather in the living room with the open floor plan allowing us to talk to people in the kitchen. The house was clean, well stocked with necessities, and the host went above and beyond. It was a very positive experience for everyone.

Home needs some TLC

The property has potential but needs attention. While it accommodates family gatherings, the listing and amenities are somewhat misleading, leading to disappointment. I didn't complain during the stay, but if you're considering renting, here are key points: Pros: - Great location near Acadia/Bar Harbor, perfect for exploring Maine. - Beautiful wooded setting. - Well-equipped kitchen with appliances, dishes, pots, pans, grill, and fire pit. - Games, TV, clean towels, and linens. Cons: - Limited beach access; no private beach. The path is poorly marked, leading to a rocky area, unsuitable for kids or older adults. - Major mold in the downstairs bathroom and a significant leak through the bathroom light fixture when the upstairs shower is used. This was reported to the homeowner, but it's a safety concern. - Unsafe step from the back door to the fire pit, not ideal for kids or elderly guests. - Dead animals in traps near the fire pit, causing a bad smell. - Stained, musty couches in the front room. - The clawfoot tub upstairs is charming but impractical to use. - Leaky faucets in the upstairs bathroom, difficult to turn off. - No trash pickup, a smelly fridge needing cleaning, and a non-working ice maker. - Missing basic supplies like soap, paper towels, or extra trash bags, which would have been nice to have. - Important details are only shared after booking; these should be provided upfront to make an informed decision. Feeling disappointed in this home!

Thanks for the constructive feedback, all good points needing addressing and we have or will! :) In particular, we are replacing the couches for the next season, I guess overdue on that. They had wear and tear this summer that we got behind of. We refreshed the bathrooms and have now addressed these issues, as well as the steps to the back. And gave feedback to the pest service that they need to step up their game for the fees we pay them. We feel confident that the property is now square and will continue to invest to make it better, take all feedback much appreciated. And we're glad that you did fine the positives and great access to all the location provides. Thanks for staying with us.

Beautiful Spot

The house was just as described…. Very clean, comfortable bedding. We loved sitting outside by the fire pit, plenty of wood supply to use. The walk to the beach was lovely, our kids loved using the canoe and paddle board. The only con was that the stove and microwave were not working well….. just something for the owners to check into!

Lovely home in the woods, near ocean

2 senior citizen couples shared this house for 4 nights. There was more than enough space. We enjoyed having a bathroom for each couple and the fact that 2 bedrooms were on the ground floor as stairs were difficult for one couple. We had fun with the ping pong table and indoor basketball game and played one of the provided board games. Would have liked to use the canoe but had 2 days of rain so ran out of time to do that. WE did not cook here but there were plenty of spices, salt, pepper and other cooking basics and condiments available if you wanted to do that. Upstairs bathroom was also stocked with bandaids, sunscreen, bug spray etc. If you forgot something you would probably find it here. Property is not ocean front or ocean view but just a short walk (100 to 200 feet?) away on a road with minimal traffic as there is only 6 or so houses on it. This property would be ideal for families with children as there is so much provided to keep the kids busy and having fun indoors as well as outdoors. Also property is about 1/2 hour drive to Acadia National park (at least in Sept. after Labor Day!)

Exceeded expectations

This is my dream home! It’s even better than the pictures (the layout is more open that I imagined). It served as a fantastic homebase during our trip with 8 friends to explore Surry, Acadia & Bar Habor (40 min to Bar Harbor). The location is quiet and relaxing and the beach access is a great bonus. Be sure to check out the stars on a clear night! We enjoyed cooking meals, playing games (ping pong, basketball, tons of board games), and just hanging out. It’s clean with comfortables beds & fully stocked with all of your needs. There’s a great firepit area and a grill out back. We also loved that we could bring our pup & didn’t have to leave him behind.

Perfect Maine vacation

This house in Surry was perfect for our family. The photos don’t do it justice - there is so much light and the layout was really great. We had three kids under the age of 8 and the house was wonderful for them. There were lots of activities and wooden toys and games stocked in the house. We didn’t even need to bring toys. The house seems to be very loved by the owners - it was well supplied and everything is neatly organized in drawers and cabinets. Beds and pillows were very comfy, too. We weren’t prepared for the early Maine sunrises so my only wish was for shades on the bedroom windows. Other than that, pretty perfect! We’d definitely stay here again.

Beautiful setting, clean

Beautiful setting in the woods and easy walk to the beach. Very responsive host. Clean, old house. A bit cluttered for our taste but it certainly came in handy when I needed a pair of water shoes to go to the beach! We didn’t have kids with us but school aged children would love all the games.
