Rustiek twee verdiepingen tellend appartement in boerderijstijl uit 1850, verbouwd van een voormalige lobsterman's werkplaats. Brede plank (sommige piepende) vloeren, smalle steile trap, ideaal voor mensen die op zoek zijn naar authentieke Maine-eilandcharme. Ouderwets zweefvliegtuig vooraan naast rododendron en rozenstruik krijgt ochtendzonblootstelling. Zo stil met het geluid van ritselende bladeren en meeuwen. Een TempurPedic tweepersoonsbed en twee comfortabele eenpersoonsbedden in een aparte ruimte. Appartement ligt op een geweldige woonlocatie in de buurt van de historische samenleving op de heuvel om gemakkelijk te lopen naar Main Street restaurants, winkels en veerboten. Dichtbij water, maar niet op water, met beperkt uitzicht op Carvers Cove vanuit slaapkamers boven. Goede buurt om te wandelen, geweldig uitzicht op de haven vanaf het nabijgelegen Blueberry Lane. Loop naar adembenemende Lane's Island Preserve of huur fietsen en kajaks in de stad. Dit is geen goede keuze voor mensen die een moderne "chique" plek verwachten. Er zijn bijvoorbeeld geen stopcontacten en schakelaars op elke muur in elke kamer, maar er zijn voldoende lampen, boeken, spelletjes en de keuken is goed gevuld, waaronder een kreeftenpot, een koffiezetapparaat en een broodrooster. De eigenaren zijn misschien in het verbonden huis terwijl je hier bent, maar zijn een rustig stel en er is geen open toegang tussen de ruimtes. Je hebt je eigen ingang. Wij bieden beddengoed en handdoeken. Geen huisdieren, alstublieft. Er is wifi, receptie het beste op de eerste verdieping, maar geen vaste telefoon of tv. AT&T heeft celtorens op het eiland en is de beste keuze voor celservice. Maximale bezetting is twee volwassenen. Overweegt ook een baby of klein kind met ouders. Let op: weergegeven tarief en minimaal verblijf van twee nachten is voor de zomer. We staan open voor nachtelijke verblijven tegen lagere tarieven voor mei en ook half september tot november. This place was adorable! We were looking for something cozy and close to the village and ferry, and it was exactly that! Caleb responded to every question I had for him within minutes and was very helpful with giving us tips about the Island. It was a lovely weekend and would love to come back for another visit!

Perfect

I'm a journalist with Public Radio. Needed a secure easy location close to the harbor for myself and my assistant. The house was perfect as was the location! Town has great restaurants, all walking distance. Neighborhood was very quiet and safe. We had a lot of gear, never worried about it at all. Caleb was a grand host, I will stay here again if the opportunity presents.

This property was exactly as described and perfect for someone looking for an authentic island experience. And Caleb went above and beyond. His tips were much appreciated on the timing on side trips to get the best experience of sunrise and sunset were perfect about swimming at the quarry. But we will never forget his help with the ferry line pass with an impending hurricane. Thank you Caleb. You are an amazing host.

The house is a sweet two bedroom house attached to the house of the owners. It is comfortable and quiet. Caleb was extremely helpful in getting in negotiating the travel which was tricky as the larger ferry is out of service.

Very Sweet and perfect for what we needed.

My boyfriend and I stayed here while visiting Vinalhaven, where I grew up. It was a perfect place to have as a rejuvenating landing place while spending time with friends and family. It was, however, a bit tricky to make plans and reach others due to no phone. We mostly had to rely on the internet and just going to see if our friends and family were home in order to make plans. The simple charm matched that of the island, no need for many bells and whistles. We met Caleb and Anne, his wife while stepping out one morning and they were very kind and instantly easy to like. Thank you for everything!

Wonderful Place to enjoy VH Island

This apartment was a perfect way to enjoy VH island. A nice short walk to town and a very comfortable place from which to enjoy a relaxing week away from the busy of life. The hosts were very helpful, and when we notified them of a leak because of heavy rain they promptly helped us clean it up and resolved the issue! We would recommend a stay here! Thanks!

Affordable and good location

Overall we enjoyed our stay and loved Vinalhaven! The house is older and not fancy but worked fine for my husband and I- it was affordable and close to town/restaurants and the grocery store but a quiet neighborhood. The kitchen could use a medium size pot but we were happy there was a huge pot for cooking lobster and 2 crackers. The steps to upstairs are steep so maybe not good for older people or kids. There are many hiking trails on the island and we were happy we had a car so we could explore beyond town. There is also a quarry nearby where people swim and the Tidewater Inn in town rents bikes and kayaks. Such a beautiful place!

Cute place, well appointed with everything necessary for living confortly.

We were impressed with our communication with the owner. The place was beyond our expectations in both living necessities and decorating. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen well stocked. Location was great. The only complaint I have is a smoke detector low battery alarm during the night.

Simply charming

A perfect apartment for our stay on Vinalhaven. Situated within walking distance to all amenities, we were also pleasantly surprised to be a 20 minute walk from the local swimming hole. It is a bit of a walk from the ferry to the apartment with the last part being uphill, so arranging a ride to and from the dock would be ideal. Other than that you are set. Super comfortable bed with nice linens. The apartment is clean with a lot of unique character, just like the town of Vinalhaven. I highly recommend this place for a couple.

Starr Street Rental

Our rental on Starr Street was comfiortable and economically decorated. There were many interesting pictures, games, puzzles and books to compensate for television or radio. There was wifi, but a landline would have helped us contact friends and family. Overall we enjoyed our stay.
