Summary:
Welcome to Clifton House!
The Space:
Clifton House is a large private estate located on the shores of Lake Ontario, only minutes from the County Cider Company and a number of well-established vineyards. Nestled into 9 acres of wooded surroundings, the main house sits along a small bluff above 1000 feet of pebble beach on the site of a former boys' camp. A fully functioning smaller cabin lies nearby, next to a large meadow. The property offers exceptional 180-degree views of Lake Ontario and a large dock for swimming and water sports.
Waupoos and neighbouring Cressy are renowned havens for cyclists and wine enthusiasts, including Del-Gatto Estates Winery, Cape Vineyards and Waupoos Estates Winery in addition to the County Cider Company and Fifth Town Cheese. Sandbanks Provincial Park can be reached in about 40 minutes by car (two family beach passes included), as can many other lesser-known swimming locales (Little Bluff, Point Traverse). Waupoos Marina can be reached by car in about 5 minutes.
Clifton House has been enjoyed as a summer vacation home by the owner's family for many years and is a cottage-style, split-level house with an extended, 45’ x 30’ rear deck, ample outdoor dining and screened-in gazebo, all overlooking the lake. The lower level has a large recreational room, TV with Roku/Netflix and a bar area with walkout French doors to the water. There is central air conditioning and WiFi in the main house.
The renovated cabin with a King size bedroom, bathroom and small kitchen is a short walk away and includes a new air conditioned/heating unit. Guests using the cabin will share the kitchen in the main house as the cabin only has a bar fridge.
In 2021, the large dock on the lake was extended to 60 feet in length (x 8 feet wide) with a side ramp, allowing all guests comfortable access to the water.
