The house was initially lived in by the factor of the Benmore Estate, and encompasses a wealth of botanical history, consisting of vast charted collections of seedlings from around the globe, including douglas firs, giant conifers, rare species of rhododendron, magnolia and azaleas. The garden has ten acres of exquisite exploring. Recently renovated in 2022 to very high standard whilst keeping traditional characters of the building, with underfloor heating throughout.

Eckford House has wood burning stoves with marble and wooden fireplaces creating a homely and warm ambience. The third bedroom has a double bed with additional sleeping space on a double high quality and comfortable pull-out couch - this room also has own en-suite bathroom. The garden has magnificent waterfall features and trails throughout the garden. A relaxing jacuzzi style hot tub with stunning multicolour LED lighting and bluetooth music system, situated in a log cabin decorated in warm fairy lights; this is situated next to the house perfect, for unwinding after a fun-filled and busy day.

Benmore has lots to offer including Benmore botanical gardens, pucks glen and more spectacular scenery between the mountains and lochs. Dunoon itself is a seaside town filled with quirky shops, cafés, bars and restaurants.
