French doors lead out into the lovely lawned garden with a sitting out area, table and chairs to enjoy an outdoor meal.
Glenesk is on the edge of the small village of Thropton and a 700-yard downhill walk leads to the local pub. Only 2 miles further is the historic market town of Rothbury, with its pretty riverside inns and tea rooms. The National Trust property, Cragside House, in Rothbury makes for a good day out, and its gardens are a delight. Alnwick Castle is only 14 miles away, where you can explore the enchanting gardens and the magnificent castle. Otterburn is easily reached, and you can drive on to Kielder Water and explore the National Park. After a busy day touring, Glenesk makes a welcome retreat to come back to. Beach 17 miles. Shops 2 miles, pub and restaurant 700 yards. Beach 19 miles.
