Casa Primavera - renovated duplex in city centre

Live like a true Madeiran in "Casa da Primavera", a beautifully stylish and authentic house which comfortably sleeps 6. Located in the heart of Funchal while keeping its rustic roots and cozy feel. The three-floor house offers families or couples a space to unwind after a long day of exploring the island and benefits from being located down a quiet passage but still close to all the main attractions in Funchal & transport links.

This traditional Portuguese townhouse "Casa da Primavera" is named after Madeira's notoriety as the island of eternal Spring. We want you to experience the true and authentic Madeira and so refurbished the house in 2018 to the highest modern specification whilst keeping its traditional and local charm. The house features original and restored wooden beams and floors as well as Portuguese inspired 'azulejos' tiled floor.

The house is set over three floors and so has an open-plan feel. The ground floor is a large open-plan living room, dining room which includes a comfortable corner sofa which seats 4. There is a large ultra HD LED TV with cable and we have also added Netflix UHD to the TV too, in case you'd like to stay in and watch a good movie. The lounge also has a bluetooth speaker for you to enjoy. The dining table is extendable including space for 6 and there are 6 chairs which are stackable for easy storage.

The kitchen is separate from the living area and includes a fridge-freezer, oven, stove, microwave, dishwasher, coffee machine, toaster, kettle and all other mod-cons. Off the kitchen is a small utility room with a washer-dryer.

The spiral staircase off the living room leads up to the rest of the house. On the first floor the master bedroom is situated off a small hallway and includes a large double bed, comfortable mattress, fresh 100% cotton bedding, two side tables with reading lamps and a chest of drawers. The hallway includes more closets and drawers for your clothes and personal belongings. The master bathroom includes a bath tub and power shower, toilet, large sink and storage. Fresh towels will be provided.

The second floor includes another bedroom with comfortable twin beds with fresh 100% cotton bedding which can be joined together for couples as well as a chest of drawers and lamps. There is a chill-out area with bean-bags ideal for relaxing as well as more storage closets. The second bathroom has a bath tub and toilet with another large sink and basin and storage. Fresh towels will be provided.

If you require more beds than for 4 guests, the sofa in the lounge is a pull-out bed which fits two people.

Although there isn’t a terrace there is a bench outside the front and there are plenty of squares and gardens near the house for you to sit out and relax.

There is also paid parking near the house if you rent a car which costs approximately 5 euros per day.

"Casa da Primavera" is situated in the heart of Funchal and an easy walk to the marina and other key attractions in the city as well as transport links to different areas of the city as well as busses to other parts of the island too. It's also a stone's throw away from the famous cable car in the old town.

The district is renown for its beautiful architecture, artwork, typical restaurants and local bars. You will be sure to eat some local delicacies and try the typical Poncha.

The cathedral is a 4 minute walk.
The main market & Municipal Garden are a 5 minute walk.
The Cristiano Ronaldo museum is a beautiful 10 minute walk along the main promenade in Funchal bay.

Also within reach of a popular shopping mall which includes coffee shops selling Madeiran delicacies, supermarkets, a pharmacy, high street shopping outlets, laundry service and small boutique stores.

There is a tourist bus service that transports tourists from the airport to the tourist zone where the apartment is located. The Aerobus tariff is five euros for one way but if you buy the return ticket from the apartment to the airport on your arrival day you only pay eight euros for both. Car rentals are also available or various tours can be taken to view the island.

We do have security measures in place, medical aid kit, fire blanket, fire extinguisher, emergency numbers etc.

Paid parking is available near the house for around 5 euros per day.
