Artist's House In The Medieval Village
The centuries-old, spacious stone house is located in a romantic, medieval mountain village between Lucca and the sea. It was lovingly transformed into a true piece of jewelry by an Italian art professor over many years of work.
The old stone walls give the artists' house a special flair. From the second floor you can look out over rolling hills towards Lucca and Pisa.
The house also has an enchanted olive grove, reachable on foot in just a few minutes.
The spacious artist's house offers different worlds of experience, depending on where you are.
On the ground floor there is the so-called "knight's hall" with its antique, carefully renovated wooden ceiling, the original stone walls, the open fireplace, the comfortable couch and long table. There you feel like you have been transported to another time.
Also on the ground floor is the cozy kitchen, equipped with everything you need.
From there you enter a small, sheltered courtyard overgrown with a caper bush, oleander, roses, holly... There is a small fireplace for grilling.
The cozy reading room is on the first floor. From there you can reach the balcony, over which a magnificent vine roof arches and provides shade.
On the way to the top floor you pass the second bathroom, which is equipped with a bathtub.
At the top are the two bedrooms, from which you have a wonderful view over the Tuscan hills and, when the weather is clear, even as far as the sea. At night you can see the distant lights of the cities of Pisa and Lucca twinkling.
Culture and many sights can be found in the nearby cities of Lucca, Pisa, Florence and La Spezia on the Ligurian coast. All reachable in about 1 hour.
If you love the sea: wide sandy beaches near Viareggio
and beautiful rocky coast north towards La Spezia.
For hikers: there are breathtakingly beautiful hiking trails in the Apuan Alps.
Cyclists: there seem to be more cyclists in the area than cars, no wonder given the fantastic routes, uphill and downhill.
Cars cannot drive through the town's narrow streets. The parking lot is in front of the place. It's about 100 meters to walk to the house.
