We've rented a half dozen houses on the chain and the Wolfe's house on Darling is one of our favorites yet! Don't be put off by the modest exterior. The inside of the house is absolutely adorable and the lakefront, beach, patio, fire pit and dock are perfect.
The kitchen, though small, is charming, well laid out and had everything we could want. The living area and sunroom are cozy and comfy with lots of nice touches like blankets and pillows and a day bed for naps!
The bedrooms are small, but easily sleep eight comfortably. Be forewarned, however, that all of the bedrooms are upstairs and the steps are somewhat steep and narrow. It was fine for 6 mobile adults, but would not be suitable for seniors or very young children with mobility issues. There is a double bed in the sunroom, however, if you have Grandma along!
It is clear that the owners put a lot of love into this house. Kari left a nice welcome basket for us with a bottle of wine and fixings for s'mores by the fire pit. Definitely a lovely touch among many like the jars of cotton swabs and floss picks in the bathroom! We would definitely stay here again and recommend this place to anyone who wants a charming house with a gorgeous lakefront so long as they are not mobility impaired. 5 of 5 stars!
