Escape to the mountains and step back in time at the Retro Retreat! Our renovated 1975 mobile home features a balanced mix of modern comforts with a touch of days gone by. Nearly 1,600 square feet on one level with four bedrooms, two bathrooms, and pet friendly. The home is approximately one mile off the highway, just south of Wapiti on a private, well-maintained gravel road. The road and driveway is suitable for any vehicle and perfect for a leisurely stroll in the cool of the day. The elevated location ensures unobstructed views of Wapiti Valley where you can enjoy a cup of coffee or glass of wine while watching the Shoshone River wind it's way down to Buffalo Bill Reservoir, backed by Rattlesnake and Cedar Mountain. Or wake up to the stunning geography of Jim Mountain and Logan Mountain to the North.

The open living space is perfect for gathering and features plenty of natural light and views. The kitchen is fully renovated with soft-close drawers, a refrigerator with water and ice, dishwasher, microwave, oven, standard coffee pot, Keurig, crock pot, and everything else you'll need to enjoy a home-cooked meal. The dining table has seating for eight, or enjoy the simplicity of our breakfast bar with seating for four. The house is serviced by forced-air heat and central air conditioning. The master bedroom has a separate air conditioner, temperature control, and ceiling fan. We provide all the bedding, towels, pillows, and other necessities.

Most rooms have a smart TV. The living room includes a DVD player and movie library. Our wireless internet is capable of streaming TV or movies on multiple devices at once. We have a classic arcade system with over 600 classics like Ms. Pacman, Centipede, Galaga, and 1942. Some board games and playing cards are also available. The property includes a strong cell phone signal throughout, enabling you to maintain contact with the world back home or share your memories of #retrotreat on social media!

Retro Retreat is located 35 miles from Yellowstone National Park and 21 miles to downtown Cody. We are surrounded by abundant wildlife, hiking, fishing, and other outdoor activities. Head into Cody for dining, entertainment, shopping, the only nightly rodeo, our world-class Buffalo Bill Historical Center, indoor shooting range, and more!

Best view I have ever seen

The location of this property is like none other. You wake up to sunrises over the Buffalo Bill Reservoir that light up the sky and every window of the house has expansive mountain views. This is our second visit to retro house. We woke up to deer feeding all over the property within a few feet of the house. The master bedroom is huge. We sat each morning drinking our coffee in the two chairs and looked at the expansive mountain views. The house is well equipped and comfortable. The 60's decor, turn table with bands from the era brought us back in time. The kitchen/living room is open. The Wapiti Lodge is at the bottom of the hill, about a half mile from retro house, which I highly recommend. Cody Lodging did a great job communicating with us. We didn't have any problems while we were there, but felt that if we did, we would not have a problem. The proximity to both downtown Cody and Yellowstone can't be beat. I have read other reviews. We didn't have any problem with water pressure or having enough water for showers, etc. We will definitely be back for our third visit in the near future.

Great Cody trip!

The Retro Retreat was awesome! Perfect location between Cody and Yellowstone gave us opportunity to go back and forth between them. The home was situated perfectly on the hill with good views in every direction! House was roomy and clean! Would stay there again if I am lucky enough to get back to Wyoming!

Mice/Stench/No water

We were very disappointed with this property. This experience has ruined VRBO as an option for future vacations. The smell is overwhelming. It smells like decades of accrual of urine, mold, and must. Your senses cannot acclimate to it with time. It did not appear dirty but the mice droppings in the fresh vacuum lines indicate a significant mouse problem. It advertises 2 bathrooms but the master shower had ZERO water pressure and only produced a trickle of water. The entire plumbing system had very little water pressure. The sinks only produced a trickle of water. Our entire family had to use the tiny shower off the bunk room. The master bedroom has a mobile air conditioner unit. It is very loud. If you are not used to sleeping in a wind tunnel, you sleep with only the overhead fan. Sheets were clean and towels were new. Pillows overly plush so bring your own pillow if you can't handle extra plush pillows. There's a Walmart about 20 minutes away in Cody that has pillows. Washing machine had a trickle of water for water pressure when I ran the dirty towels per rental agreement. So, don't plan for this to be the place to wash your dirty clothes. We checked out a day early and went to a hotel because we needed to be able to shower and sleep.

The house had an awesome view!

We had a good time staying at this location. The only complaint I have is that the water pressure is terrible. It was about 25 min to the east entrance which was nice and the entrance was never busy to get through.
