Basque in the sunshine at the pool (seasonal) or hike one of the many trails at a State Forest just two tenths of a mile away. Close to thriving West Hartford Center with loads of restaurants and shopping. Hiking trails, local breweries and wineries close by. All the ingredients for a magical weekend getaway.

Amazing apartment

What a spacious, amazing apartment on a beautiful farm. We were in town for our daughter's graduation from Univ. of Hartford, it's less than 15 minutes from campus, so a perfect spot and enough room for her to come over and us not all be cramped in a hotel room. Have already booked for next year's master's graduation ceremony. So much to do nearby, booked for an extra night so we have more time to hike and explore.

Weekend stay for wedding

Serene and peaceful, this weekend getaway was so good for the soul. The horses and donkeys in the lower level of the barn each had their own unique personalities that enhanced the festivities. Walking around the property accompanied by three happy dogs while hearing the goats bleating and the chickens crowing in the background only added to the quiet winter magic. A huge thank you to our wonderful hosts.

Perfect for a family

With the spaciousness of the apartment, combined with the farm animals and pool this place is perfect for a family. If the kids are interested in farm animals this is a fun spot for them.

Beautiful and specious

I came to this property because it looked cozy, and quiet. My partner and I had a very rough year mentally and physically with both of our healths. We came here and totally relaxed. I went in the pool, read my book, took naps and had a great time. The hosts were nice. The animals were friendly. It was perfect!

Special property!

How fun to stay above a hose barn in such a spectaular spot. The apartment was much more spacious than we expected and really fun! As we sat poolside for a little bit we watched Frank driving his tractor, heard animals chatting and played with the dogs. It was the perfect spot to call home during our high school reunion. Loved it and hope to return again some day!

Just amazing!

Beautiful, spacious house on top of the horse staples.literally the horses & donkey were sleeping downstairs of our place. What a beautiful experience! Frank & Julliane gave us nice tour of the farm. Also nice hiking trail close by.

Luxury BNB with beautiful surroundings and farm fun!

Staying at Juliana's place was perfect blend of luxury and nature. Upstairs above the barn is a beautiful apartment, immaculately clean and designed with taste and style. From the plush towels to the wine in the fridge, we enjoyed every minute -- and bonus, bed was super comfortable. Downstairs we were greeted with friendly horses, shepard dogs, barn cats, and even 2 donkeys! Walking the grounds was a breath of fresh air and the owners could not have been nicer! We will definitely be staying again!

Therapeutic

The entire experience was over my expectations! From an early check-in, to the most adorable animals (kudos to the friendliest dogs and cat ever) and the donkey who wanted to come in my car how with me lol. The pool with a pergola and peaches to pick off the tree were an added bonus. I felt like I was at an Italian villa. I will definitely come back ever year. Even the music selection while I swam was on point!!!

Beautiful property! Great hosts. Huge apartment above barn. Bright with lots of natural light. Plenty of room for 4 adults to sprawl out. 2 bedrooms, living room, eating area, French doors to outside balcony big enough for chairs overlooking beautiful view. Lots of closets. Even a small office space. Note that the eating area has a small refrigerator and microwave, not a kitchen. There are plenty of dishes, but no convenient way to wash them. We rinsed dishes in bathroom sink and the hosts washed them later. This was fine for breakfast and takeouts. Spotlessly clean, even the barn. Perfectly tended grounds. The hosts let us store our 4 bikes in a vacant stall. The hosts are friendly and available but not intrusive. Children would LOVE this place. Most of the animal interaction is optional and/or from a distance, but expect to be greeted by friendly dogs.

We had a great stay. The apartment above the stable was spacious and beautiful. The scenery was beautiful. The hosts were friendly and provided everything you could want for a stay. Look forward to staying with them again.

Terrific experience

This spacious upstairs barn accommodation was fun and comfortable. We enjoyed being around the animals and found plenty to do around the area. Hiking trails are very close and great restaurant options.

What a lovely stay!

Julianne's property is just fantastic! The unit is really "spacious". My buddy and I had a fun time hanging out at the apartment as well as walking around the open spaces. And the interactions with the animals were very fun too <3

The property was breathtaking, the place was spacious, comfortable, and beautiful. Felt like a dream walking into the barn and then walking up the steps into the suite! Highly recommended! The owners were so kind and welcoming! 5 stars across the board.

Loved our stay! What a unique and special property!

The apartment was sooo spacious, comfy, clean and beautifully decorated. Loved the outdoor balcony overlooking the gorgeous farm grounds. The owners were so welcoming and helpful with area activities and restaurants and stuff. We loved petting all the horses, the donkeys, goats and their two playful lovable doggies. We took advantage of a warm sunny day and spent an entire morning and afternoon poolside (the owner had so nicely blown up rafts for us to float on too). There were so many little nooks and sitting areas that we didn’t even get to enjoy because our stay was so short. Definitely want to go back and be able to take advantage of those, the hiking trails and more time with the animals! Can’t stress enough how impeccably clean the stables were and how meticulous all the landscaping was. CT is beautiful but this spot on 14 acres was a piece of magic hidden away from any hustle and bustle. We are already picking out our next dates to book and looking to extend!

Wonderful Stay!

My mom flew up from Fl and I drove down from Western Mass for a relaxing weekend. The space is very clean, the living room is super cozy and beds were comfy. The view of downtown Hartford is crazy, hard to believe it's so close because it feels so far. Frank and Julianne were amazing hosts, seemed happy to introduce us to the animals and provide recommendations. Simsbury and Bloomfield are very close and have great restaurants. It helps to be an animal lover to stay here because meeting the cats, dogs, horses and donkey were a major bonus for us. The BDL airport is super close. I'm section hiking the New England Scenic Trail and was able to get to the trial on foot just a short walk up the road. This would be a great place to rest and recharge if you're thru-hiking.

Hi there! We are Julianne and Frank. We traded the hustle and grind of the business world to become farmers in 2020, and we haven't looked back since! When we are not being farmers, we love to travel the world and meet new friends. Since the farm ties us to home more regularly now, we enjoy meeting new friends when they book our property. :-)

We purchased this farm in April of 2020 and underwent a major lifestyle change! It was our dream to own a farm and have horses we could spend our days with. We were beyond thrilled to find such a beautiful oasis atop a mountain, yet so close to all of the restaurants, shops and services we use all the time.

Hva gjør dette overnattingsstedet unikt?

We are so happy to have horses (both ours, and those who board with us but belong to others in our barn family), donkeys, goats, chickens, cats and our three Australian Shepherd pups. It's a lot of work, but it's worth it!

When it's time to relax, it's great to kick back with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and take in the gorgeous views. You can even see the downtown Hartford skyline from our place. And in the summer, it's awesome to jump into the heated pool when the weather is hot!
