#scandysaltboxduplexright is a 2 bedroom, 2 bath unit in a historic Granby Mill Village "Saltbox" House in Columbia, SC. These homes were built in the early 20th century as workforce housing for the nearby Granby Textile Mills. The extensive renovations completed in 2021 retains the original heart pine floors, high ceilings and large windows. Centrally located, the house is a few minutes walk from Founders Park (USC's Baseball Stadium), 1/2 mile from 701 Whaley and 1.5 miles to Williams Brice.
The house is done in a Scandinavian Industrial Rustic style with black metal, raw wood, and farmhouse details throughout. We love the comfy furnishings and the functionality of each new and antique piece of furniture sourced from local shops. The decor pays homage to the historic textile mill industry of the neighborhood with antique bobbins, weaving shuttles, and other reclaimed found objects on the walls and tabletops. The second queen size bedroom on the second floor is nestled in the 'saltbox' sloped roof of the house with angled ceilings and bead board wall and ceiling paneling, giving this room tons of character and style. A full size futon is located upstairs in the hallway for additional guests to sleep on. There are board games provided for your entertainment while staying at this house.
All of the areas listed - the entire space.
