The PERFECT Country Retreat for anyone who wants to get away from it all. (It’s Firefly Season) House Mountain Retreat is in the country yet close to Knoxville, Sevierville, Pigeon Forge & Gatlinburg. Enjoy your unobstructed view of House Mountain while you watch horses, cows and goats graze in the pasture. Your space has a screened in porch to admire the ranch or explore on your own for no extra fee. We are also able to accommodate our friends with horses. Please message us for availability.

The space
You will love the beautifully designed space that includes a comfortable bed, two TVs, WiFi, Kitchenette with mini fridge, microwave & coffee maker. We provide towels, hair dryer, shampoo, some spices and coffee. The vibe is Ranch and is perfect for a couples get away, staycation or self care trip. We have extra blankets and dishes for your use.
Guest access
We have plenty of parking around the ranch. You can park up front by the main house and apartment or down by the barn when you visit our horses.

If you are interested in taking a tour of our Ranch, please send us a message and we can arrange something for you. Is this a romantic get away? Special occasion like a birthday or anniversary? Wow! What a beauty!

Not going to lie, the surrounding area wasn’t legendary (Greater Knoxville, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg) BUT if you know what you’re in for and still go - visit Michelle here. What an amazing property - an active horse farm with incredible views. The lodgings were Fresh! Clean, modern, cool. 2 rooms 2 TVs beautiful screened in porch w a nice view .. outstanding!

Peaceful Acres

This was just what my husband and I were looking for. This place was very peaceful, especially clean, and easy to check into. We enjoyed watching the farm animals and looking at House Mountain as we sat on the screened in porch late afternoon. We highly recommend if you are looking for some peace and quiet.

Wonderful!

Wow! What a hidden gem. I came to see the horses but the baby goats stole the show! The view of the farm animals is spectacular. Space was tastefully decorated and the owner is so nice. We definitely be back.

At first, I was surprised that the rooms were attached to the house, just because the listing said I would have the place to myself, so I could hear the "neighbors" that lived in the main house. But it was fine because they quieted down about 9pm. The place was beautiful, very well kept and the area was VERY peaceful. I loved it!

Peaceful in the country

As a city dweller, this was a great retreat for me to unwind a little. Enjoy a morning cup of coffee on the screened-in deck while watching all manor of birds like cardinals and humming birds wiz around. You can explore a working horse ranch, or potentially arrange a relaxing ride. I was there in August, and in the evening, you listen to the steady sound of cicadas in the trees. The apartment is very tastefully decorated with the horse ranch theme, and lots of cool touches with repurposed items throughout. It has a little kitchenette with a minifridge to keep those beverages nice and cold. And your host Michelle is one of the kindest people you will ever meet. Oh, and you're only about 10 minutes down a well paved road to shopping and the edge of Knoxville! I would highly recommend the House Mountain Ranch for anybody looking to get away, but not too far away.

Peaceful and beautiful

This was a perfect little retreat for us. It was very comfortable and the location was great for us. We loved watching the animals every morning and evening. The bed is super comfortable. Everything we needed was available. Definitely recommend a stay here.

We had a restful rejuvenating spirit filled time in a beautiful setting with some very special people. The place was immaculate. Host Michelle is very thoughtful warm hearted special lady. This was the only vacation in my life that I actually was not quite ready to come home.

Wonderful experience!

We only had an opportunity to stay one night, but it was an experience that we won't forget! Michelle treated us like part of her family! The ranch was awesome! The apartment was exceptionally clean and beautiful! The animals were well taken care of and very friendly. We are planning on returning in the fall when the leaves are changing. Can hardly wait!!

Perfect for Our need

We had a few hiccups when trying to check in but the owner was very responsive and got it squared away for us! The land is absolutely beautiful and reminded me of home in kentucky. We came for the Vols football game and it was perfect distance for us! Close enough but far enough from the big city. The place was very clean and well taken care of. Highly recommend.

Beautiful Stay in Late October

My fiancé and I stayed for one night during the third weekend of October while attending a wedding in neighboring Luttrell, TN. The property has a prime view of House Mountain and surrounding hills making it a great place to see the leaves changing. I especially enjoyed being able to look outside and watch the horses (and other wildlife)! The property was very clean and exactly as pictured. Additionally Michelle was so kind, and overall we had a very relaxing stay. My only regret was that we didn't stay longer!

Wonderful country style suite with the most amazing views!!

The suite is located on the left side of the main house of the property. It has its own private entrance as well as private screened porch. I watched the sunrise one morning from the porch and it felt like I was in one of the most beautiful places on Earth! You can hear the farm animals and all of the stunning nature surround you. The suite itself was impeccably clean and very cutely decorated. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend to others as well!!

Mini Honeymoon

Absolutely Beautiful

This property is stunning. We were so pleased with the cleanliness and the hospitality of Michelle. We appreciate the tour of the farm / ranch and the time Michelle took out of her day to make sure we were comfortable. On a clear night the stars are bright and the only sounds you hear are birds and horses; no street noise, etc. A thoroughly relaxing stay. Thank you Michelle for everything.

Michelle has been involved with horses for 30+ years, and has been raising appaloosas since 1995. She holds a degree in Equine Studies. In 2004, Michelle began showing and promoting her Appaloosas at a world-class level. In 2010, her stallion, “The Miracle Chip” was inducted into the Appaloosa Hall of Fame, and his son, “TC Tommy Boy” carries on his legacy. Michelle has won numerous awards across the globe in multiple disciplines and through her expertise in breeding quality appaloosas, she has demonstrated her commitment to excellence.
Paul was a pilot in the US Navy for 25 years and is currently a pilot with Southwest Airlines. He and Michelle were married in 2018, and they now partner to manage several aspects of the TC Performance Horses brand.

Our place is just beyond the boundaries of the city of Knoxville, hovering over the small town of Corryton, Tennessee, is House Mountain State Park: Knox County’s highest peak and likely its most beautiful outdoor spot. Supposedly so named for the roof-like slant of its twin summits, House is home to a wide array of blossoming flowers, climbing vines, and waving trees, and wildlife.
