Gorgeous furnished home in a gated community--quiet & safe, 10 mins to ocean
Fully furnished private home available ONLY from April 1 to May 31, 2024. Our home is in a secluded, gated community which means it's quiet and safe with a large nature preserve in back, no neighbor in front, and ample space on both sides of the house. The extra-large Master Bedroom and bath are located DOWNSTAIRS, with a jacuzzi tub, double shower, walk-in closet, an office area and a high-end massage chair.
Our upgraded kitchen has beautiful granite countertops, reverse osmosis for constant supply of pure drinking water and every kind of appliance. The family room, next to the kitchen, has a 60" TV and surround sound speaker system and a new sofa set with power recliners.
Our backyard garden features a 3-level fountain and flowers and shrubs that attract birds and butterflies galore.
The upstairs "patio room" has an broad view of the hills and native plants behind our property. Two of the bedrooms share a full bath, while the corner bedroom has its own private bathroom.
Our location is VERY quiet, yet is close to a dozen restaurants, stores and supermarkets (Sprouts, Trader Joes, Stater Brothers, Target, Costco etc) and 8 mins from Legoland. When the sliding door is open, you only hear the fountain and chirping birds. Hummingbirds and butterflies hang out in our yard all day.
Excellent swimming / surfing beaches are less than 10 minutes away (5 miles). Downtown Carlsbad has a paved, 2 mile walking path along the beach. South Ponto Beach is our favorite beach for walking on the sand, swimming, boogey-boarding and picnicking at sunset.
Eight miles of walking & biking trails can be reached directly from our home. One block away is our newly renovated community pool and jacuzzi. Next to the pool is the historic Leo Carrillo Historical Park (with dozens of peacocks). Three miles away is the Alga Norte Olympic pool and sports center. Carlsbad's streets are very bike-friendly.

I am a professional travel writer and photographer, so we travel quite a bit. Currently my wife's daughter, who works as a diplomat for the US State Department, has been stationed in Madrid for the next 3 years, so we will be visiting Spain regularly. We hike or play pickleball 6 days a week.

I have lived in San Diego since 1973 in quite a few different communities, and to be honest we hit the lottery with our home in Carlsbad. It's the best luck we could have hoped for to live in such a special place with no crime, no noise, great neighbors (happy hours every Friday), total privacy, 5 minutes from lots of major stores and restaurants and convenient access from our doorstep to wonderful hiking for our regular exercise. What more could we ask for?

I'll just repeat: this community is known for having no crime, almost no noise, great neighbors (happy hours every Friday), total privacy, 5 minute drive to lots of major stores and restaurants and convenient access from our doorstep to wonderful hiking for our regular exercise. For a longer stay, I think this is pretty hard to beat.
