BRAND NEW TO THE PROGRAM. Mature pines create the wooded setting for this comfortable family home. The classic Black Butte architecture reveals itself from between the trees as you approach this 3 bedroom, 2 bath home. It sleeps 8, is dog-friendly, and has air conditioning. It is situated within walking distance to the South Meadow pool & tennis center. Aspen Lake is also within striking distance via the paved bike paths.

The great room, with its rustic rock fireplace, is all about the views. The wall of windows makes it feel like you are sitting in the trees. The adjoining dining area has a large farm table that seats 6 and enjoys the same spectacular views. The fully equipped kitchen is modern and functional; all stainless steel appliances and a fantastic oversized farm sink. 2 bedrooms (1-queen, 2-twins (sofa trundle), and a bathroom are also on the main floor. A small office area is available in one of the bedrooms for those ‘remote work’ situations you can't ignore.

Upstairs includes 1 bedroom (1-king), a bathroom, and a spacious loft (1- queen sofa sleeper). The loft area is designed for kicking off your shoes and reading a good book. You’ll feel as if you are in a treehouse with the exceptional views.

Enjoy the outdoors on the spacious deck equipped with wooden rockers, a lounge chair, a dining table, and a propane grill. You can see from the pics that the deer will feel invited to your get together.

Yes...and...

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house is in a central location near the big meadow, which is easy to walk to. The quality of the house is good, especially considering it allows dogs. Kitchen, dining, lounge, den, bathrooms and bedrooms all great. Kitchen well stocked. The locks on the patio doors could use some maintenance and the deck needs some attention (nails sticking out, easy to get spliters). Our dog found a trail of mouse poo inside the house. A previous reviewer mentioned the height of the is true, they are crazy high, but they are also very comfortable :-) Overall we really enjoyed our stay. However, I would add that the Black Butte booking / welcome experience wasn't as good as in the past (very brisk and commercialised) which ruined the experience a bit. I also felt that the cost (with all the random extra costs) to rent this home was a bit too high.

Extremely Disappointed

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My family and I stayed seven nights at SM #30. We were extremely disappointed in the house. It was very dirty - the carpet was stained and in need of a good vacuuming, the pendants over the kitchen counter had accumulated dust on them, there were cobwebs hanging from the ceiling and the bathrooms were terrible. The outside deck needs to be replaced - we could not walk on it without shoes or we got slivers in our feet and the wood seating around the deck had nails sticking up so we had to be careful where we sat. The railings on the inside stairwell are certainly not up to code and again, we had to be careful with two young children coming down the stairs.The location is great and the management company responded quickly when we thought the water heater was broken. It was not - the water heater is very small and by the second shower, there is little hot water. We had to wait at least an hour between people showering.I'm very surprised that Black Butte Realty has this "new listing" in their inventory. I will be very careful before renting through them again.

Needs Help

This house is not very comfortable or clean. The master bed is like sleeping on flagstone. The queen bed is not much better and really high off the floor. The downstairs shower is slick and the shower curtain liner is filthy. The kitchen has nice appliances, but not much more. The laundry is in the furnace room which is stacked with junk and filthy. The living room carpet is stained and dirty. The TV in the main room is tiny. The outdoor decks are huge, but the furniture is falling apart. All in all, this property needs updated bathrooms and deep cleaning. The boards under the queen bed need to be removed and the mattresses replaced. I wrote an email to the property management upon our arrival and never heard back. They did acknowledge my email when I told them we were leaving early so maybe they could, at least, get the carpet stains out and a deep cleaning. Only if you are desperate would you choose this property for your vacation.

peaceful & roomy

Enjoyed access to the outdoors..big deck with comfortable seating..but liked the AC once in a while. Cooking, laundry-practical tasks were easy. Would have liked a few toys for the preschool age kids. Ditto for pool towels. They would have been a thoughtful gesture on the owners' part.n

Cozy Cabin

Beautiful and perfect for our little family (dog friendly!). Kitchen reno is beautiful. It snowed almost every day we were there and the plow came up the long driveway. Very helpful.
