The Desperado Lodge offers a convenient location and large space for Lake of the Ozarks guests and those wanting to be within close proximity of the Ozarks International Raceway or Lake Ozark Off-Road Park! "The LOOP". This newly-remodeled, five-bedroom, three-bath, and two half-bath lodge is fully-equipped with everything you might need for your stay. Located on approximately 170 acres of land in Morgan County, Missouri on Highway 135 just minutes from the town of Laurie, this property is secluded, yet close to all major amenities in the area.
The Desperado is a rural piece of property situated on approximately 170 acres of land just off Highway 135, northwest of Laurie, MO and is comprised of beautiful rolling hills and ridges. The acreage includes many varieties of hardwood trees, but is recognized for its stunning dogwood and redbud trees that bloom in the Spring. The Lodge is rustic, yet has abundant space and all of the modern conveniences of home.
The Desperado Lodge was completely remodeled in 2021 and consists of an open floorplan kitchen, living, and dining area that is ideal for large families and entertaining. The fully-stocked kitchen boasts brand-new, stainless-steel appliances, including a gas stove/oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, and microwave. It is also well-equipped with dishes, cookware, silverware, coffee pot, toaster, electric can opener, crockpot, and more. There is a large, walk-in pantry in the kitchen behind a sliding barn door that provides plenty of storage space and access outside. Through that exterior door is a cooking porch that includes a pellet grill, outdoor griddle, and large, propane fryer available for guests to utilize. The dining table has two leaf extensions and chairs to seat up to eight people. There is also seating for six at the beautiful, custom, sycamore wood island. There is seating for two at the bar area and two more at a table in the living area.
The open floor living area includes a new, 75-inch flat-screen television. The seating area consists of one couch, one loveseat, and three recliners. The living area also boasts a remote-control operated gas fireplace. Wi-Fi is available throughout The Lodge. There are also books and board games for guests to enjoy at their leisure. There is a half-bath located in the living area.
There are five bedrooms, three full bathrooms, and two half bathrooms. Bedrooms #1, #2, and #3 are located in the main hall of The Lodge and are each furnished with bunkbeds. All three bunkbeds are queen-sized on the bottom bunks and twin XL on the top bunks. At the end of the main hall is a full bathroom with a shower/tub. Bedroom #4 is located on the main floor of The Lodge and has a king-sized bed and a full-sized bed. It is connected to a full bathroom with a shower. Bedroom #5 is located downstairs in the basement area and has a king-sized bed and a full-sized bed. It is connected to a full bathroom with a shower/tub.
Downstairs in the basement is an entryway with a large storage area. There is also a washer, dryer, freezer, mop sink, and ice machine in that portion of The Lodge. Additionally, the basement has a half-bath.
All bathroom and kitchen towels and bed linens are included. There is also a starter supply of hand soap, dish soap, body wash, and shampoo/conditioner included for guests. The Lodge has smoke detectors, a carbon monoxide detector, and fire extinguisher. Also included is a starter supply of cleaning supplies, laundry detergent, dryer sheets, trash bags, toilet paper, and dishwasher tabs.
Just outside the exterior door in the living area is a large porch. There are tables and chairs for seating and dining on the porch. There is also a hot tub located on the porch.
Outside there are several seating and dining areas and plenty of parking space for vehicles, trailers, RVs, and more. The view is serene year-round! The Lodge is located on a hill, so the sunrises and sunsets are spectacular. Wildlife such as birds, squirrels, deer, turkeys, and rabbits can always be spotted on the property. Guests may also explore the property via various walking trails.
