Austin Springs Family Retreat

This is not your typical rental! It’s created for family fun and up to 6-8 guests. This 1,800 sq. ft. home is located on Johnson City’s east side, just minutes from Jonesborough, ETSU, the Med-Tech corridor, Kingsport, & Bristol, baby! Comfort was our primary consideration with thoughtfully selected brand-new mattresses, some new furniture and fixtures, and a well-stocked kitchen. This house is equipped for FUN with a pool table, air hockey, ping-pong, and video arcade console.

The space
From our experience, we have gathered all the basics for a fun family stay. It’s the little stuff like convenient USB charging locations, having measuring cups, vegetable oil, or even a selection of spices that make a difference! It’s complete with a comfortable tree-covered sitting deck with a propane grill in a nice neighborhood. There is also a fire pit. Shampoo, conditioner, and many other comforts are provided. This is definitely NOT a house for parties.

Our home is very dear to us. We updated and added things we have missed in other short term rental homes we have stayed in. It is a great place for families or small groups. It has some recent paint, fresh carpet, and some really nice updates.

This home sleeps six comfortably, up to eight potentially. The first bedroom has a king bed (2 guests) with a TV. The second bedroom has a queen (2), and the third features 2 twin beds. There is a very comfortable inflatable twin mattress (1) in the closet with extra bedding. We have a Pack-N-Play unit, high chair, and lots of things for babies and toddlers.

The living room has a brand-new recliner, couch, TV, and fireplace. The family room has a couch with a 55” TV, pool table, air hockey, ping-pong, and much more family fun! Lots of board games and books are available for you to enjoy.

The kitchen has almost everything you could need to cook a meal with your family or friends. We’ve got the basics that you don’t want to buy when visiting a short-stay location.

We have free Wi-Fi and three smart TVs with many free channels, local television channels, and your subscription app-based services like Netflix, YouTube, Disney+, HBO Max, etc.

Entire house and up to four exterior parking places. Hosts are off site.

Other things to note
One well-behaved smaller dog or a cat will be considered. We reserve the right to refuse any dog based on the potential of digging or going over the fence. Our neighbors to the left have a few hens and a duck, and our neighbors to our right have a small day care with young children.

We really enjoyed our stay with Tiffany and Don. Great hosts! And the name, "Family Retreat" is quite appropriate. While our schedule didn't allow us to enjoy everything they provided (and it is a LOT) we know when we next return we would want to explore even more. The home is very comfortable, communication was fantastic, and lots of extras were provided. Truly a great place to stay!

Terrific Place

Tiffany and Don were awesome hosts. Their communication was great, and allowed us to check-in early. The home was very clean, warm, quiet and welcoming. If we needed something it was already provided in the well stocked kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms and game room. We’ll definitely stay again when visiting family and friends. Thank you Tiffany and Don for an enjoyable stay.

The rental I selected and used was TOP SHELF ! Everything that was listed was in perfect order. My Host was in contact with me before the visit and fill me in on security codes that I would need. I can't thank my host enough, as everything was PERFECT.

We absolutely love this house, I was impressed with how Tiffany and Don thought of everything! I have never stayed in a better stocked or a cleaner home! That said we did want to share a bit of feedback that we hope is helpful. The air-conditioning unfortunately didn't cool the space well, and the temperature stayed quite warm even with the fans going, especially overnight which made it hard to get a full night's sleep. If the issue with the air-conditioning is addressed I would definitely love to return to this clean-charming home.

We really enjoyed our stay. The house is comfortable and cozy cute, very very clean and has everything you would need and the beds were really comfortable. There is the coolest game room! Especially a kids retreat of entertainment. Great communication with the hosts!The neighborhood is pleasantly quiet. In the mornings the backyard is alive with birds singing their songs! A place to definitely return to for another stay!

Gem in East Tennessee

This property is exactly as advertised. Very clean, very well stocked and beautifully decorated. It is located less than 10 minutes away from shopping and restaurants in a quiet residential neighborhood. The hosts were wonderful as well. We had a small issue that was addressed and corrected immediately. We would definitely stay again and highly recommend this property.

Amazing Game Room!

We loved staying here! The kids (and maybe us as well) thoroughly enjoyed the game room and all the toys available! Best Christmas place to stay in Johnson City

Huge attention to detail, all the coffee was stocked, the kitchen had everything you could need, the linen closet was stocked. There was plenty of room to put our stuff. The neighborhood was quiet. We stayed over Christmas and enjoyed the lit tree on a timer, the twinkle lit garland over the fireplace mantle. Our small dog loved the fenced in back yard. The game room was fun. We did a load of laundry Everything was clean clean clean these VRBO hosts are the best. Would stay again.

Great location. Lots of room.

We can in for ETSU family weekend with our 2 small dogs. Great location. Not too close to the campus and not too far away. Lots of room. Great beds and a game room. Back yard was perfect for our dogs. will stay again.

Family wedding

Very clean and comfortable home. The hosts were extremely easy to communicate with and very responsive to our needs. They pretty much thought of everything to make our stay enjoyable, including a great coffee station, with snacks and a welcoming bottle of wine. The next door chickens were fun to feed, but guests should be aware there is a vocal rooster that doesn’t believe in sleeping in. We couldn’t hear him from the master bedroom but those staying in the other two bedrooms reported he was hard to ignore.

Memorable Stay!

Extremely comfortable stay. All furnishings, decor, etc, immaculate. My boys could not stop talking about the game room, electronics, tvs; this is their second stay! Very interesting memorabilia throughout the home. Feeding the chickens (with provided treats) was a joy and great memory! Wanted for nothing! Please note, if you can’t sleep through a morning rooster crow, sleep in the front master bedroom. I had no issues here! Couldn’t hear him at all! I do sleep with a sound machine I travel with as well! Our boys did sleep in the back bedroom, but didn’t hear either. They could also sleep through anything really! That said we LOVED the next door chickens and rooster! Very nice pace watching them outside over coffee. Also, thermostat cannot go below 71 in the summer. Noting if you run HOT. We do typically, sleep at 68 at home, but honestly, we did ok, no issues! Just removed the heavier provided blankets! Fans throughout. No issues. All supplies for coffee provided! And extra things, snacks, as well! Just perfect. Very cute setup. Loved it, our second time in two months staying here. Would come again! Memorable, lovely, CLEAN, and lots for the kids. They had a great time.
