The Osprey House provided the perfect place to explore the Redwoods. The house has amazing views of the ocean where you can watch whales feeding or passing by, seals on the beach and a variety of birds if you decide not to go to the parks.We enjoyed how the house is laid out. It has a well-appointed kitchen where two people can work comfortably preparing meals. The house has three bedrooms where a family or friends would have ample room to spread out. As a couple we only needed one bedroom. From our bedroom, the waves crashing at night provided nature’s lullaby for some restful sleep after hiking in the parks. The large windows fit right into morning coffee when the morning mist prevented us from watching the world from the deck. Speaking of the deck, it was a great place to relax and enjoy beverages at the end of an exciting day. Our last day there, we were treated to a beautiful sunset. Night time star gazing was limited due to cloudy skies until our last night when the moon and stars came out to give us a wonderful show.Gabe is a great host. He was available to answer any questions. The home is filled with many brochures of things happening and available so you never have to wonder what fun is nearby.

The view, location, and privacy are truly the best parts of this property. Arriving at the home, my family was overwhelmed by the amazing view from the back deck. In fact, they went around the house first before even going in the front door. The house is older, with the bathroom tubs/fans, bedroom heaters, and most windows being original, but the rest of the home has been more modernized. The layout worked well for our family of 6 and we enjoyed sitting in the living room or on the deck looking at the ocean, listening to the waves, and watching the stars. Gabe was prompt, detailed, and friendly and the house was clean and functional. We had a great stay!

A wonderfully comfortable place. Welcoming, secluded and breathtaking views. All wrapped up by an outstandingly easy host. We were 3 couples and it was perfect. A nice rock scramble down to the beach but doable and an easy trek to town.

Everything about Osprey House was beyond wonderful! Such a beautiful home with complete privacy and breathtaking views of the Pacific and Trinidad Bay. The home was impeccable, beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. Very comfortable, windows everywhere for that great view, awesome deck the length of the home and a great hot tub to enjoy those views from. Great location for excursions to the Redwood National and State Parks, Fern Canyon, Howland Road in Crescent City and south to Arcata and the Historic District of Eureka.I also cannot say enough about Gabriel. Such a wonderful, above and beyond host, and we are forever grateful to him!My husband and I were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary and Osprey House will always be a special magical place for us to remember such a special occasion. This is the place to stay!

The location was a destination type of location. The view was incredible. You didnt want to leave. The hot tub was hot and clean and a real treat. The kitchen was fully equipped. We ate most dinners there. The sound of the waves and bell buoy at night were heavenly.

We stayed in early August and the weather was perfect so we were able to enjoy being outside on the deck, the hot tub and the beach access. That was great, but theinside accommodations were all we had hoped for too. The kitchen was very wellstocked as well as the bathrooms and laundry - next time we won't overpack as basics were all supplied. And there will be a next time! Would not hesitate to come back!

Truly a lovely home nestled in a beautiful spot. Think relaxation, ease and nature at its best. This home has everything you need and more for a very comfortable stay. It is spotless and the location is perfect.We were two couples and had lots of privacy and shared space. The hot tub was the perfect way to end our day of hiking in the redwoods. We appreciated the care that was taken with the path down to the beach. It was rugged, but we made it! We hope to return to this very special home.

We stayed at the property for a week in July and loved every minute. It was a wonderful place to come back to after hiking in Redwood National Park, but we also enjoyed just relaxing and taking in the beautiful ocean view. The charming town of Trinidad is just minutes away and has everything you need for your stay. The kitchen was so well stocked that we joked it was better equipped than our own at home! The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the cozy blankets throughout the house were such a thoughtful touch.We loved watching the seals in the evenings and ended (almost) every day with a sunset soak in the hot tub. One of our favorite things was then falling asleep to the sounds of the waves.This home made our trip to Northern California one to remember, and we are already trying to figure out when we can get back!

Amazing views! The house was spotless, secluded yet easy to find less than 5 minutes from highway 101, and perfect size for 1 family. The view from the backyard is amazing, we were able to spot osprey, pelicans, and sea lions. The house has a private beach, but getting down can be a bit of an adventure for little kids and older adults because it is quite steep.Overall, it is a great place to take advantage of Trinidad, Arcata, Eureka and still be close to Redwoods. Would love to be back!

My wife and I stayed here for the first half of our 10-year anniversary trip, and it blew our expectations out of the water. The house is comfortable, spacious, and thoughtfully stocked with everything you need, but the property itself is what makes this place unforgettable. The privacy, breathtaking views from the back patio, and trails down to the beaches create an experience that's hard to match. Sitting on the patio, it truly feels like you have the entire Pacific coastline to yourself.We honestly could have spent our entire trip in Trinidad. The house is just minutes from town and within and hour of some incredible hikes in Redwood National and State Parks. The property provides access to two beaches; one that is completely private (rocky beach) and another that's publicly accessible but still wonderfully secluded (more sand). The path to and from the beaches require a moderate amount of effort, but nothing beyond what most physically fit people can comfortably handle. After a day of hiking, the hot tub overlooking the ocean and the groups of harbor seals is the perfect way to unwind.As cliché as it sounds, the photos don't capture how special this property really is. We can't wait to come back and enjoy Trinidad, Redwood National and State Parks, and this incredible home again.

This home was fabulous! Upon arrival we felt like we were the only ones in Trinidad! Very private and comfortable.if you're looking for a place that is private, clean, comfortable, has a spectacular view, restful, look no further! The kitchen is the best equipped I've seen in our VRBO experiences. Everything you need and more. The hot tub was great overlooking the bay. The hike down to the private beach is a little challenging but definitely doable even for a 70 year old! We did a lot of day trips during our stay such as Fern Canyon and Gold Bluffs Beach which I would highly recommend. We made our reservations in advance. If you're adventurous you might like going to Humboldt Redwood State Park by way of a backroad, Mattole Rd out of Ferndale. Be prepared for the most amazing sights along this drive but also rough roads. The Osprey House is the best! We highly recommend this place for mutigenerational families or just couples such as us.

Our family loved staying at the Osprey House. The views from the deck were absolutely breathtaking. We were lucky enough to see seals and so many different birds. The house was very clean and homey. Stocked with everything you might need. We will definitely come back.

Beds were comfortable and house was great! Beaches were beautiful and low tide is full of sea creatures and neat finds. Getting to the beaches is a little steep and strenuous, but definitely worth it for the view from the deck.

This property is perfect! It is along the beach with a short adventure walk to reach it. The view is stunning whether you are in the living room looking out the windows or if you are in the hot tub or lounge chairs! The bed and pillows were so comfortable. If we find ourselves in the area again, we will definitely stay here!
