Unlike many tourists who want to just hide at a resort, we wanted to truly experience Fiji and its culture. This beautiful home is the perfect retreat for a couple and in a great location. Although the home is about a 90 minute drive from Nadi, for those unaccustomed to driving on the left, don't be afraid. It is a VERY easy drive and pretty much impossible to get lost since you just stay on the two land Queens Road the entire way. Across the street is a pier and small beach that you can snorkel from. Adjacent to the neighborhood entrance is a small plaza with basic grocery, gas station, pizza place and sandwich shop...the pizza is very good BTW. A short drive away is the Sand Dunes National Park (well worth a visit), the town of Sigatoka is close enough for some shopping, and there is an excellent Indian restaurant and spa (great massages!) at the Queens Road roundabout in Korotogo. But, with all these wonderful things to see & do, don't forget to allow plenty of time for R&R at this amazing home. The views are outstanding, the furniture is comfortable and the privacy is wonderful. We enjoyed lounging on the deck and appreciated having wifi and Netflix for lazy evenings. Having A/C in the bedroom made it comfortable on those balmy nights and we made lots of use of the well appointed kitchen. The home's local hostess/caretaker, Ofa, is wonderful and even made us delicious Papaya smoothies! Many thanks to the homeowners for their prompt reply to any questions we had and suggestions of things to do.
