Pagosa Lumber Company founder A.T. Sullenberger purchased the two-story brick building at this location in 1918 which was previously occupied by Archuleta Merchantile and built by J.M. Archuleta Jr. in the early 1900s. After a fire destroyed the structure in 1919, Sullenberger constructed the Metropolitan Hotel which featured modern rooms, hot baths for guests, and a motion picture theatre.
Now, almost one hundred years later, the Loft Down Under welcomes guests to its history.Both apartment rentals are just a short walk across the street to the World Famous Hot Springs Pool and Hot Tubs. Everyone will love the short drive to Wolf Creek for a day on the slopes or just stroll around the shops and restaurants close by!
