The Pines is a beautiful Victorian mansion that has been meticulously restored and maintained by the owner. It is a masterpiece from top to bottom, including the grounds. We especially enjoyed morning coffee in the classic verandas and dinner in the 19th century dining room. Appliances, AC and bathroom fixtures have all been modernized, though the 19th century stove remains on display for authenticity. Lisa, the property manager, is responsive, prompt and engaging. The photos and descriptions are accurate and complete; if anything, we felt the pictures didn't do full justice to the experience. Hats off!

The Mansion, as my family referred to it, was a wonderful trip back in time. The restoration by the owner is simply spectacular, and I applaud his "money is no object" approach to recreating the house as it was in the 1880's. It handled my mature - all in their 30's to 80's very comfortably, though it did take us a while to realize that there was indeed a bathroom on the first floor (a half bath in the corner of the study). But the flip side of this magnificent restoration -- a relatively reasonable one considering the value of the restoration, especially the furniture - was that no beverages were allowed outside of the kitchen and dining room. While more than understandable, this should have been disclosed in the property description as doing so might have led us to select another property because socializing with family inside the house -- it was very hot and occasionally stormy outside during our stay - might normally have involved wine, etc. That's really our only complaint; i.e., I don't recall that the restriction was disclosed until shortly before we arrived. Oh, and one more thing. Our stay required a large damage deposit that had to be paid more than a month early will not be refunded until two credit card billing cycles had passed. This effectively and unexpectedly added around unexpected 250 to the cost.

Easily the most spectacular stay we could have imagined. We were here for a birthday celebration, with a murder mystery weekend game. The vibe was perfect and it comfortably slept all 20 of us, every ones jaw dropped when they saw the property. The kitchen was a standout, we realized we over packed given the quality of their utensils, serving plates and other dishware. The grounds were so beautiful, it made us feel like we were in an enchanted ground of a bygone era. Superb property, will love to come back again!

We stayed at this beautiful home for a small women’s book club “Bookcation,” and it was absolutely perfect for our group. The house was spotless, spacious, and even more charming in person than in the photos. We thoroughly enjoyed the cozy reading spots to big gathering areas where we could cook, chat, and unwind.The location was peaceful and scenic, making it the ideal backdrop for a relaxing weekend. We loved exploring the nearby towns, hiking, and then coming back to a warm, welcoming space that felt like our own private retreat.Communication with the host was excellent, check‑in was easy, and the house had everything we needed for a stress‑free stay. Thank you Jorge and Lisa! We hope to return again some day.

Staying at The Pines is always wonderful, and we hope to be able to visit again soon. The home is sure to delight anyone with a strong knowledge of history, Victorian architecture, or even just an appreciation for beauty. Every inch of the home is meticulously restored, no detail left unnoticed. In addition, the place is comfortable and cozy, with plenty of places to sit and chat or curl up with a good book. The kitchen is perfect for cooking in, and the grounds are lovely in winter and summer. Overall, just a lovely place with a great vibe.

We recently hosted our micro-wedding at the Pines this past October and it was genuinely a perfect venue for us. The property and house is gorgeous, especially during the fall months, and really made the weekend so much more memorable than a more traditional wedding venue might have. Everything about the grounds and mansion was as listed or advertised, and communication was easy. There was plenty of room for storage, which was great for planning the event, and the number of bed and bathrooms made it very easy to host a multiple nights even for upwards of 20 people. We really cannot overstate how beautiful this historic property is, how perfect it was for our wedding, and how fondly we will look back on our week there. The house was great and was excellent for a large group of people due to the number of bedrooms and the accompanying bathrooms! There are many valid rules to ensure the house maintains pristine, so might not be best for a rowdier crew or children. The kitchen had EVERYTHING you could want from a utensil perspective which came incredibly handy. Lisa was incredibly kind, gave us the full history of the house, and was incredibly responsive. We had 16 people and it was a wonderful stay, thank you!

I hosted my wedding at The Pines and unfortunately would not recommend it. Full details are available in the attached screenshot. Here's a brief summary of our experience:The Pines is historic, beautifully restored, and incredibly comfortable. My family and I loved our time there. Lisa, the property manager, is outstanding. She is knowledgeable, caring, and deeply invested in both the property and the guest experience. While my stay was wonderful once we arrived, the host’s sparse communication, last-minute contract, lack of transparency, and inability to fulfill his obligations in a timely manner made the planning process extremely stressful.

We had a fantastic long weekend in this beautiful house. Everything is very clean and nicely decorated. Looks much better than pics on website. We loved the outdoor space. We enjoyed visiting brewery, winery, hiking nearby at Stissing Fire Tower, hiking to a nearby waterfall, and enjoying the towns in the area. Host had great communication and was very helpful.

We used the house for a retreat for a group of professionals. For this purpose the bedroom situation was lovely (9 bedrooms with ensuite baths) but the common rooms were a bit small and the wifi was tricky. None of this was the owners fault and we used the house well. Just sharing our experience. the house itself was very beautiful and had a lot of resources when we made dinner saturday night.

This house is excellent for large groups. There were 17 of us. It has been restored to authentic Victorian style with curated furniture, lighting, and beautiful wallpaper. There are so many beautiful details in every room I did not have time to photograph them all. The house is very comfortable, the bedrooms are spacious with updated bathrooms. The kitchen works very well and you have the choice of casual and formal dishes, linens, and glassware to create an elegant setting. The porch was our favorite hang out place ( we had great weather). Beautiful landscaping. I would definately rent again because the owner is very responsive and gracious. Thank you Jorge and Lisa for making our stay very special and comfortable.

Family Get Away

We had an amazing extended weekend at the Pines. 3 generations of our family gathered for a wedding in the area. There was plenty of room for everyone. We were all able to eat together and hang out together but could also find privacy in the immaculately appointed bedrooms. We had the most beautiful stay at the Pines. There are so many gorgeous spaces to spend time, both inside and outside. It’s so clear that Lisa and Jorge LOVE this property! All of the bedrooms and bathrooms are well appointed and very comfortable. Highly recommend for large group stays!

We rented this property for friends and family in town for our daughter’s wedding at Stissing House. It was perfect and well beyond our expectations for the weekend. So many places to gather for conversation, food and large scale entertaining. We hosted 18 people in the house and added 15 one night and another 20 the next night. Literally perfect.The property manager is wonderful and has added some wonderful upgrades such as an amazing coffee room. Highly recommend this unique property- truly a unicorn. The listing does not do it justice.
