Nice place

I love Girasol sur building! Old, but very well maintained. Elevators are good. The unit got a new fridge. Really nice. Balcony, view are amazing. We would definitely come back. Thank you for letting us stay in your condo!

Home away from home

This condo was tidy with a stunning westerly view that allowed for full sunset gazing. On arrival and unpacking we discovered that the only household item in the condo was one roll of toilet paper which the owner confirmed was all he provides. We were fortunate that the store on premises was open until 9pm and we were able to buy dish soap, paper towel, cooking oil, butter etc however they do not sell coffee filters for the coffee maker so bring your own basket filters from home until you can get to town to the mercado. Staff were incredible but the restaurant only takes pesos no cards and the only ATM are a half hour bus back into town so bring lots with you. Beds were hard and uncomfortable so we took the couch cushions from pull out bed and put on top of mattresses for a little padding. One thing we found out through reading the info at reception is that the water in this resort is safe to drink so no need to buy bottled water. We never had any issues with the water. The a/c unit of the building next door is just below at ground level and is constantly running so you may find it helps to bring ear plugs for sleeping. Standard tipping here is 20% of the bill for services. Overall a great experience and will be coming back again.

About 30 minute taxi ride from downtown PV. Over lots of speed bumps..... not much opportunity for walking anywhere from the property....only a busy highway. Nice beach but strong undertow & ferocious waved when exiting the water.

Condo Girasol Sur

Good experience renting this property. Would probably return to this property, but probably to a unit that was a bit larger with more recent updates. The views, restaurant and service are excellent.

Enjoyed our stay, as mentioned the apt. is small but it has the basics. The AC worked but leaked, it didn't bother us too much as there is a lovely breeze from the ocean.

Perfect Location, as advertised

We stayed for 17 nights and were very happy with the location and amenities. Like others have said, the studio apartment is small and it would have been very tight if our son would have been able to join us but it was just me, hubby and our 18 year old daughter. Space is tight and there is no space to place your luggage. Beds are comfortable but the pillows could use some upgrading, that would probably be my biggest complaint. Also, maybe to have a mop in there so you could wash the floors once in awhile during a longer stay. The beach chairs were a welcome surprise and there are a good amount of towels except for dish towels-there were none. The stove top burners are not the greatest and because of the space limitations, cooking a meal is rather difficult so we restricted it to breakfast and the occasional grilled cheese sandwiches for supper when we did not want to head into town. The owner is part of the laundry club, so all you need to do is go to reception and sign up for a time slot to do your laundry. Note: the washing machines use liquid soap. The night we arrived we notice the chain in the toilet tank was broken making flushing impossible. Hubby tried to fix it but needed pliers. We contacted the owner and Brad had it fixed the next day. The TV was working but had no sound but it wasn’t an issue for us as we mainly sat on the balcony. We never informed Brad about the TV because who needs a TV when you have that kind of view or were out till bedtime anyway. The location is absolutely perfect! Away from the business of Vallarta yet still close enough for food, grocery stores and everything else. We took the bus everywhere since it was super convenient and cheap, only 10pesos per person. The last bus back from Puerto Vallarta runs at 11pm. The beaches: we enjoyed the south beach more since it was less crowded but the undertow can be much stronger at certain times of the day. The sand on both beaches is absolutely perfect; white and very very fine sand. This spoiled us quite a bit cause we didn’t enjoy other beaches we went to, like Yelapa. A hard problem to have, I know ;) The convenience store downstairs is great for small things here and there and beverages you don’t want to lug back by bus from town. The restaurant is so so. We were looking for more traditional meals and only ate supper there twice. However, very much enjoyed their breakfast menu. The view is by far the greatest feature of the condo! Thanks for the stay!

The View.

You are paying for the view. The accommodations are average. Basically as advertised. It was clean and functional. We did not go without anything. Internet service was excellent. Pool was also excellent. Beach was good as well. Snorkeling is also possible right off the beach. Knowing what we know now, we would stay again in the future.

Playas Gemelas

I've known the properties on these two beaches for decades. These are among the best beaches in Vallarta-though strongly urge you to swim in the North and not South beach which has strong undertow. This apartment is best for a couple, though has enough single beds for 6. Beautiful views of the southern beach and the Arches. The building has a small store for incidentals as well. Everything worked well. Space is small but functional.

Couldn't get enough of the ocean views and sounds!

I booked this 10 day trip as my first solo foreign travel experience, so I was looking for a safe location with ample amenities and great views. This property didn't disappoint. I enjoyed both the Pool area as well as the beaches. After a few days, felt very much "at home" on the property. Staff and guests were all friendly and accommodating when needed. The condo itself had pros and cons - but that is all relative to what your exact needs and expectations are. It's not fancy, but functional for the most part. It was plenty of space for just me, but I can't imagine having more than 2 people in there - mostly because there is limited room for your stuff -- no dresser. I just used the closet for hanging things and put all the rest on the 2nd bed. Not sure where I would have put everything if I was sharing the space with another person. Kitchen area is tiny, but adequate for basic cooking, but really no prep areas. I was disappointed that the photos showed a lounge chair on the balcony, but that was not there. I know that seems like an insignificant ting, but I would have loved to spend the evenings reading on the balcony, but the small plastic chairs were uncomfortable to sit in for very long. One of my biggest issues though was the fairly constant noise from the adjacent resort. There were partiers in the pool all day (and staff leading chants and singing with all of the drunk people). And in the evenings starting about 9 and going until well after midnight most nights they had loud entertainment. I was there over the Easter holiday and I heard that was one of the busiest times, so maybe it's calmer at other times. I know this is something out of the property's or condo owner's control, but I think it should be noted that on that side of the building there is definitely more noise. I rated my stay with almost all 5's because I got what I came for and had a really enjoyable time. I would definitely return. Just know that if you have need for perfection inside the condo, you can find reasons to be dissatisfied.

magnificent views from balcony soothing waves on the beach condo small but ideal for one or two people beds comfortable, with plenty of linens living room couches comfortable, with pull out beds if necc. kitchen small but plenty of small kitchen appliances plenty of towels, and beach towels relax and enjoy nature all around.

Great stay

My wife and I stayed here for 6 nights in March 2018. Everything was as advertised. The room is just a small studio but we spent a minimal amount of time inside and just needed a place to sleep and shower. The beaches were awesome. Taking the bus into PV was a snap. Just jump on across from the condo, pay your eight pesos and get off when they stop in town. You can take a taxi back for 150 pesos or jump back on the bus at the drop off spot and back you go. You need to pay attention to where your condo is as they don't announce the stops. A very nice elderly woman helped us out. Twice, young men gave up their seats to my wife when it was standing room only. You don't see that very often back home. If you want to lounge at the beach you will need to have your own chairs. We plan on staying here next year.

Girasol Sur- pristine beaches, oceanfront restaurant, friendly and economical

Girosol sur was a wonderful getaway for my husband and I. It was great to be able to cook the occasional meal but we enjoyed the oceanfront restaurant❤️The staff is friendly and fun! The highlight was the clean turquoise waters and wonderful daily ocean swimming. Old town Puerta vallarta and the malacon was a short bus ride away and it was good to come home to the quiet and serenity of Girosol Sur. Thank you Brad, we'll be back😍

Wonderful spot!

Beautiful beach! Perfect water temperature on Christmas weekend! You can spend the entire day in the ocean without getting cold. Brad was very helpful and responsive. The staff at the condo could not have been nicer or more helpful, and the apartment was immaculately clean. The restaurant on the property is a wonderful, romantic place to have dinner, hanging right over the water. Brad recommended a couple of his favorite restaurants in town, and I went to one of them, Trio, perhaps the fanciest restaurant in town, but it was just okay, nothing special. On the other hand, I had the huachinango ajo (whole red snapper) the local specialty, at the restaurant on site, and it was literally one of the best meals I have ever enjoyed in my life! (One fifth the price of Trio by the way.) So nice on the property that I really didn't feel like going into town. Brad has several units on the property, and renting at the last minute, the only one available at the time was room 104 on the third floor. It does have a beautiful ocean view, but I saw his unit on the 13th floor, which is clearly preferable, with an incredible view of the entire coast. The only downside of my unit was that my apartment, though perfectly clean, had a musty odor about it. You notice it as soon as you walk in, and despite having tile floors and having the big sliding balcony door open for my entire stay, the mustiness remained. Don't know if Brad's other units have the same issue or not. Ask Brad about it. He will be straightforward with you. Wasn't a deal breaker for me. I became unaware of it after being inside for a while, but if you are sensitive to it, it might be an issue for you. Oh, also the third floor unit is very close to the utility pad of the hotel next door. The pad is at the exact same level as the apartment, and quite close by (maybe 100 feet or so away.) The fans or the generator or whatever it is runs day and night. You can't hear it when you are in the apartment, even with the sliding door wide open, but it is very noticeable while sitting on the balcony. The sound of the surf and the noise of the utility pad compete with each other about 50/50 when sitting out there. It definitely puts a damper on enjoying a cocktail at sunset on the balcony. Again far from a deal breaker for me, I took my cocktail and hors d'oeuvres down to pool (deserted at sunset) and sat by the ocean and enjoyed the sunset there.. Beautiful. Again, 13th floor may not have this issue either

Nice property. Great views and the people working there were so nice.

We really loved our vacation! The ocean was beautiful and so was the pool. Even though we made most of our own meals, it was nice to have the option of going to the restaurant. The grocery store was more than adequate and we loved the library as well. Nice gym on site too. We saw 2 whales and lots of birds. Our apartment was small but had all that we needed. It would have been nice if it was pre-stocked with a few items though, such as dish detergent, a scrubbing brush, some paper towels and toilet paper. Otherwise, we had lots of towels and linens and we had the most beautiful view from our balcony. We ate most of our meals on the balcony - it was like paradise!

Lovely Girasol Sur

We stayed at Girasol Sur April 15th-19th in a 10th floor condo, the view cannot be beat! The balcony overlooking the ocean, the bay was the BEST. Can't tell you how many times we were out there relaxing, having cocktails. The condo was exactly as described in the ad and vacationer's reviews. The flowers in the courtyard were beautiful. The staff is extremely friendly and so nice...loved our waiter, Roberto!! There's an XOXOX store located in the condo that carried almost everything, example, eggs, bread, ice, beer,liquor and the prices were quite reasonable. Plenty of space by the pool, could easily get a lounge chair, or if you prefer the beach, the beach to the right was busy, lively,and had public access, and the beach to the left was very quiet and private. The condo was quite a bit south of the city, but cabs and buses are right in front if you get the urge to sight see. Thank you, Brad for sharing this lovely "get away", we would like to visit again!! It was perfect for the two of us!

Beautiful Location Beautiful Building

Was very nice and relaxing just what we were looking for! Saw Whale's almost every day. The restaurant was very nice and the bands they had on Friday and Monday were very good. Love all the flowers. View from room was beautiful. Can't wait to go again.
