Take in the rich history and subtle grandeur of Santa Barbara’s Upper East Side. Perfectly situated between the Old Mission, Downtown, and Upper State, you’ll be within walking distance of several picture-worthy parks and eateries. Due to the lush landscapes and historic homes, it’s no wonder this neighborhood is a walking favorite for locals.

This 1940s classic cottage has undergone a substantial makeover to retain its old-world charm while providing modern amenities. Original oak hardwood, vaulted ceilings, and a cozy fireplace will greet you in the Living Room, which extends to the formal Dining Area. The expertly designed Kitchen is complete with Carrera marble counters, a farmhouse sink, and a large cooktop island. A built-in desk sits in a Kitchen nook offering a perfect spot to catch up on emails. Three Bedrooms and Two and a half Bathrooms offer all the comfort and relaxation you’d hope for. French Doors from the Kitchen lead outside to a Saltillo tile patio with a dining area, built-in grill, a jungle gym for kids, and a sprawling lawn. We’d be remiss if we didn’t mention the carefully manicured landscaping featuring native wildflowers, shady trees, and rose bushes, all adding to the alluring aesthetic of this home. It's the perfect place to stop and smell the roses.

Perfect Match

We loved the house and the beautiful landscaping made the home and backyard feel like a private oasis. Over our 6 night stay we only went out to dinner once as we were happy to enjoy the space and cook for ourselves. The kitchen and BBQ were well kitted. We hope to return

Secret garden paradise!

This is a beautiful storybook property from the white roses in the front yard to the picturesque secret garden in the back. The backyard felt secluded because of the thoughtful and gorgeous trees, roses and landscaping including a blueberry garden. We enjoyed meals out here as well and it was a lovely departure from the nightlife on State Street and beachfront hotels. The neighborhood had many restaurants and coffee shops in walking distance (about a mile) and other beautiful homes with mountains in the distance to look at. You can also walk to the Mission - wonderful! The chef's kitchen had literally anything you would want in the way of cookery, cocktail glasses, linens and beautiful serving dishes. If you don't cook, you will feel very fancy here anyway. Also, we discovered an entire closet full of board games which were very popular with our crew. So if you are looking for a beautiful house in an established neighborhood with lovely walks, this is it! The house was meticulously clean and and well thought out. The primary bathroom shower felt like a spa! One issue worth noting is that this house does not have railings for assistance on any of the steep steps to the front door, or from the dining room to the lower level kitchen or the back patio stairs to the beautiful yard. If you use a cane, walker or wheelchair, this may not be the easiest house for you.

Fabulous graduation weekend

We booked this gorgeous home to celebrate our youngest graduating from ucsb. My husband and I view graduation as part a celebration of our child’s achievements and part a celebration of ours. This home was the perfect treat for all of us. It was a comfortable home and backyard for relaxation and conversation. We had wonderful meals and enjoyed walks in the gorgeous neighborhood. We could not be more pleased with our stay.

Beautiful home

This home was gorgeous inside and out. The trees and foliage in the backyard made it beautiful retreat for relaxing and dining. The decor inside was elegant, yet tasteful and simple. Definitely a lovely place to stay. My only wish was that the beds were larger.
