NEW! Silent Rock Retreat is located in Government Camp with quick access to all Government Camp activities, shops and restaurants. During the winter months you will be minutes from skiing, snowboarding and Cosmic Tubing. You will be just a few miles from dozens of cross country and snowshoe trails and just down the road from Timberline Ski Area. There are plenty of hiking trails nearby, too. Look for Huckleberries near the trails in August off of the Skiway Trail.

The Silent Rock Retreat is a 2-level vacation home provides plenty of room for up to 8 guests with 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The great room offers up plenty of seating for all your friends and family to gather around to enjoy favorite TV shows or to play board games or put together jigsaw puzzles and cozy up to the wood burning fireplace. The open modern kitchen includes all the appliances, pots, pans and dishes you need to prepare a fabulous feast. Share your meals around dining table with the view of the surrounding mountains in the background, or walk across the street to Mt Hood Brew Pub for delicious food and hand crafted beer. The loft area upstairs is the perfect gathering spot to have a foosball tournament. The large flat screen TV offers streaming services to be able to log in to your favorite service and relax after a fun filled day exploring the Mt Hood Area.

Excellent location but inaccurate property description

We had a great time at this home but the front door keypad was very glitchy and took multiple tries to unlock & lock on several occasions. Not fun when it’s cold and windy outside. In addition, the VRBO description is inaccurate as there is not a BBQ at the property. We were also told that we would be getting 10 pieces of firewood per day for the great fireplace but when we arrived there were only 5 pieces total. I contacted the property management company and they argued with me about the description that was given to us and made me send an email to them with proof. It was very frustrating and unprofessional in my opinion. Eventually someone did come over and provide us with more firewood but the whole experience was ridiculous, especially with the amount of money we were spending. Over all the house was nice with comfortable beds and the location was great.

Fun in the snow and sun!

Lovely home! Very well decorated and very comfortable. Great location and cute community. Only downside was the driveway. Barely fit two cars and the snow made it hard to get in and out of vehicle. Steep and slippery.

Disappointed

Very disappointed. Management just did a copy and paste instructions from another property. This had us believing this property had more then it did. Our email instructions had Laundry instructions and said they provided detergent (there is no laundry machine here at ) the emailed hot tub instructions had us confused because we didn’t see one in the photos, we weren’t that hopeful for that, but still so dumb to send. The driveway is a very steep hill that barley fits 2 cars. We have 2 full size range rovers with snow tires and spent most of the time trying to get in and out of the driveway. If you have a smaller car there is no way you could make it. They did not provide a snow shovel so we hand doug a path to get our luggage up. It does not have a central heater so much of the time was running around trying to adjust the wall heaters so we weren’t freezing. They left no instructions for them so it was very frustrating. The only pros were the beds and kitchen being clean (bathrooms were disgusting). We stay up in government camp about 4 times a year and I would recommend any other place over this one. Bummer because I really wanted to love it.

Ski weekend for 6

My friends and I had a great time here. Photos are accurate. Beds were all comfortable, bathrooms clean and functional. Big couch and lots of space to hang out. Fireplace was great, but if you use it all weekend you'll need to buy more wood (they provide some). Kitchen is small but functional with plenty of pots/pans for cooking. Dining table only has 4 chairs, so it's hard to sit down to dinner together with a larger group. The wall heaters were not that great. They didn't seem very effective and one made quite a bit of noise. Two cars fit in the driveway, but we easily parked other cars on the street below. All in all, my friends and I really enjoyed our stay here.
