CRAB A COLD ONE OCEANSIDE 4 BEDROOMS, 3 1/2 BATHS, (2K, 2T, 1PYR, 2Q SLEEP SOFAS) Sunday to Sunday.

Crab A Cold One is a California Contemporary home set on a private 100' x 200' property in quiet Whalehead Beach. The home is located in the shady, natural setting of the maritime forest, and is surrounded by pines on three sides, yet still only a short (approx. 1000') walk to the beach. Crab A Cold One is a place where you can grab a cold drink and relax in total privacy with your own in ground pool and hot tub. Basketball, horseshoes, and corn hole game are outside as well. Inside, the ground floor is split into two sides and features a game room with pool table, fooseball table and ping pong top on one side, and a hang out room with flat panel TV and a sleep sofa on the other side. Bedrooms are on the next level and feature a master with a king, another full size bedroom with a king, and two smaller bedrooms with two twins in one and a bunk on the other. The next level includes the living room and kitchen. The kitchen is fully equipped including additional items such as a griddle, crock pot, ice cream maker, and Keurig and regular coffee makers. The top level is a loft room with flat panel TV, seating, and a sleep sofa.
The home is strategically located near the historic Whalehead Club and Currituck lighthouse, old Corolla Village, the nature trails of northern Corolla, and the four wheel drive area (Wild Horses) of Carova. We're also minutes away from the shops and restaurants of Tim Buck II, Monteray Plaza and Corolla Light.

The age requirement for renting our home is 25, and we only rent to family groups.

What a great stay

We had an amazing time staying at property. Check in was so easy and host were easy to communicate with and always willing to help. Amenities were amazing including the beach wagon. It was very difficult to get my kids to do something other then swim in the inground pool. The beach wasnt too far of a walk to get it. We loved staying here!!!

Perfect get a way

Perfect size house for a family. It was my husband and I and our 2 teen daughters and one of our daughter's friends. The house was clean, and stocked with nessessities. Pool was relaxing and the kids loved the hot tub. Highly reccomend this house. Decent location to walk or take a quick drive to the beach that has free parking. We had a wonderful week, no complaints at all.

The home was beautiful and just what we needed with the pool, hot tub, and close beach access. Communication with the owners from start to finish was great! Thank you for sharing your home! Only issue I noticed is the upstairs stair area, itā€™s very easy for them to fall through and down the stairs. (Maybe not a house for toddlers that want to explore everything)

Great Location

This is house is near everything. Plenty of things to do and see. Close walk to the beach. The house was clean, everything worked. The owners communicated and had everything ready for us. I would definitely recommend.

We loved OBX

John and Mary were wonderful to rent from. Their communication about everything we needed to know about the property was top notch. The rental itself was the perfect location. The kitchen had everything we needed. I was glad I read previous renters reviews so we knew to bring kitchen, bath and pool/beach towels. Would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful vacation!

This house was perfect for our family vacation. Although we had rain for a few days, we stayed busy with the foosball table and ping pong in the game room. Once the sun appeared, we had a 5 minute walk to the beach and a beautiful pool to enjoy. We had a minor issue with the dishwasher, and John had someone there almost immediately to take care of it. Thanks for the wonderful vacation!

Fantastic Family Vacation

Loved this house. Everything exactly as stated. Would definitely recommend. We really enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Very clean and clear water. Our 4 and 2.5 year olds loved the bunk bed room! Close walk to beach. 2 wagons, several beach chairs and a beach umbrella. Donā€™t forget to pack towels. Food Lion very close and prices are great! Kitchen had everything!

Nothing short of amazing

The owners were in contact with us before the trip even started to give us advice on how to avoid a toll road to save us money. We arrived to an amazing house that was immaculate inside. A private pool, a private, hot tub, basketball court, ping pong table, a pool table, a foosball table, and a horseshoe pit to keep everyone busy when we werenā€™t at the beach. 3 blocks from a beach with a life guard. There was every cooking utensil and implement you could possibly need for home-cooked meals. You cannot go wrong renting this house. The owners went out of their way to make us feel at home for the week we were there. Donā€™t miss a chance to stay in an amazing house in a quiet, peaceful neighborhood

Great place to stay

Really well stocked rental. Had like 6 beach chairs, beach wagon, sand bucket/shovel, 2 stock pots to boil crab, kitchen towels, dish soap, keurig coffee pods, Tupperware, some hand soap. Donā€™t forget to bring bath towels and beach towels. It was an easy flat walk to the beach just a couple of blocks away, most of which is on a path and not a road. Wagon can easily make it all the way to the dune steps and many people leave their wagons parked there. Lots to do in the house. Pool table, Board games, foosball Would definitely stay again.

Fantastic home!

We loved this house! Pictures don't do it justice. It smelled so clean when we first walked in and everything was spotless! Great cleaning crew! Has everything, a pool and hot tub with privacy, outdoor shower, foosball table and pool table, beach chairs and a wagon to take the chairs and other miscellaneous items to the beach. We were all happy here. Watched movies in the room on the top level. Make sure to bring your own bath towels, and some paper towels, toilet paper and soap for the bathrooms. Kitchen is fully supplied with everything we needed for the week. I would say it's a 6-7 minute walk to the beach and a 2 minute bike ride. We rented bikes nearby. We loved the house and would definitely stay here again! 5 stars from us! ā­ļøā­ļøā­ļøā­ļøā­ļø

Late summer vacation in Corolla

The house was perfect for the 5 of us but had much more space & beds for larger groups. We had some beautiful beach days and at the ownerā€™s recommendation, we rented a golf cart which was perfect for getting everyone and everything to the beach quickly and easily. We had some cooler and rainy days too and never got bored. We played pool, used the hot tub, played basketball, and watched tv (lots of channels!). We ordered out everyday and loved all of the local seafood, however, the kitchen was fully stocked to cook or bake anything you wanted. There was one small electric issue that was taken care of almost immediately. John was so responsive and easy to communicate with via text and phone. We felt right at home. We have a toddler who is a pro at stairs but for crawlers and early walkers, make sure they would be safe on the stairs. Our only regret was that we forgot to play hide and seek which this house was made for!

Perfect escape

This place is close to it all, while at the same time being tucked away enough that you can enjoy privacy and quiet. Clean throughout and well stocked for family entertainment, this place had everything we needed and then some. Crystal clear refreshing pool, same with the hot tub. Billiards, cornhole, horseshoes - you name it. A quick walk or drive to the beach. Excellent for a low key laid back family vacation, it's location is very close by to Currituck Lighthouse, Corolla Adventure Park, 4WD beach access, the sound for viewing sunsets. Recommend giving FirehouseBoil.com a shot for a family clam bake. If it's relaxation you're looking for in the Duck/Corolla area this place is sure not to disappoint.

Perfect location!

Corolla is a great spot to vacation to in OBX. This house specifically was in a great location for multiple reasons. Close to food stores, coffee shops, restaurants, ice cream, shopping, etc. The walk to the beach was very easy and took about 5 minutesā€¦ closest beach access was Sturgeon. Utility cart made it even easier to get our chairs and bags transported too. Pool and hot tub were great amenities to have right at the house after beach days. The kitchen was fully stocked with cups, glasses, mugs, plates, bowls, pots/pans, and utensils. If you plan to store any food in fridge bring your own Tupperware because that was the only thing not provided. Everyone was very comfortable. Make sure to remember your beach towels & bath towels. Sheets are provided and put out by front door for you to make the beds with. Owner was very nice and extremely responsive.

A fantastic home!

We can't say enough about how wonderful this home was. After an exhausting search, this was the most affordable, pet friendly home we could find in OBX. It was SPOTLESS upon arrival and had everything we needed for a great vacation with a family of 10. The pool was a great addition after long sandy days on the beach. The kitchen was more well-stocked than my own kitchen at home! Absolutely everything you'd need to cook for a week, even baking dishes, seafood tools, bar tools, etc. The location was quiet and secluded with less than a 5 minute walk to the beach. There's even a parking lot at the beach entrance for the days that we loaded up wagons and tents and didn't feel like carrying them. We watched 4th of July fireworks from the top balcony. I would 100% recommend this home for family rentals. The owners were kind and easy to deal with. I'd stay here again any time!

The House Has Everything!

Crab a Cold One was a perfect house for our familyā€¦including our dog! You would never know it was a pet friendly house because it is so clean. This house has everything you could imagine for a fun vacation. We all enjoyed taking a dip in the pool and hot tub after a day at the beach, the kids loved the game room with the pool table and fooseball table and the parents loved the stocked kitchen and state of the art appliances. The owners were so easy to talk to and so reliable. They made our VRBO experience easy and and it felt like we were friends with them even though we never met them in person. Thank you John and Mary!
