A cabin in the woods is the feel of Lirio Woods. It is a quiet, private space that includes a good sized bedroom, spacious living area, an eating area, full bathroom, washer & dryer, and a kitchenette (no oven but there is an electric skillet, induction burner, a gas grill on front porch, toaster oven and microwave). There is an antique desk for anyone who needs to get some work done, and a relaxing front porch that's perfect for sipping morning coffee or enjoying a beverage after a day of exploring.
Your personal entrance to the apartment is on the ground level at the front of the house with 24/7 access. The space is quiet, spacious and private. There is a designated parking space directly in front of the house.
Next store is Barn Door Ciderworks, a small taproom with beverages and light fare. As a guest you are invited to the cidery for a cider on the house! Please check the website for more information - barndoorcw.com.
Lirio Woods is a great get away that's convenient to Asheville, hiking, Biltmore Village/Estate, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and the airport.
There are many ways to enjoy this cozy apartment. We encourage guests to relax on the glider rockers on the front porch after a day of hiking. Or spend the evening around the fire pit and listen to the night quietly descend. Have your morning coffee at the window and watch the birds flit from tree to tree. For those who want to be indoors we have a comfortable couch, love seat and a recliner, wifi, and a Smart TV. Our guests who are here for work are pleased by the peace and quiet and often find that they have plenty of time to head to town for a meal and some live music.
The space includes a kitchenette (fridge, microwave, induction burner, toaster oven, electric skillet, hot water kettle, French press, plates, bowls, glasses, utensils, etc, no oven but a gas grill on the front porch).
We host many long-term guests working from home so the internet is set up to handle those needs.
If you are a family or need more than one queen bed, we offer blow up mattresses and/or comfortable sleeping mats depending on your needs.
PLEASE NOTE: We have a strict no pets policy. Pets include (but are not limited to): Turtles, Rabbits, Birds, Cats, Dogs, and Iguanas (yes, all of those have been requested). We ask that you not request to reserve the space if you intend on traveling with your pet. Thanks and our apologies for having to state this so strongly.

Relaxing Getaway

The property was clean and spacious, and the owners were great. There were a lot of nice touches, such as the ready to light fireplace, water pitcher in mini fridge, carrots for horses, and the Barndoor Ciderworks next door. The wife and I enjoyed our stay here as much as our visit to Biltmore.

Fantastic Stay

Great hide away in the woods

Very thoughtful hosts who brought us fresh flowers from the garden and cider from the Ciderworks next door. We loved the gazebo outside as well as the seats about the fire pit and the relaxing rocking chairs on the porch. There were lots of great books on Asheville and guides and brochures for places in the area. Apartment was perfect for our sojourn, we will be back!

Great Retreat

Katie was great about communicating, giving us good information about the area and restaurants. Good location between Asheville and Brevard, away from the traffic . Place was very clean and extremely comfortable. Although there is not a full kitchen, it is more than adequate for a vacation. We loved staying there and hope to return!

Nice Peaceful Property

My 8 year old daughter and I stayed here for a couple of nights and it was just what we needed! It was a quiet area, even with the cidery open. The living space was quite a bit bigger than I expected too. Katie was so accommodating as well! Great experience!

We had a great stay, it was very quiet, spacious and clean. We have no complaints and would definitely stay here again. We were in the area to visit Biltmore at Christmas which was only about 15 minutes away. There were drinks and snacks provided and even some carrots to feed the horses. Quaint quiet getaway

This location is great if you want to be away from the city. The 15 minutes drive is via back roads, but the location is nice and quiet. The accommodations were great. Katie was helpful with communication leading up to our arrival. We didn't need anything while we were there. She even left carrots in the refrigerator so we could feed the horses! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to others!!!

The lower level was a great space. We enjoyed all the homey touches that Katie provided. Even fresh flowers! There were plenty of snacks available and beverages in the fridge. It is truly a peaceful place to stay. The unit was clean and cozy. It is a little off the beaten path though, but well worth the trip. I hope we'll be able to come back sometime!

The unit was perfect for what I needed. A small, quiet space to decompress after the days stresses, the place was clean, comfortable, and cozy. As stated, drive time to downtown Asheville is about 15 minutes with reasonable traffic and local restaurants and grocery are all within 5-10 minute drives. The lack of full kitchen facilities was a minor inconvenience, but being able to do laundry in-house and the general calm vibe of the property more than made up for it. Would definitely stay again!

The Photos Do Not Do It Justice!

From the welcoming glass of cider to the final goodbye Lirio Woods made our recent vacation perfect! Katie and Dan could not have been more gracious. The location is set in a neighborhood, but feels like you are tucked into the woods. It was such a peaceful setting. We never even heard a dog bark(did see a turkey cross the road but he was pretty quiet)! Katie has thought of everything to make you feel at home. The furniture is comfortable and inviting. Check out the recliner-it was my favorite place after a long day of hiking. Thank you both for providing such a wonderful haven. We hope to see you again.

PERFECT for me!

This is the second time I've stayed here for 1 whole month. Returned because it is so close & convenient to amazing places.. including downtown Asheville, outlying towns, &.. The Biltmore. This time I purchased an annual pass & reserved a Biltmore house tour almost every day during my month long stay. I overnighted at quiet, peaceful, modern Lirio, where the owner has created a fun cider house next door. During the day, l had a short drive and month long tour of the incredible Biltmore mansion while they decorated each room with twinkling Christmas lights. I also walked the beautiful Biltmore gardens filled with mums and autumn glory, along with Deerpark, and more! I ate like royalty with so many incredible restaurants and foods nearby. My month long stay here was totally fun & incredible!

I made my home in Asheville years ago to open a small cheese business. I was drawn here because of family living here and the beautiful countryside of Western North Carolina. I love hiking and camping (when I can find the time!).
I manage a small creamery in Fairview, Blue Ridge Mountain Creamery, and recently opened Barn Door Ciderworks with my life-partner Dan.

This property is rural and still convenient to downtown. Located in Fairview, although the mailing address is Fletcher, it takes no more than 15 minutes to be in Asheville. The property is also close to Blue Ridge Mountain Creamery, the business I manage. Dan and I decided to add Barn Door Ciderworks to the property in November of 2020 so we have the convenience of living in the upper two stories of the building, and having one of our other businesses right next door!

Lirio Woods is located in Fairview down a beautiful country road dotted with homes between pastureland and woods. It is no more than 15 minutes to downtown Asheville, close to the Blue Ridge Parkway, beautiful hikes, and the airport. Our neighbors are two horses who love carrots and apples, and on weekends we can offer a local place to grab a meal and something good to drink right next door at Barn Door Ciderworks.
