Come enjoy Summer Fun and Relaxation at the Purple Parrot Resort Perdido Key

The Purple Parrot is right around the corner from Beautiful Beaches and Johnson Beach National Seashore. Bike or drive a few minutes to the pristine beaches. Off the beaten path, away from big crowds of Orange Beach and Gulf Shores, here you can go shelling, fishing, swimming, hiking and relaxing. The Park has pavilions with tables, bathrooms and outdoor showers. Look up the Johnson National Seashore for all the activities rules and regs. Bring your lunch or dinner and enjoy the gorgeous views of the gulf while sitting under shade! Other outdoor activities include paddle boarding, kayaking, parasailing, boating, fishing and more....abundant on the Key. There are many public access beaches close by too, stop by visitors center for handout information. Rent a pontoon boat from the nearby local marinas and tour the inter coastal waters, bayou's and take a boat ride to Pirates Cove for Lunch. Go to the Holiday Harbors' Sunset Grill for fabulous crab claws and meals. So much to see, do and dine, just minutes from the resort. Fabulous resort style pool, featuring a rock formation waterfall, a walkover hot tub and ample room for sun and swim. A volley ball court is just outside the pool area. Amenities at the Parrot include, an indoor heated pool with sauna, showers, workout room and hot tub. Wonderful Tiki Bar and Grill, with night time entertainment. Serving cold refreshments and light fare! Great for after beach happy hour!
The "Sea Star" Villa is tucked away in the Purple Parrot, island style resort. A wonderful, relaxing home awaits your arrival . Fresh paint and new flooring, inviting updates. Inside you will find comfortable amenities. The kitchen is fully equipped with large pantry, and appliances, including washer/dryer closet. Keurig /regular coffee makers, all utensils, tableware and small appliances necessary for a functional kitchen. Breakfast bar for 2 next to dining area for 6. Spacious family room with flat screen TV, docking station for your IT stuff, High Speed Internet, Cable and DVD Player, sofa bed that sleeps two, swivel chairs and coffee tables. 1/2 bath on first floor for convenience. Master with queen has en suite with soaking tub and separate shower. All bedrooms, queen sized beds with smart tv and ceiling fan.

Unclean & lots of indoor infestations

Upon arrival, we noticed several issues. The towel rack had been ripped from the wall, there was visible dust throughout the space. I opened the utility closet and found an air filter that appeared to be over a year old. The master toilet was not functional, and a dirty rag had been left in the shower. I reached out to Patricia right away, and she assured me someone would be sent the following day to address the problems. She also mentioned she would be contacting the cleaning company, as the overall cleanliness of the unit was well below expectations. While I didn't expect a full stock of supplies for the week, not even a starter trash bag was provided—there was absolutely nothing. That evening, we returned from the pool to find the kitchen covered in ants. We had to throw away a significant amount of food. The next day, maintenance came to fix the toilet and towel rack and applied ant poison. While the ant problem improved somewhat over the week, it was never fully resolved, and the kitchen remained essentially unusable. Thankfully, we were traveling with my daughter’s softball team and were able to use other units to prepare meals. Patricia was responsive at first, but after I notified her about a cockroach infestation, I never heard back. The master bed was so worn and sagging in the middle that two people couldn't sleep comfortably. I ended up sleeping on the couch the entire week. If we return to this area in the future, we will be seeking alternative accommodations.
He was much larger than what the picture makes him appear to be!
We were at the pool for maybe an hour and a half and came back to this. I leave donuts in their box on my counter at home and have never had this happen.

First time in Perdido/ Purple Parrot

The house was nice and as described, in a nice quiet corner and we really enjoyed the community amenities, short drive to the beach. We did have an issue with the cleaning company upon arrival but it was resolved quickly. The beds and dryer could used to be upgraded but other than that everything was great.

Family vaca

We absolutely LOVED our stay here!!! The place was just as it was listed- the pictures don’t do justice for how cute it is. Purple Parrot resort was fabulous- the pool, the bar, live music every night, bingo that even the kids could get in on:) food was great- we ate at the pool a few times. So much fun!! Can’t wait to come back!!

Clean, comfortable, & minutes from the beach!

Recently had my family in town for my husbands winging. Patricia was our host. The cottage was Very Clean and comfortable. I liked that it was tucked away and quiet, yet still close to the pool and beach. My family traveled across the country to be here, so it was nice to have all the extra amenities needed at this location. We enjoyed the pool, though I can not comment on the restaurant as we did not eat there. I had a few questions upon arrival that Patricia answered right away. Communication was on point. Would definitely recommend this cottage. Great for families or couples looking to get away. You can’t beat the location, you’re minutes from Perdido Key beach. Thank you Patricia! We had a great time and really enjoyed our stay!

Loved this house

We loved our stay at the house. The house itself was great. The property has a lovely pool and also an indoor pool should there be a rainy day. The location is handy to many restaurants, shopping and a short drive to the beach. We would definitely boom here again in the future.

OK Stay

The location of the resort is very nice. Close to restaurants and other things. However, we arrived to an unclean house (apparently the cleaning crew had not been told there was a change over that day), and there was no cart in which to haul our luggage so we had to carry everything. Since there is no parking near the house, this is very inconvenient. Miss Patricia did get the cleaning crew there, but since we already had all of our things there, we had to wait until they were done before we could start our vacation. Very disappointing after a 6 hour drive. Miss Patricia did accommodate us fairly for having to delay our vacation. The air conditioner is programmed to kick up to about 76° at any given point in time so it was very warm in the house. There is a fan that has to be placed at the end of the steps to help cool the bedrooms off so don’t plan on sleeping with your doors closed. Not to mention getting up at night to go down the steps to drop the temperature back down. At one point in time as Patricia texted me to find out if there were some sort of item in the house that she needed to let another renter know about which I found to be very unprofessional.

Greet Vacation

We had a great vacation at the Purple Parrot. The pool is great and has music every night at their little restaurant. It is not crowded but fun. The house is well located in the neighborhood backing to trees. We went to the state park every day as it was not crowded and parking is only $2. We will return to the Purple Parrot!

Best vacation ever!

This was the best vacation we’ve had since our boys (now 19 & 21) were little! Perfect location, perfect space, perfect…everything! Located between 2 of our favorite places (Orange Beach & Pensacola), this was the ideal location for our family vacation! Loved the nearby beach access, on-site pool and tiki bar, as well as short drive to…everything! We went to Gulf Shores during The Hangout Music Festival (for dinner at our favorite restaurant) and the drive was easy peasy! We will definitely book next summer…& every year after. It’s our new favorite spot!

Perfect family vrbo

Patricia was so kind and easy to work with. The place was clean and beautiful. The resort was perfect for us adults and both our teenage and elementary aged kids. The indoor pool/hot tub and sauna came in handy when it rained during our stay. We felt safe and comfortable during our stay. Will definitely be back and recommend to others!

Nice stay

Overall we enjoyed our stay. Very close driving distance to beach (half mile.) Highly recommend beach at State Park (has bathrooms & plenty of parking). The home was a little bit of a walk from our parking area and needs a little sprucing up (paint, carpentry, etc.) but decor was nice and worked for us fine. The pool and evening entertainment was awesome and definitely added to the overall experience of this property. The owner/property manager was super responsive to every request we had.

Great stay!

We enjoyed our time here. Super short drive to beach access. Convenient to the grocery store. Plenty of room in the house for myself, husband, 3 kids and father in law. We would definitely stay here again!

Fantastic Vacation

This our second summer at The Purple Parrot in Perdido Key. We loved the condo and the check in and out was super convenient. We will be back!

We are beach dwellers and always wanted a place near the big water! We are in Madison Al, so we can get down to the gulf easily. We lived on an island in the Pacific Ocean for many years, so sailing was our main hobby. Moving back to the states, found us looking for our beach home.

We love Perdido Key because of the location, which is out of the way of the busy Orange Beaches and Gulf Shores. This property is also very close to Johnson National Sea Shore, which is a preserve. The beach is never crowded and has pristine white sandy beaches. We have everything nearby...marinas for that ride along the intercoastal water way, golf, restaurants, shops and grocery and of course water activities. WE love the uncrowded key! It is easy to go into Gulf Shores and Orange Beach for festivities, additional shopping and more.
