Why compromise for your VIP gatherings? Our returning guests enjoy the easy beach access, minimal steps to the main level, and two main floor suites for two sets of grandparents! Our private patio is the envy of the neighborhood, where you can enjoy your outdoor meals in relaxed comfort. Evenings are for stories and s'mores around the easy gas fire pit - no smoky, smelly hassle with firewood. Enjoy your Lake Michigan beach walks with a beverage in hand, barbecues on the oversized Weber grill, and the other two covered porches -- as private owner-operators, we have tried to deliver the perfect blend of convenience and elevated comfort for everyone.

This house is one of the original homes in Sheridan Beach. We have fully updated and upgraded the property with tasteful furnishings throughout, for the ideal comfortable getaway for family groups, corporate retreats, and reunions. Unlike any other property in the area, you'll enjoy the perfect blend of a convenient walk to the water's edge, plentiful modern bathrooms and privacy for your extended family, along with a beautiful 800sf private "terrazza" with natural gas firepit and grill. With designer-grade finishes, and tasteful, travel-themed artwork throughout, you will enjoy an elevated and relaxing stay, just like our many returning guests, year after year. Only 60 minutes from Chicago by car, or 90 minutes from Midway Airport.

Absolutely beautiful and stately house with plenty of room for three generations of family while celebrating a wedding. Our host/owner, Craig, was so very conscientious and courteous, sending helpful messages about the property, local eateries and activities, and nearby entertainment. The spacious patio was perfect for dining al fresco and the built-in firepit added to the beach vibe after sundown. The beach and Lake Michigan are as advertised-a very short walk to the dunes. An ideal week at the beach!

We had the best week at La Terrazza

My family and I had a wonderful stay. Craig was easy to work with and his communication was the best. The house was clean and had everything we needed. The beds were comfy and the walk to the beach was so easy (even for my 82 year old mom). I highly recommend La Terrazza to any family looking to enjoy a summer in Michigan (Indiana)!!!

Weekend getaway

We always have the best time staying at this property. The home has just the right balance of together space and private space for large parties (20+ people). It is clean, close to the beach and comes supplied with everything you'll need to create lasting memories for everyone!

Huge home super close to the beach

It's rare to find a large home that can comfortably accommodate so many different couples and their children, but this one did! Loved the large back patio, two long picnic tables, and fire pit. It was a great place for all to gather and enjoy the weekend!

Family Vaca

The space and location were perfect for a multi-generation family. The owners have provided all the amenities needed for a big family that likes to cook. The back patio and fire pit were the perfect gathering place at the end of the day.

Wonderful family friendly house

Spacious and yet cozy. Great outdoor patio in back . Plenty of amenities within. Short walk to the beautiful lakeshore of Lake Michigan. The host was very responsive and checked in several times to make sure we were comfortable

La Terrazza was the perfect house for our group of 14 - the house and patio are spacious and are well stocked with everything you need to host that many people, and the beach is just steps away. Craig was kind, helpful, and super communicative - would definitely rent here again.

College Family Reunion

Great stay at La Terrazza! We had a large group of 14 adults and 7 children (ages 1 - 5) and it was very comfortable for all. Plenty of space on both first floor and second floor as well. Basement is recently finished with tons of storage space, kitchen and wash area. We did not need to leave the area because the beach is just a short walk away, but the local recommendations for groceries and take out were well appreciated. Looking forward to staying again in the future!

Family Gathering

This stay BLEW our group away!! We had a larger group with family and friends in town for the weekend and could not have picked a better spot. The house is clean, updated, steps from the beach and has an amazing outdoor patio with a firepit that we used daily!! Thank you Craig for the warm welcome and letting us stay for the weekend!

Friends to the Dunes

Wonderful visit to the Dunes and Lake Michigan City. The VRBO was perfect for our stay. The owners have put a lot of attention to the details to ensure your stay if a great one. Especially loved the new kitchen and the outside lounge area with the gas fire pit. Just a few short steps to the lake. Will definitely go again and stay.

Great house for a large group

My friends and I rented this house for a weekend getaway and had a blast. The kitchen area had enough seating for our large group, we enjoyed hanging around the outdoor and indoor fireplaces and the super short walk to the beach. The property manager was responsive. We would happily rent this house again in the future.

Great House for a Family Holiday

Our family of 19 people, ages 5 to 73, enjoyed our stay in Michigan City. The house had everything we needed... lots of plates, flatware and cooking stuff! Plenty of room for us to spend time together and privacy when we needed it. The homeowners were great and responsive. The house was clean and tidy! Will be going there again next year!

Great place for multiple families

Home with great combination of large and small gathering places, lots of bedrooms with comfy beds, close to beach, and kitchen stocked with all types of pots, pans and dishes. Everything you need for multiple families to gather, eat, and play together. Great patio space with gas grill and fire pit. We had five families together and we all had our own space. It was perfect.

We are a couple of travelers living in Chicago, who happen to love the beachfront lifestyle. We love to entertain and cook, and we are excited to be able to bring our creativity and ideas to this house, and share it with our guests.

We have been coming to Michigan City for many years. We looked at many of the neighborhoods in the area, and kept coming back to the convenience of this little Sheridan Beach pocket. We have lovely neighbors all around, and feel so fortunate for the opportunity to become part of the community. We love the moment when we arrive, and get out of the car, and hear the waves of Lake Michigan - it is instantly relaxing.

As one of the original Sheridan Beach homes, this house has been through numerous modifications. At one point, it held at least three apartments. There are several "M" initials around the house, which suggests to us that it belonged to one of the original founders of Sheridan Beach, William Manny. We continue to hear stories of the old days of this house and neighborhood, and they are fascinating.

Few properties offer the vibe that this one does, and can accommodate your whole extended family, and STILL be this convenient to walks on the beach. In 2018, we designed and built the 800 square foot patio (“terrazza” in Italian), framed by the 24 locally-sourced, mature arbor vitae trees, creating an inviting and private space that reminds us of our travels in Italy. This terrazza is unique to the area, and allows your group to linger in privacy and comfort around the gas firepit and extended outdoor dining area. There are so many lovely homes in the neighborhood, but what brings some of our guests back year after year is the convenience this home offers a large group, to stroll 100 steps to the sand with your coffee in the morning, or your favorite sunset drink in the evening - it just can't be beat. In early 2020, we renovated all six bathrooms, and in the fall, we completed a full exterior renovation: siding, windows and doors. Finally, in 2021, we rehabbed the kitchen, its first update in over 60 years. In all the updates, we worked hard to preserve the character, but enhance the comfort this house offers our guests.
