Lovely property and helpful host
Overall, the property itself was lovely - very modern and well presented. The garden and pool area were beautiful. A couple of maintenance teething troubles were sorted within hours by the host which was great. However, a few other observations:Vrbo shows the location of the property as being on the edge of Fethiye but the property is actually in the neighbouring town of Oludeniz. The town was quite run down and the choice of restaurants was not great. Early April isn’t a great time to go as a lot of local places hadn’t opened for the season yet but even if they had all been open they were not the sort of quality we wanted. A lot of it seemed to be catering to British tastes not authentic local cuisine. We don’t want a Sunday roast or full English when we go away! One highly recommended place in the town though is Pomegranate Gardens. Lovely family run restaurant who did an amazing Turkish breakfast. We had better luck in Fethiye itself with nice places to eat and wander in both the old town area and further up the coastline in the city. Also really enjoyed the cable car and mountain top restaurant. Finally the host charged an extra 100 to heat the pool and said it would heat to 28c however it never reached that temperature and we were barely able to use it as it was just too cold. There was a little rain which didn’t help but it seems the pool heating wasn’t able to compensate for that and couldn’t maintain a comfortable temperature.
